After looking at reviews online and youtube for possible tint options I stumbled upon John's channel. He seemed to have a lot of experience with Tesla, good ratings, and he was local too so I decided to give him an opportunity to work on my model y. After having him tint my car I can tell you that if you are looking for perfection I would advise you go elsewhere. I had to return a second time and the results are still far from perfect.

John took care of my Model Y and Model 3. He did clear bra and hight touch points on both. It looks so good you can't tell just the way we wanted it. We had some issue with our film and he took care of it right away. John is responsive and has a quick turn around. I highly recommend him.

This is how the owner texts me after he sees the review.

The owner is not honest. He quote me 460 for my panamera windows and I clearly told him I have old film on windows. When I arrived he realized the original film was not done by him then he gave me lot of excuses stating he has no 25% film left so he can't do that day. The shop is 45 min from my home so I wasted 1.5 hr because of him. He said he can get the film for me but I need to add 200 USD since there has small pieces of windows that he didn't know it's on panamera (I think whole reason of adding price is he found out my original film was not done by him :) ) I agreed to the new price and he asked me to wait 1-2 weeks that he can get film. After two weeks I texted him, he told me he won't do my car since his tech who is specialized to remove original film is gone. Bxxxshxx, he doesn't want to do my car that's all. Btw, i compliment him why all Tesla in his shop, he said since those guys are bunch of people who is willing to spend such high price like thousands dollars on their car :) yes maybe true but this is what he thinks on you guys asking him to work on your Tesla :) Be careful the review of his review lot of 5 stars since he has a way to remove the bad reviews

I am so happy with the results! I've had my Tesla Model 3 for about 7 months now and have been putting off getting the windows tinted. There are so many tint shops here in the Bay Area to choose from and I wasn't sure if I wanted to do ceramic or not. Since spring is coming, I decided that the time to do it was now. I got quotes from several places in the SJ area, and I can confirm that JLenin's prices was by far the most reasonable. On top of that, he's one of the few places who have 5 stars on Yelp with happy customers. He only does ceramic which is highly recommended if you want to do window tinting. Definitely coming back here once I decide to do the rear windshield! John is really responsive through text. Make sure to book with him ahead in advance, especially if you want a weekend slot. It took ~1hr to complete all 4 windows and rear quarters. Check out his Instagram @j_lenin to see his work. I was his Tesla Model 3 #31 of the year (and it's only the beginning of March!). Can't imagine how busy the shop is going to be when the Model Y comes out this year. If you have a Tesla, trust John.

I got my windows tinted on Saturday and they look amazing! I previously requested a quote at another place and it was over $300, the price here was way below that and the same quality (maybe even better) as the other spot! John responded real quick and scheduled me for the next day. He helped me pick the right tint (35% front and 20% on the rest). I went with John after seeing his reviews and YouTube videos. He's good at what he does. I didn't have any bubbling or dust particles as far as I can tell under the tint. It goes to the edge as well. The only thing I wish they would do is shave some of the dot matrix on the window but I don't hold that against them because I know there is no perfect solution there. He also has a warranty which I looked for. Anyway I'm considering going back for a no tint film on the windshield - it's a bit expensive for that so not sure yet if it'll make a huge difference. read more

I had my new CX5 tinted by John today and he did an awesome job. I love how my car turned out. Unlike some of the other tiny shops, he took the time to remove the top part of my door panels so the window channels don't get damaged. The Rayno S5 film he uses is also high quality and blocks out the heat from the sun. I also had door edge guards installed too. read more

Installed some Rayno #5 and they look pretty exactly how i wanted. John gave my ride a foam bath too. Bubbles were gone in 2 days as told. I've been meaning to review this place for months but haven't gotten around to it until now. They did an amazing job on my 2014 Prius! John was extremely helpful and responsive, which was appreciated as it was my first time tinting. I actually went pretty dark--5% in the back and 20% in the front. No regrets. The Prius has sooo many windows on it and the small ones are pretty useless IMO, especially the ones in the front next to the side mirrors, so I asked to black them out with the 5% too. For $10 extra they even tinted the skinny window on my hatchback door to match the other windows. $230 total. I'll make sure to post pictures later. Side note, I'm not sure why the name change happened. I liked Carrera Tint! But yeah, great job with the tint guys! I appreciate it. read more

