Honestly this had to be the worst place to go. For you to be paying $44.99 for two clusters of crab legs, half an ear of corn, a sausage link and one red potato cut into eighths, it is definitely NOT worth it. We had multiple instances that made this experience a nightmare. From dirty glasses and drinks that tasted like mop water to bacon being raw on one of our party's burgers, all the way to the table being disgustingly dirty with somebody's leftover crab leg pieces, I do not recommend you eating here. To top it all off, we had to disinfect and clean our own table since it wasn't done prior to us being seated. However, for the price and the amount of work to get mostly tiny morsels of crab meat, it was unsatisfying. The tools provided worked just ok. The crackers didn't work most of the time because the shell was too soft. Is that normal? Using the yellow, plastic cutting tool was tedious and slow. I finally thought to ask for a tiny fork, which would have been nice to have from the start. By the time the server brought the fork, I was close to done. Although friendly, our server was not very helpful. Maybe she was too busy to provide attentive service, which is a shame because more help when ordering and getting started with our crab legs could have made a big difference with our experience. Very neat place to take in lunch or dinner at Branson Landing! The food is always very good (especially the coconut shrimp)! However, as most seafood places, it is rather expensive...though I do feel you get more for your money's worth compared to comparison restaurants! Seating outside was dirty and seating was greasy. It was necessary to wipe off seats our selves as they were wet from food and had other debris. We found the server to be nice but gave mediocre service, perhaps she was overwhelmed. Cannot see us returning. It would be a good idea to clean the buckets the paper towels and unwrapped cutlery kept in at the table. Over all we found the food to be decent. We actually left and went over to Waxy O'Shea's and split a fish & chips cause we were still hungry! That's INSANTY! First off, let me say the service was top notch. Katiana, our waitress was very attentive. The great service and management are for the 4 stars. I got a crab steamer basket and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife got the crab cakes dinner. She said the crab cakes were very good but the vegetable sides were very disappointing. The sides were steamed white rice and steamed vegetables, neither of which had any seasoning. She felt for the price we paid for her dinner, it should have been of better quality. My boyfriend and I had our first experience eating at a Joes Crab Shack and unfortunately it will be our only experience... The only good thing I have to say is that the customer service was great. I can not say the same about our meal. It took us over 30 minutes after ordering to receive our entrees. I could understand that if the place was packed out but it was basically an empty house. Maybe 8 tables total in the whole restaurant. Once our meal arrived, it was very disappointing. I ordered the Mahi/skewered shrimp/bay scallops special served with rice and broccoli. I asked for dirty rice instead of the white rice that came with it and I'm glad I did. That was the only thing on my plate with any flavor. The Mahi was over cooked with no seasoning. I could hardly cut it with my fork. The shrimp were over cooked to the point that I could hardly pull the tail off and they were stuck to the skewers. They were extremely tough and rubbery. And again, no seasonings. The bay scallops were ok. They were just basic fried scallops with a little seasoning. Probably frozen from a bag... The broccoli was over cooked. My boyfriend ordered the fish and chips which is usually a safe choice at a seafood restaurant... The fries tasted stale, like they had sat too long and been dumped back in the fryer to warm them up. The coleslaw was warm. The fish had no flavor and was dry/over cooked. He said he's had better fish from Long John Silvers... He sent his food back and was offered another entree but we did not have the time to wait another 30 minutes for a disappointing meal. I would have sent mine back had I not been so hungry. Fortunately the management adjusted our ticket by removing his fish and chips and discounting my $23 plate. When you're paying $20+ for food, there's a certain quality that is expected. Tried to dine in two evenings in a row, 3.5 hour wait each night, (they take call in reservations 6 hrs ahead of time) they would giggle as they told numerous people this (as people came in and then left) it even went up to 4 hrs as we sit there and waited on our online order that I made in restaurant and had our food in 30 minutes and had to pay a $8 pickup fee, completely ridiculous, sat on their porch in heat to eat our $91 meal.. and the inside of restaurant had numerous empty tables, (offer them to online order customers to just sit at) There was 4-6 employees standing or sitting at podium entrance area at the time we were there, get up and work, this location needs a better management team. The guy all dressed in black sitting by the laptop in waiting area, never helped or did anything the whole time we were there, I'd say he was a manager, but he never left the chair, he wasn't on the laptop either, he was looking at his phone, not talking to anyone. So, we've gone to Joe's before in IL & MO close to where we live, most of the time they were packed... The food was good and most of the time the service was ok so it truly surprised me when those locations closed... Typically when traveling I choose a place I've never gone before, but to my surprise there's a JCS in Branson so I thought may as well... We ventured over to Joe's Crab Shack after a terrible service issue at the Mexican Restaurant in the same area. We were seated right away and our drink orders were filled promptly. We placed our orders and waited. And waited. And waited. We didn't raise much fuss despite the fact that it was not busy (on a Monday at right around 5pm) because we were a large party of 9. We did become concerned when a group of 18 came in, got seated, received their drink orders and got their food before us. When we finally did receive our food, the $60+ steamer meal for 2 was cold and basically inedible. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. The meal cost over $200 and we still ended up going to chick-fil-a for dinner. It was our first trip to Branson and we certainly will not return to this location to eat on our next trip. read more
