This location is a little bit out of the way, but the food is yummy. They have bbq, club sandwiches, salads, onion rings, etc. There are plenty if options for everyone. You can sit down to eat inside, but they also have a drive-thru. I love their club sandwich & bbq sandwich, plus their onion rings are delicious. It is a little old school & not fast food, so you might have to wait a minute, but it is usually worth the wait.

The last time we visited SC, we didn't get around to going to this place (although we did buy their sauce to take home). My girlfriend has told me for three years now this is her favorite BBQ. I'm really glad I got to try it in their restaurant and not just the sauce I was able to bring home last time. I had gotten the Big Joe sandwich basket. I definitely enjoyed it. Everything was delicious and fresh. The breading on the onion ring was everything though. I hate onions and I'd eat like 10 of those by myself. However, knowing now how delicious the rice and hash actually is, the only thing I would change would be that I would get the Big Joe plate just for the hash alone!

Cute little atmosphere. Never heard of a bbq place with no homemade Mac n cheese though...

Sausage is ok, and likes the chicken when he is in the mood for it. He hasnt had anything there that he doesnt like. I loved the turkey, baked beans and Mac n cheese. Our Hurricane drink was pretty delicious( with part of the proceeds goes to a charity for that one particular drink). The server was polite and friendly. They smoke and bbq all the meats right out back of the restaurant so the food came out quick, fresh and amazing! I personally loved the Mustard and Sweet Red sauces while my husband prefers the slight heat of the Jalapeño sauce . The recipes for the sauces are hanging up on the walls as part of the decor. The only thing i could knock them for is the bathroms were a little dingy. Not really super dirty, just needs some updating with new tiles and paint. Overall great place and we will definitely will be returning!

However, I feel like we've had better barbecue up north than we did here... We ordered a brisket plate + a pork belly plate to share with mac & cheese, grits and corn pudding. The brisket was dry and flavorless. The pork belly was more fat than meat. Thank goodness for the variety of delicious sauces they provided with our meals! I'm giving two stars for the sides & sauces being pretty good but that's about it. I don't know the area but I'm sure you can find better meats elsewhere :(

We had fried pickles for the table. My daughter got brisket, my son got a burger and fries, and I had the 3 meat plate (sausage, brisket, and pork) with Mac and cheese and hash and rice. Everything on my plate had a nice, smoky flavor to it but was otherwise underwhelming. The sauces lacked real flavor and were bland. The hash was bland and the mac and cheese was just mush with too much flour and too little cheese. My son described his burger as "OK". Inside the decor had that Cracker Barrel thing going on where it's made to look old timey but comes off as manufactured, but you're here for food not aesthetics. Nothing really jumped off the table at me as "this is good". Maybe I am spoiled by having lived near so many stellar smokehouses when I was in the Columbia area, but paying $86 after tip for 3 people to eat very mid grade BBQ and the plates weren't really loaded down, when I could spend less for buffet at Shealy's or Hudson's and have an outstanding meal just doesn't feel great. At the same time, nothing was offensive. It just didn't scratch the BBQ itch for me. J.Ja

Ambiance was ok, a bit dark on some areas, had to use my phone to check if our was food was cooked. Towards the end, they charged us for a BBQ & hotspot even through we only had the BBQ. Advertised price was correct but when we called and explained the issue, they said it was "stagnant" and were charging everyone with the BBQ & hotpot price. I'm not sure what that meant when we called for clarification...The server didn't clarify the price changes, if so, we would have tried the hotpot. In addition, once paid server left the table while I was waiting to get a printout of the receipt. Didn't bother to come back. Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and they surprised him with a cheesecake at the end which was kind of the staff! This location has more variety of food options compared to the North CHS Burnin' 99 plus didn't get much smoke from the center stove. There's no one or the other when it comes to ordering, this location requires hotpot and bbq for guests at this location. For my hotpot, I got the original broth which seemed a little more cream/milk based than the usual mushroom broth I go for..I skipped the rice and loaded up on the shelled mussels, garlic butter shrimp, bulgogi beef, and mushrooms to name a few. They got a wall of shelves dedicated to ramen, buckwheat noodles, rice noodles! You can make any type of sauce and their leafy greens are a nice option. I usually try the udon but didn't have enough room this time but it's really good! Courteous staff and they got plenty of booth seats. Another great meal at Burnin' 99!

This time we climbed to the second floor to find a table at what I would describe as the most inviting bar in the South due to the eclectic decor and the appearance of the bar itself with dozens of upside down bottles hanging from the ceiling that at first I thought they were there just to decorate the place but nooo! they actually poured the specialty bourbon we ordered which BTW was very good and was only 90 proof which was a very nice match to my Yingling, we spent about two hours there and not because the service was slow but because we were having a good time, at times was a little loud but my out of town friends truly enjoyed the kind of place, they said that next time they come to town they would like to come back to the very same table. The conversation and good times is what kept me from taking a picture of the dishes I ordered the Cajun Pasta, was absolutely delicious and will order again the next time I go back, wife ordered the Pecan pork chops and said it was made with her cravings in mind I won't be waiting for out of towners to come in order to go back, this has become my most trusted and preferred Southern restaurant in Chucktown/Summerville area, no questions and way better than any distant second best that we have been, make it 8 stars! The process is a bit confusing as far as grabbing a menu then ordering at the counter then they bring your food, so we decided to sit at the bar where it's full service. The bartender was amazing. She had recommendations and let me try a drink before fully committing. We ordered the Golden Hour fries with yum yum sauce (amazing), the crab rangoons, pulled pork noodles and red beans and rice with chicken. The crab rangoons are not what you think of for traditional rangoos. They're actually hush puppies with a crab dip. The hush puppies are incredible and we just spooned the dip on top. Different but delightful. The pulled pork noodle bowl was a bit of a let down. It truly was just a heap of noodles and some pork. The pork was really really good, but I was surprised the noodles had no flavor and overwhelmed the bowl. The red beans and chicken had much more flavor, it was bone in chicken however the flavor was really nice. The drink menu is thoughtfully curated and crafted with some really unique options. We tried a highball and a frozen drink and both were really tasty. Next time I think I will order a BBQ plate so I can have more of the actual meat because it was really good, but I'm glad I tried something a little different.