Recently purchased a 2021 Tesla Model 3 and searched for a window tinting business with experience and expertise with Tesla's. I looked at many businesses in different cities to see which business offered what I was searching for. I live in the Central Valley and was willing to travel to which ever city the business was located in. I found JLenin Windows Tint through Yelp and sent the owner John a text about what I was looking for. JLenin Window Tint had many positive feedbacks from Tesla owners and also showed pictures of many Tesla's with the work completed. John responded to my text and was able to answer all my questions. I was interested in window tint for all windows but I was still deciding on the front windshield. After talking to John, I decided to go with 3m IR ceramic 25% rear windows, 25% rear windshield, 35% front windows and 35% moonroof. Since I was driving from the Central Valley, I wanted to get into San Jose after the morning commute and out before the afternoon traffic begun. John was very accommodating and worked with me with the scheduled appointment. Once at the shop, John greeted me and said the work would be completed in 3 hours. A little over three hours and the work was completed. Needless to say, I am very happy and satisfied with John's work. He is knowledgeable, professional, and honest. I felt the cost for the work was reasonable. I will probably get the front windshield tinted soon and I will definitely go back to JLenin Window Tint. I highly recommend JLenin Window Tint for anyone looking to get their car tinted, especially if you drive a Tesla. read more

Bring your Tesla here, this is a brand you can trust and expect to work with a professional who truly cares about you to provide the highest quality craft. I had 30% Suntek CIR already installed from another shop, but after my rear passenger was sunburnt after minimal sun exposure, I knew it was time to change things up. I searched all over for the best installer in California, and my trips to John's shop have always been worth it. I explained to John my situation and to my surprise, he took a lot of time to patiently help me understand what I really wanted, what I was looking for, and provided me options without pressure. He did all windows including the front and rear windshields in one clean piece in Rayno S9, which many shops don't know how to do. Even more installers don't do know how to do the front windshield correctly, and the damages can be major to the electronic system underneath, but John was very careful in his setup, preparing with soakshield, and other high quality equipment. Also very impressed with the chrome delete his business partner did. Every project was extremely well done, you can tell John did his research in carefully selecting the best professionals to work with for paint protection, vinyl work, and car services outside of his specialty. I can't wait to bring my next Tesla to John! read more

I bought a 2013 Ford Focus hatchback last week and wanted to tint the 2 rear passenger windows and the rear windshield. I got 3 quotes from different places and Carrera Tints was the lowest. I checked their yelp reviews and they were all pretty good so I decided to give them a shot. John was easy to setup an appointment with and is based near Valley Fair/Santana Row. I went with a 5% tint (very dark) rather than a lighter/more visible 20% tint. I dropped the car off and about 1 1/2 hours later John texted me that the car was done. Inspected the tint, looked it over again when I got home and I have zero complaints. Everything looks great. John was super easy to work with and was even willing to drop me off nearby while the tint was being added. All-in-all it was an A+ experience. Highly recommend. read more

Recently me and my friend got our car windows tinted here. Got all 4 windows and rear tinted. They don't have a wide offering to choose from but the offering does the job of sunrays and UV protection. They gave us a good deal when paid in cash and the tint was done quickly in couple of hours. read more

John is awesome. Super friendly guy and stands behind his work. Hard to find that around here. Even reading the small bad reviews he had, he wanted to make it right but didn't have a chance. Not his fault. As a customer I think before writing something bad, let's try and solve this and the manner in which it's solved or end result is what's being judged. The tint is awesome. Toyota FJ, front two windows, 35% and already I feel a difference in the heat of the vehicle. Great product and will definitely come back. When I got there, I received the same high level of service I got more than a decade ago. Some new faces this time. I had asked to see how 70% looked and a sample strip was applied just so I could see how dark it was. I appreciated this extra help. There was clear communication each step of the process, so I never felt lost. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Fast forward a month later, I still see some spots that seemed blurry. I made contact again via Yelp and explained my concern. I was told that a month is more than enough time for it to cure. So we setup an appointment so that they could inspect it and re-do the tint if necessary. Unfortunately, it did seem like it needed to be redone. I'm glad that they had foresight to allow enough time to redo. It's now almost a month later and everything is still great!

After several chats, then a costly ($1,582.45) visit to Tesla Santa Clara-Northwestern Parkway, Fernando installed a new sheet of Expel XR Black Ceramic to my new rear backlite glass for no charge, as promised. As first reported, my rear defroster ribbons were damaged pre-install. This Tesla service center claims this to be wear and tear for a 2018 M3, even when simply cleaning the rear glass. It was not clear to me at the time what could have happened to cause this type of damage. My bad for the misunderstanding. (I suppose the takeaway here is it's best to get your car tinted when the rear defroster is new, not after years of sitting in the sun.)
