Jo Jo can make a meeeean breakfast, that's for sure. I went to this place looking for a diner-style breakfast with a side of charm, and that's what was served up. My grandpa lives about two minutes away, so it's an easy place for us to meet for breakfast since he doesn't have to drive too far. My mom and sister joined in this time as well, and I was happy to see we could get a table right away. This place is extremely tiny... about 7-8 tables... so go early! The atmosphere is a tad chaotic due to a tiny staff, but I actually enjoyed watching everything that was going on around me. Coffee was served up right away, and while it wasn't the best I've ever had, it was enough to kick-start my day. The menu has all of the classics on it, and I decided to go with two eggs over a medium, hash browns, and a side of sausage. My mom also ordered pancakes for all of us to share, for which I was so thankful... especially when blueberry syrup was brought over. Everything tasted fresh and just like grandma makes, and there wasn't a clean plate left on the table. The best part was when our server told us she brought the hot sauce we were using from home since she had extra. Not the most sanitary-sounding comment I've ever heard, but it just kind of completed the greasy diner experience for me. Cheap food, big menu, personable wait staff, and classic charm. I'll certainly be back!

3 scrambled eggs, home fries with onions, bacon & cup of grits. #yummy

I like this diner, but the service has not been very good for a long time. Love that they have corn beef and hash

But after an intense Costco trip, we were wanting a hearty sandwich. They are located in a strip mall, where they are many other busy businesses so parking can be a little tough. But going in, they were packed! Tip to tail, it was just people trying to get their food. And, that was us waiting a while to come in to pick up our goods. So, absolutely order ahead because it will make it somewhat easier. We ordered: The JD Cold Shoulder - cold cuts on a garlic roll with chipotle ranch. My husband loved his, and glad he ordered it with the garlic roll. Joe's Spicy Italian - this was spicy and sweet, and it really hits when you love a good spicy italian sandwich. You can choose your bread, and I opted for mine to be on a French roll. Great sandwiches, long wait, but just really good and worth the wait!

I stopped in with coworkers today and it was wonderful. I sat and tried to pick the perfect sandwich, but when I got up to order, I couldn't make up my mind. Well, they were kind enough to "surprise me." Yes, that's an option! My sandwich was spicy, sweet, saucy and delicious. My four "must haves" when it comes to a sandwich. I love to overindulge on a good sub. The people that worked here were awesome and super friendly! The customers were even kind and friendly to one another. I highly suggest trying this place SOON! **my one caveat is that it is a bit pricey, but my coworkers and I all agreed, it's well worth the money!!**

Spot House interestingly offers a wide variety of dishes from burgers, tacos, and sandwiches but obviously I came for the Vietnamese specials. I got a bowl of Hu Tieu aka Phnom Penh noodles soup and it was delicious. Definitely one of the best ones that I have had in the States. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to go back already. If you are a fan of Bánh Xèo then you would love its smaller cousin Bánh Khọt. These crispy Vietnamese pancakes came in bite-sized pieces topped with shrimp and ground pork. This dish is a specialty that you can't normally find around St. Louis area. It's definitely a crowd's favorite and I loved every single bite. Highly recommend that you order this dish. Typically, you would enjoy this with some fresh lettuce and herbs and you would dip the pancake in fish sauce, the liquid gold that elevates the whole dish. If I had to nitpick about one thing, it would be Cơm Gà, the rice and fried chicken leg dish. The chicken was dry and a little bit blend, albeit super crispy. You really gotta dowse it with fish sauce to make it taste better. However, I did enjoy the yellow rice. The rice on the other hand was very well-seasoned. Overall, Spot House might be my new favorite Vietnamese spot in the STL area! Cant wait to come back.
