Donuts

Service was good. The place was clean. I had an apple crumble donut. It was delicious. To me the hamburger steak was dry and plain tasting, but I will go there and buy some more donuts .

The young lady was looking at me through the glass sipping and stirring her coffee. She finally arrived to the widow and proceeded to take my order. I ordered 2 glazed cream donuts. My total was $3.12 a bit high for 2 donuts. But what the hell, it was too late and I was hungry. I gave the girl a $5 bill and she literally shoved $1.88 in change in my hand. Well imma assume it was $1.88. I was so disgusted with her attitude I just threw the change in my wallet. I asked her if she had any dollars she just laughed and said "NO" mind you I've seen her give the car infront of me change and they had some dollar bills. You can't tell me that that this time of busy morning you have run out of dollar bills.. WHEN I SAY, I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT NOT EVER

This is the $17.00 fish platter (with EXTRA fish)from JOE'S Cafe on Lapalco in Marrero. For $17.00? Two pieces of fish cut up.

Don't get the fish platter from here. Not worth it-$17.00... For what? Paid for EXTRA fish. All they did was cu UPDATE: want to say THANK YOU to the owner Jacquie B. of JOE'S Cafe on Lapalco for acknowledging my concerns, I appreciate that; for that alone I give you 5 stars! I look forward to continue to being your customer.

I hate cash only joints! Get a credit and debit card system people! Convenience for the customer! Sheesh! Okay...that rant is over. New Orleans and the metropolitan area has too many great food spots, that are quite inexpensive to make this a go to establishment. One good thing about this place is that they are open always, which is what many food places were in New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina. They also serve breakfast all day for you folks that just love eating breakfast at all times of the night and day. I actually have to admit that their taste is decent. Not the best I have had in New Orleans, but definitely will do in a pinch. I don't like the fact they are quite pricey for a place that is slightly about a hole in the wall establishment. All in all, you have a chef cooking the full menu all day. They also have donuts of many varieties, which includes a really popular Texas sized doughnut that can't seem to stay on the shelf! Make this place a last resort if you are around it, and you awaken in the middle of the night with the munchies!!!

I ate about 2 peices of onion ring.....

Ok, So my sister came home with food from a diner....My absolute favorite!! It was a burger and fries didn't taste the fries but boy was the burger good.. The bread was so good, that sweet sourdough and the meat tasted frozen but not overcooked. All in all, I was Hungry, it tasted good. Fast forward to today. We are in the car and makes an unplanned stop. Says she wants donuts. Being the meat eater I am, I said I'm going to look at the menu. Long story short... 2 breakfast burgers (with fried egg and bacon), 2 onion rigs subbed for the fries at an extra 2.75$ per order and an order of egg rolls. all totaled to $34.00. The onions rings would have been good if they were fried in fresh grease. They were thin slices and coated lightly. The burgers were well overdone even though they were both ordered as medium. The egg rolls were so good!! They were seafood, like crawfish and shrimp with a jelly pepper sauce. It has potential to be so much more but I think I'll pass for a while.

In the photo you can see two roaches crawling all over the donut boxes. Food was infested! Eat here at your own risk!!
Sydney B.

Beware! Roaches!! If I could give this place -5 stars I would. Picked up 55 breakfast sandwiches and two dozen donuts for the PGA Tour at Zurich. They were all covered in roaches and my car was a roach motel! Called the manager to let her know that I needed a refund because I had to throw all the food away and she insisted her establishment didn't have roaches and was not apologetic whatsoever. Nastiest place I've ever been to. Nastiest employees/management.

From the minute we walked in we felt so welcome. Everyone was friendly and our server, Daniela, was awesome! She called us "baby" and I'm here for all of that! The restaurant is colorful and happy inside which was so nice and comfortable. Our coffee cups were never empty. Food was delicious! I had the fried catfish with eggs and grits and my fiancé had the fried crawfish breakfast. Biscuits were wonderful and the Aebelskivers (pancake fried dough) they have were incredible!! Highly recommended! Yes we ordered too much food and we were not mad about it! Dining room was well lit and clean. Unisex bathroom with changing table for the little ones was also clean! Cant wait to come back!

