​This place popped up on Yelp and I was in the mood for diner food. Hubby and I wanted an omelet and our son wanted a burger. What better place to go?! The location is convenient, right on Gravois road. Parking wasn't bad. Nice size resturant. There were about 4 tables occupied with only 1 server. So the service was a bit slow but considering she was the only server, she did a good job managing everyone. Diner vibe so the condiments are already on the table. Seats are uncomfortable with torn fabric. Nothing fancy but that didn't bother us. The food was pretty good too. The toast was over cooked though. It was too hard to our liking but we still ate it. Stopped by here during lunch and was very impressed by their Lenten menu and offers. I got an omelette which came with hashbrowns and a biscuit. The menu had a ton to offer. This is a great place to stop by for breakfast, brunch, or even breakfast for dinner. I recently had the opportunity to visit this restaurant. It had cheap breakfast which is hard to find. I will say it didn't disappoint they had a lot of menu items for breakfast under $10 and they had skillets for under $15 which is great. I ordered pop's breakfast which included 2 pancakes, 3 strips of bacon and 2 eggs your way for $9.75. It was a solid diner breakfast. My server came quickly to the table after I was seated and the food came out not super fast but diner quick and my food was piping hot. I Wil say their pancakes looked heavy and I have had better, they weren't as fluffy as I would have liked but you could tell they were cooked in butter because of the crispy edges like you get at home. Bacon was cooked properly, eggs was a little overcooked but overall it was a solid breakfast for under $10. The ambiance was basic diner, lot of seniors in there when I visited so you could tell it was well liked. Well, arriving at the destination, the parking lot was full of cars. To me that's the first sign, but this is gonna be a good place. My granddaughter and I were seated almost immediately and a waitress took our drink order. The waitress was tentative knowledgeable told us about the daily specials And took our order very short wait time for the order to be delivered to the table. The food was great. We both ordered hamburgers and were impressed with the size of the burger. The ambience was informal and cozy. Strike two Went back to BaB at 11:30 on friday afternoon after having gone there for breakfast another time. We were seated in a few minutes and then that was it. We sat there waiting for our drink order to even be taken. It was well over ten minutes. We saw another table leave that apparently also hadn't ever had drink orders taken and we left shortly after a guy got up, thanked the kitchen, loudly, for making food so quickly and said he was leaving because it had been sitting at the window for a long time and he wasn't in the mood for old, cold food. The worst restaurant I've ever eaten at in my entire life. The food was horrible. I can't believe the waitress even brought it to my table. The filthy white plastic tablecloth stapled to the table along side the dangling paper window shades made me feel like we were eating in a post apocalyptic moment. Food was absolutely AMAZING. Country fried steak, omelets, standard breakfast- ALL DELICIOUS. I did have a small hair in my fried eggs but it happens even when taking precautions. Everything else was clean and delicious. It was also a dimly lit restaurant that gave diner vibes and my table loved it. While the food is enough to keep us as customers in the future, the waitress we had was terrible. We had to ask 3 times for a bagel that was supposed to come with one of our meals, she didn't offer drink refills until giving us the check, never checked in on how the food was after bringing it out, we had to ask for to-go boxes twice, she'd never let us finish a sentence and wouldn't apologize for forgetting things/the hair. For instance, When I told her for the 3rd time that we were still missing the bagel, I also tried to tell her about the hair. However, she stormed away before I could say anything else, grabbed the bagel, threw it on our table and the walked away before we could say anything again. When I finally was able to tell her about the hair (after she gave us our check), she just looked at me and asked if I wanted new eggs and didn't apologize for it or anything. I fully support food service workers and I understand we all have bad days but it was like this girl didn't receive any training and didn't know how to interact with people. We brought someone from New York here to try it before he heads back home and it was unfortunate that this was the dining experience we all left with. Used to love this place before they moved. Food is now mediocre. Paid $2 for a small glass of OJ, poured from a bottle from ALDI, and that's some inexpensive stuff. OMG! Went here for breakfast and it is amazing. Just like a good home town dining. Everything we had was great. I had the Pigs in a blanket. It was a lot of food. Not a complaint just an observation. This place is a SOLID choice when you just want breakfast - no frills, no fancy specials, no specialty bloody mary or mimosa bar... and you just want to EAT. The food is super fast and the price is right; we fed a family of five with drinks and all for $40! The service is really quick and its kind of a step above a greasy spoon so to speak. Pancakes are enormous and fluffy. Omelette was just the right size and right ratio of meat, cheese, and eggs. :) Interesting people watching to boot. Delicious diner food every time! The interior is sparse and mismatched, but homey. Big parking lot on the side. Great value, too. For lunch today I had the BLT club with hash browns instead of fries. The hash browns here are a work of art: light, crispy outsides and soft potato-ey inside, always perfect. The sandwich was double decker with tons of crispy bacon. My sister got the gravy skillet and said it was excellent. On another visit I had a steak bagel sandwich that I still dream about when I'm hungry. Second, they were running around like crazy and it was taking SO long to even get a seat, that I finally placed a to go order. And that was AFTER, I'd read about half the reviews on Yelp, checked my email, and caught up on Facebook. It was a reeeeally long wait. Which with the shortages of employees that a lot of businesses are having, I wouldn't hold it against them, except... I saw this same complaint in lots of the reviews I read. FOOD! Unbelievably good food!!! Had a Chocolate Shake which was new on the menu and a Slinger Burger with lots of chili, eggs and Hashbrowns on top. I like a basic egg, hash browns and toast with good coffee. And today it was served just right. Wheat bread is really white bread tinted. Full menu of classic omelets, pancakes , French toast. Service prompt, friendly, checked if the food was right before she left the table. Bussed tables quickly and accommodated table of 5 with folding chair. Xtra large customers easily accommodated.
