I went here with some friends for a quick lunch since we were in the area. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating with a decent amount of options from sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads and breakfast items. There is parking on the premises, but if the lot is full there are marked spots for two hour parking on the street. The restaurant was moderately filled with other customers. We sat inside and were given menus quickly. I had ordered the gourmet turkey sandwich on the menu. The portion of the sandwich was quite big. It was basically a turkey blt sandwich with avocado. The description for the sandwich said it was suppose to have an avocado mayo spread, but it was more like avocado slices and plain mayo as the spread, but I'm jut being real picky. The edge of the bread was a little burnt and I think the bacon was not as crispy as it could have been. The service was pretty average. The meal was decent, but nothing spectacular. read more

Let me say then I've been going to this place probably about 15 years. I would say 80% of the time was for breakfast the others were for lunch or dinner. This one star review is just for my meal last night that me and my wife had. Horrible. I ordered the special which was hey grilled center cut pork chops stuffed with mozzarella and bacon. When it come to the table I thought the bacon was raw inside of the pork chop when I cut it open. It was the pork chops that was red as can be uncooked and raw. My wife got the same thing except no mozzarella or bacon. Her first cut was good her second cut it was the same red raw meat. I'm not talkin rare I'm talkin uncooked horrible looking. The waitress was nice she apologized and took both dishes back gave us menus. I ordered simple chicken quesadillas which for okay. My wife ordered a burger and said she wanted no bun. It came with the bun but no grilled onions no grilled peppers and no cheese like the description on the menu said?? ? The waitress apologize again and brought my wife a plate of onions. No peppers? I tasted my wife's burger and it was plain as can be no seasoning or anything. Once the bill came there was no money taking off or anything I really thought this place wouldn't be so hard up for my $39 and would give me something if not everything off. I'm not looking for a free meal but again I think they need a real manager or someone on premise instead of just waitresses and possibly a senior waitress being the manager? If it was my restaurant minimally I would have gave one meal for free and saving someone 15 or 20 bucks would maybe make their horrible experience not be as bad. My wife said I should complain and ask for a manager but I pay for my meal and still left a decent tip. Others beware this place might be best just for breakfast. Also has a lot of seasonal or younger waitresses that need to learn how to write down someone's order so they can give it to the chef and not just verbally do it. That being said looks like there was a male and female chef by the grill they could have got me and my wife very very sick they need to watch their cooking more. Came here with my father for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. The sausage was probably the best breakfast sausage I've ever had. It tasted like a mini bratwurst. I probably told the waiter like 3 times how good it was. I got the Hawaiian French Toast and it was really good. The sauce for the toast that came with it was cold in a hot cup which was strange but it still tasted really good. My father got the challa French toast which was crispy and delicious as well. I ordered the skirt steak which was lack luster. The menu said it came with camarlized onions which was missing from the dinner. My wife ordered the blackened fish rubin which was good. She ordered sweet potato fries with it instead of French fries which was included. When we got the check to my surprise there was a $4 upcharge for the sweet potato fries. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said "oh well sorry". We should have been told in advance that there was an up charge. Four dollars seems very excessive. I won't be back. read more

We never learn. We want to love this place. It's charming and the help is usually really nice. The owner's nice. But the food, well, sucks. When you get a salad with chicken and the chicken's ice cold and rubbery, you know it was cooked and frozen. Maybe cooked in a factory in Texas for all I know. Maybe frozen for months. Come on guys, at least try! You're buying pre-made meals and your help doesn't even know how to heat them up or arrange them on a plate. And I pay $50 for lunch for this? Got takeout since we live in Point Lookout. 1st impression should have told me that this isn't going to be good. We ordered (2) salads (Mediterranean and Caesars) 1 to go salad had a fly inside flying around trying to escape. They remade it but I should have left right there. There were flies inside the restaurant all around. The salads when we got home were a bit brown and not crispy. Breaded Chicken Wrap was not great either. Very salty. The food was gross. I returned my meal. It was the Waldorf chicken salad wrap. It had no flavor, the chicken was like leather, the lettuce was brown and there was supposed to be raisins and walnuts, I could not find one walnut and the raisins were dry and squished into a corner of the wrap. I returned my meal. My husband did not like his meal either. He ordered the Roma chicken Panini. He said it was greasy and had no flavor. The french fries were super thin and short - like matchsticks. The whole meal was awful. They have gone way downhill. Came here on a Monday night this summer for dinner with a friend and we were seated right away on the patio. Our waiter was really nice and he let us sit and chat for a while before coming to take our orders because I guess he noticed we were gossiping too much to even look at the menu. He suggested that we try the white wine sangria, and who am I to turn down that suggestion? It was super good! I also ordered the grilled chicken panini with roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella. I haven't been here since I was a kid and WOW the difference. This has always been an amazing hidden gem. They use to only serve breakfast but now they're onto lunch and dinner! Amazing. Perfect place for brunch! They have every flavored mimosa you can think of. Try the peach! It's nice bubbly and sweet! The regular orange gave me such a pop of flavor my mouth watered! I tried a skillet of totts with two sunny side eggs, cheese and bacon bits. It was delicious and super filling. I'm really impressed with the renovation and the menu options. I recently had a not-so-great experience at Jo Jo Apples which saddens me because I really wanted to continue going to this place. A bunch of us girls came here for brunch. We were seating pretty fast even though we were a pretty large group (6 of us). The restaurant was closing early for a private dinner, which I understand, but they were totally rushing us. If they were short on time, they should have not seated us. No one wants to rush through a meal. We ordered iced coffees and they were basically thrown on our table. My cup had a hole in the bottom so coffee was leaking. I could barely get anyone's attention. She finally came over and took the cup. 10 minutes later she gave THE SAME CUP to someone else. Same problem. It was so messy. Everything we ordered, there was something she didn't have. No avocado, no this, no that. If you aren't prepared to have it, don't keep it on the menu. The food was good but our experience with the service made the meal much less memorable. What a shame. read more