We checked into our nearby hotel a bit early in the day and was looking to hit the streets for a spot to get a chill/light breakfast, a coffee and maybe a cocktail. We found all the things at Luzianne Cafe. Whether you belly up to the bar or grab a table, both of which are first come first serve, you start at the counter where you order, pay and grab your table number. It appears that during busy times they allow you to sit first and order from the QR at your table, this is an assumption given the code to order at the table, but the sign at the entry directed folks to the counter to order before sitting. For breakfast, we got the breakfast biscuit which came with eggs, bacon and cheese, and sided it with grits. The breakfast sandwich was solid, eggs were a bit soft and grits were more mealy than we are used to, but I think that may be authenticity of the area more than anything. I opted for the three option omelet with onion, sausage and gouda plus a side of sausage links. The omelet, though odd sounding combination turned out to be solid. Maybe it was my options, but it was decently "one note" in flavor. I tossed a little hot sauce on and that helped. However, while the sausage links were not much to look at, they were tasty, with a nice snap to the casing and meaty inside. To go with our breakfast, I got a cold brew with a splash of almond milk while my partner embraced NOLA and started his day with a bourbon sour. Both of us enjoyed our choices! Service was friendly and helpful at the counter/bar. The food runner was nice and then another member, assuming the Manager, that stopped by to check on us mid meal. She was super friendly and nice. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and drinks at Luzianne. Minor things noted, mainly on the cook of the eggs, but nothing awful. It his the spot and checked the boxes!

Dough Nguyener's Bakery -- 4…read more Dough Nguyener's really introduced me and my son to the flavors of ube and pandan... and I still can't believe I went my whole life without them. Like where have I been?! We are forever grateful for that alone. As someone who already loves Vietnamese culture through food here in New Orleans, this place just hits. Vietnamese coffee is a staple for me--not even for energy, but for the flavor. If you know, you know... that bold, strong, chicory-meets-condensed-milk moment. It's rich, it's cultural, it's intentional. And when you start adding things like pandan cold foam? Simple, but it speaks volumes about the influence and beauty of the Vietnamese community here. I respect it, deeply. Now let's talk about that Croffle... a croissant-waffle situation. I went with the Chantilly and berries because... you already know, I'm gonna choose what feels like home every time. The cream was smooth, the fruit was fresh, everything worked. My only thing--personally--it was a little heavy on the almonds for me. Still good, just my preference. We also had The American--eggs, bacon, French ham, hand-cut fries, garlic aioli, and a baguette. I shared it with my son and made my own little sandwich moment with it. Used the aioli as a base, layered the eggs, bacon, and ham... and I feel like that's exactly what it was meant for. Solid, simple, and filling. I've tried a few other things too like the bánh mì and donuts. The bánh mì was good, donuts were okay... not my go-to for that. But that frozen cocktail? Listen... it was TOO good. Took it to a festival with me and between that drink and that sun, I slept the whole festival away lol. Overall, I'll definitely be back. I still want to try more from the kitchen--especially that chicken everybody keeps talking about. This is a great spot for early weekend brunch, late evening studying, or weekday coffee runs. Not too small, not too big. Beautiful lighting. A really good addition to Gretna.

April 19 ( today ) was one of those days that leave you scrat hing your head in amazement. It was the wife and I and another couple a father and his kid. The place was empty. Everything started off fine I get my usual iced tea and coffee with a donut . After we got that is when everything went downhill faster than an Olympic skier. Our waitress was the short and wide woman with dark brown hair..She's been pretty decent in the past as she's waited on us before without any issues. Today wasn't one of those days. We had to get another waitress to take our order and she said she doesnt take orders she would have to " FIND " our waitress...We ordered and a few minutes later our food was placed on the expedite shelf where it stayed for exactly 7 minutes and 35 seconds. The cooks even shouted a second time for our waitress . We'll she thought playing around with the napkin dispensers was more important than taking care of her customers....When we finally got our food it was Stone Cold , I'm not one that will easily complain about the smallest detail but this was utterly ridiculous for only 2 couples in the place...I can see things might be skipped here and there in a Full House but Damn. We had to chase her down every time we needed something or use other waitresses to chase her down because they didn't want to serve us because we weren't their customers. After everything was said and done we got to-go boxes and I told the waitress how cold the food was for the extraordinary ammount of time it spent on the shelf and that I was just gonna take it home and heat it up... Did I get a Sorry? ..NOPE.....Did I get anything comped ( Which I wouldn't expect or accept )...NOPE..... I'm not one of those people that complain just for the sake of complaining... Our waitress was on another planet today , her body was in the restaurant but her brain was somewhere else... Needless to say we paid for our COLD meal and the Tip I gave her reflected our service this morning ..."
