Home Sweet Home Inspection - Andy Gardner based in VA was recommended to me, unfortunately I…read morebelieved A Home Sweet Home Inspection - AHSHI - Ryan Siegler based in MD was a part of the same company, therefore I proceeded to move ahead in doing business with the WRONG COMPANY. Ryan is personable and will possibly even make you laugh as he moves throughout your property, he will ultimately provide pictures and a written home inspection report... though I have come to understand that other companies line the pictures up with the issue they intend to convey as a part of their final report, this is not the case with A Home Sweet Home Inspection. Pictures are sent completely separate from written findings, so Seller/Agent will have to decipher issues on their own. I am a first-time homebuyer who emailed AHSHI to request a quote based on my contractual requirements. A chimney inspection was part of the required services; and I was provided a verbal quote by Ryan in accordance with these required services. At the inspection I was advised that he is not licensed to scope out the chimney to ensure no structural damage, though he did open the flue to glance up into the chimney which he self-determined to be a chimney inspection. I was never asked a question about what my interpretation of a chimney inspection entails, but what Ryan did in inspecting my fireplace is not what my contract details as a chimney inspection. So you are thinking that we must have come to an agreement on a reduced price noting that he did not provide the requested service... no Sir, no Maam. So I write this review as a BUYER BEWARE... PLEASE copy and paste your contractual requirements to ensure that you provide in writing exactly what services you need performed AND ensure that you receive a quote in writing (as MD state law requires that any service over $500 must be accompanied by a quote). This unfortunately was not the case in my business transaction, and I only discovered this requirement after our disagreement over services. I chalk this up to a novice error on my part and wish Mr. Siegler continued success as he continues in his day to day business transactions... though I respectfully agree to disagree on whether his fireplace inspection can be construed as a chimney inspection, as we verbally agreed on after his review of written request for quote. All in all, I spoke with other more experienced companies on HomeAdvisor on the day of my scheduled inspection and wish I had cancelled my verbal contract with A Home Sweet Home Inspection, based on prices as well as delivered product. If you are looking for just the basics this may be the company for you, though prices are more than where the market is at on most services ($375 vs. $300 home inspection and $200 vs. $139-$145 radon). Ryan purports to provide a home inspection service as if his mother were moving into the home... in my case I cannot tell if Ryan loves his mother or not, as I am purchasing a property without the chimney inspection we agreed upon, and time and money just did not permit me to contract another service provider that could perform the service in advance of the 7-day home inspection contractual time frame. :/ Ryan will tell you that you will receive your report in 24-48 hours, but please bake a little more time in as the radon report (a contractual requirement) was received after the 7-day time frame and written report received after myself and Realtor followed up multiple times, with me worried that I would have to execute a contingency plan to have another company come out to provide inspection due to not receiving report in the time specified. If you are looking for a nice guy this is your place... if you are about your business and need folks to keep their word and provide a service as contracted, GOOD LUCK. Less

John came as a strong recommendation through our realtor and he fully executed on his service. He pinpointed specific areas in our property that were immediate areas of opportunity (ex. requesting water location was turned on during the final walk-through to confirm no issues) to highlights of the property that he felt confident that we as the buyers should know (ex. his professional input on the life of the roof). Overall, the most impressive characteristic John demonstrated was his attention to detail. John left no stone unturned during his inspection which gave my wife and I the confidence in the property.