We ordered pancakes , a side of bacon & the French toast special . My pancakes looked like crepes they were so flat & tasteless . My bacon was burned . I was the lucky one - my husband took 2 bites of his French toast & began to gag . Then he proceeds to pull a 10 inch string or piece of dental floss out . Not exceptable the dish was sent back and a medium rare too rare cheeseburger was ordered again not exceptable the atttitude Of the waitress thru this dinner was as if we were bothering her , she had a typical teacher attitude as if waiting on us was beneath her ????? I am a four star chief in my own right !!!! You as owners work very hard for your restaurant and your reputation !!!!!!! I will stick too breakfast only my recommendation for all who will patronize your establishment .... You need too look into what is going on in your restaurant !!!! My recommendation too all come for breakfast go else where for the rest !!!!! In addition during covid 19 rules the wine glass had lipstick stains an the salad plates were dirty on the wedges and the forks and knives were very slow in coming no disposable menus and utensils!!!! My family starting going to Jo Jo Apples in the summer of 2010. Fresh ingredients. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Fantastic salads. Eat outside and enjoy the fresh air. Breakfast and lunch are quite good. I'm less impressed with the diner menu. read more

My parents and I came here for breakfast and we were all pretty disappointed with our experience. Once we got there we had to put our name down for a table which is understandable so we waited around 25 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated, our waiter came to ask what we wanted to drink but he seemed to be preoccupied and now paying much attention to what we were asking. We ordered some drinks; which were brought out relatively quickly but we weren't brought any water until halfway through our meal. I ordered the egg white veggie omelette. Our food came out in a decent amount of time but my father and I were brought our dishes before my mom and the waiter seemed to have forgotten what she ordered until she reminded him so it seemed like he forgot to put the order in. Once she asked about it it was brought out a bit later. We asked for some ketchup and hot sauce which our server also forgot about for a while and we ended up asking another waitress for it and she brought it to us quickly. The omelette itself was honestly kind of sad. It was so bland, I don't know if they even put salt on it. The fruit cup it came with was fine. After we ate another server came and brought us our check and after we filled it out our server came to us with another check and when he saw that we already had one, he seemed annoyed and just walked away and dropped the check on the floor. October 20 and raining in point Lookout. Stopped in and ask for a table to sit outside and they said they had a list so we left. Ask the lady at the cashier and nasty waitress who said we couldn't even sit outside in the front. After an hour walk we returned and she said they had a list of people waiting for outside. I saw two empty tables but she only had one name on the list. The waitress and the lady behind the counter made faces and were nasty. Now I know why they call this place café attitude or café don't bother eating here because the food is awful and the attitude you get From people is worse than getting the runs in this place which I've always done. They should change this place to the runs and diarrhea and café attitude. It may not be many other places to go and eat but this place definitely deserves zero stars forever. read more

I'm happy to say that this is one of my favorite spots again. After a recent renovation, not only is the place updated but waitstaff and food quality are back up to par! Though a bit crowded it's worth the trip. Most recommended: spicy corn frittata, any pancakes (esp with apple), French toast (if you don't like crispy) or the Asian shrimp wrap as a salad. If you want to come to have a bunch of older women be nasty to you then come. My friends took me there for a birthday brunch and I almost didn't even want to order due to how Beth our waitress made me feel. I asked her for water and she gave me dirtiest look. Very disappointed in this restaurant. First off, they had limited beers. After a couple of Coors Lights, they ran out. The Diet Coke had no syrup in it. The bathroom was atrocious. There must have been a hundred of flies in it. If the board of health had seen it, I'm sure they would have been shut down on the spot. The food was passable at best. The fried chicken was burnt. The steak tidbits was raw. I think there are better options for eating in the area. Our waitress was lovely and seemed to be embarrassed about the conditions there. A great breakfast spot. Indoor and outdoor seating, friendly service. Food always seems to come out in a timely manner if its quite or the place is jumping. Quick with a coffee refill, and the Eggs Benedict are absolutely terrific. I feel bad I haven't tried more on the menu. I've just been so happy with the eggs benedict each time I couldn't bring myself to not order it again each time. Great for families, couples, brunchers, you name it. Let me start off by saying. What TERRIBLE customer service!! A couple of friends and I were looking for a late lunch with some friends and popped into Jo Jo Apples. We were all hungry and excited to get some food. From the second we walked in, the employees were RUDE, PASSIVE, and just UNPLEASANT. Never should a customer be treated with disgust or attitude. To begin with, the waitress forgot our order- MULTIPLE TIMES, then brought us the WRONG order, and when we corrected her, we were asked to "JUST DRINK IT". Not once did she smile, give us the comfort that our questions would be answered and that our service was of priority. She was curt and ignored multiple attempts to remind her what our order was. She did not write down any orders so it is no wonder she kept mistaking our food and drinks! I visit dozens of restaurants a month and have experience as a server, host and manager in the Food Service industry. I hope that the owner of this establishment steps up and attempts to address the awful behavior of this staff member Cheryl. read more
