I've returned here a few times now. The dogs are delicious and it's fun experiencing a new flavor each time. This last visit was frustrating though. I tried the online ordering to save myself the wait. It was easy to do and you can customize your order just like in person. My order was ready to go when I arrived... or so I thought. When I was handed my order, the receipt was verified and I was asked if that was everything. I had ordered a shake, which was listed, and I had to ask for it. No big deal, maybe it's an off day. I checked one of the boxes while the shake was readied and my fries were good. I collected my food and went to my car and checked the other box before I left. Lo and behold, I'm missing a dog. This is where I got frustrated. It wasn't a matter of just not being in my box, they didn't even make it. Now you may say, big deal, you had to wait a few extra minutes. That shake that I had to ask for was left dying in my car while I waited and the dogs I did have got soggy. It was very inconvenient when I was trying to use a fun and convenient tool. This isn't the first time an item from my order wasn't given to me. Luckily, the last time this happened it was only a matter of handing me the missing item and I could go on my way. To the owner of Joe Schmoes, I hope this review finds you well. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for quite a while and love the food and the establishment. It's disappointing to say that tonight was some of the poorest service we've had from one of our favorite places. We were assisted by James and ordered two regular meals and one kids meal. After reviewing our receipt, we realized there were charges that did not make sense. We asked James to explain our receipt charges to us and we were told that a sandwich alone is a $10 purchase and to make it a meal is an extra $7.25 and that extra charge for a meal changes based on what you order...our other $10 sandwhich was charged an extra $8.50 to make it a meal. Adding to those charges, we were also charged a combo fee of $2.50 for beer on top of the $4.95 we paid for the two beers themselves. So in summary we were told that a meal for one individual costs about $20 due to a combo fee and we spent over $50 to feed 2 adults and 1 child. We expressed our confusion regarding the charges and James responded by telling us "I just work here, there's nothing I can do for you". Furthermore, he informed us that this is how the establishment charges its customer's now. We love the restaurant and have always recieved great service, but after tonight's encounter we aren't too sure we'd want to return if this is really how the customer's of Joe Schmoes are going to be serviced. read more

Recently went here and wanted to know what all the hype was about! I loved how cute this place was inside it felt like a cool hangout place. I got a secret menu item and it was pretty good. My girls got corn dogs and they never really eat the food but they ate the whole corn dog and fries they loved it which is surprising because they are picky eaters. Their tots were cooked perfectly and our food came our pretty fast even though there was a fundraiser going on and they had a lot of orders. After eating the hot dog this place boasts about, my family and I decided to give it a try. The hotdog is so small that it's as wide as your pinky finger. This establishment has terrible customer service. The cashier had me walk up to the counter as I was getting ready to order she did not say two words to me. She did not say "Hi" or "One moment please". Another cashier gladly assisted me. I had just walked in so Im not sure what was going on so I shrugged it off and ordered. Joe Schmoe's hot dogs are high quality with full flavor and are excellent. They offer several style of dogs or design your own if you like. The dogs have that 'snap' to them with the natural casing which make them so good. Now, I love tater tots and they serve them here. The chili is a thinner chili but works well on a dog or fries with cheese of course. I believe they brew their own root beer and was real good. The people are friendly, it's clean and well taken care of. It looks like they acquired the unit next door and is pretty cool. The area has displays you can see from most any seats, they spend some money on plexiglass to Maximus the seating. We just need to make sure the Governor doesn't close these places or create even more costs and hoops for them to jump thru. It shows they spent some money to make it comply for the long haul.
