We had a great experience with Joe Grab tree service. Courtney was really helpful with making changes to the work we wanted done and getting the estimate just right and scheduling everything. Justin the estimator was very helpful with answering questions about the health of our trees, what may have caused the issues and then answered my questions about making sure the area was prepped and ready for the crew. The crew came on time and got our large, diseased tree down and cleaned up in a few hours. The stump grinding was also very quick, the guy was very kind and efficient. He offered to grind a couple other small stumps while he was here which we hadn't thought of and really appreciated, and also helped us figure out what some small piping was (old irrigation lines) and was really helpful in making sure it would be safe to grind in that area. 18 arborvitae, 2 cedar trees, four bushes and a horrible fern that was creating a massive mess plus cleaning up our back tier and the team at Joe Grab Tree Service knocked it all out in 92 degree weather flawlessly in less than 6hours. They removed all the debris, use the chipper on the big stuff, swept and when they left it was clean and amazing. I had a rose plant under one of the trees and they didn't harm it all and the tree was taller than our home! These guys are pros at what they do, I highly recommend them!!! read more

Lost a giant tree in a wind storm and it barely missed our house. Even though the company was busy, Joe was able to come out within 2 hours on a Friday and he squeezed our removal of 4 trees in when he had a cancellation a few days later. 4 men, 3 giant trees, 1 smaller tree and 4 hours later, everything was chopped down, chopped up, stacked in the front yard and clippings from limbs were taken with them. My experience was identical to Robin M's. Joe came out, took a look at what needed to be done, took notes, said I'd get a quote at the end of the day. That was weeks ago. In the interim I did receive a quote, I signed, and work was scheduled on a Wednesday--waited for him all afternoon. No show. Apologies and promises from Courtney: "I am waiting to discuss the schedule with Joe and will give you a call back by this evening. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I hired Joe to remove a couple trees in my yard. The tree in the front they left a 3' stump when they were supposed to leave it lower to the ground. I discussed this with his workers, who told me at the time they would be back the next day to cut it. Of course they didn't come. After several calls to the office they finally sent a couple guys out that were ill prepared, one saw that was broken and the other had dull saw blade. The chopped at it a while but they never finished the job and never came back. It was my mistake to have paid Joe in cash when he called and said he needed the money to pay his guys. You should hire someone other than this company to work for you. read more

I wonder why Yelp posted pictures I sent showing the terrible hank job Joe Grab crew did on my hedges. The pictures indicate where the hedges needed to be cut so I could pass an inspection and what the job looked like when they were finished? Perhaps I wasn't clear with my 1-star review. Joe looked at my hedges and I told him the county required they be cut back 3ft from the street and I wanted them to be squared up and about 8ft tall. He gave me a bid for the job and I accepted it. His crew left debris and tools on my neighbor yard, and a ladder in mine so I thought they were not done. But the next day an employee came to pick up the tools and told me they were swamped and would come back to fix the hedges. His office left a message stating they did the best they could because my hedges were so overgrown. Joe saw the hedges, I told him what I wanted done and he gave me the bid. I am an elderly disabled person and never used a chain saw, but I had to do the job with the help of two neighbor ladies so I could pass the county inspection. It has been over 2 months and Joe has never responded therefore I am posting this review again to clarify the pictures posted were showing that Joe did not do the job I hired him to do. We had 4 large Catalpa trees, a mutant arbor vitae, and several neglected shrubs that needed to go. I made an appointment for Joe to come by midweek at 0930. At 0950, no one had showed up nor called, so I left a message at the office. Great work by Joe and his crew! I had a very large cherry tree removed from my front yard last weekend and they did a excellent job at removing it and grinding the stump. I recieved estimates from 5 other companies and Joe came in $125 to $775 LESS than the others. I also asked to have some of the stumps cut to be "seat level" to use as seats around a fire pit and they cut me multiple perfect heights. I would definitely recommend and will call again if I need any other services. read more

Joe Grab ROCKS! He is terrific. He installed a beautiful new front lawn for us. His crew was very professional, and he was great about accommodating our job to fit in his busy schedule. He was super in regards to communication with prompt call backs though he usually answered his phone. He came back promptly to modify the sprinklers to our liking after the job was done, and he even looked at a sprinkler problem.......AND he watered our garden to help out when he was there and the sprinkler was still not working and he knew we were out of town. I found these guys on Craigslist while I was looking for an affordable way to encourage my neighbor to actually remove the tree he had been promising to remove for the last 3 years ;-) Being Craigslist my hopes were set accordingly low but their CCB record checked out clean and they had been licensed since 2007 so I arranged for them to come give an estimate. I was very happy with the professionalism of their estimator and also the estimate was extremely competitive. My neighbor and I split the cost which made the process a little tricky but their receptionist/secretary took it all in her stride and was incredibly easy to work with.
