This was our first time visiting Joe's Diner. The specials all looked delicious. The hot cocoa was very hot and delicious with a hint of cinnamon. I enjoyed the pumpkin pancakes while others enjoyed the chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, bacon, chocolate chip pancakes, and waffles. José came out and made sure we were happy with our orders. We

Everything was extremely good. Just got off our cruise ship and wanted a local place to eat. Place is small but they treat you like family. Love that. Food was fresh and made real well. Wife had the chilaquiles and I had an omelette. Also had some really good French toast. Will be back if we are in the area again. Thanks Joe for taking care of us.

We stopped by Joe's Diner while in San Pedro visiting family--and what a gem! The owners and staff were incredibly respectful and welcoming. They totally understood my love for extra crispy everything, and nailed it. My son devoured his pancake and orange juice, and my husband was all about the fajita omelet special. The ambiance is small but mighty--cozy, classic diner vibes with real heart. Highly recommend!

Quality food, quality service. Quiet environment. What more can someone ask for? Local and family owned. Checked all of my boxes.

During my time in San Pedro, while running errands, we collectively decided to find a new place to eat. We were delighted to discover Joe's Diner. It's situated in a bustling, small plaza. Conveniently, we found parking directly in front. That was a bonus. Upon entering, we immediately appreciated the cozy and intimate atmosphere of Joe's Diner. This establishment has been operating under the name Joe's Diner for the past three years. The extensive menu is impressive; the variety of dishes Joe prepares in the kitchen is amazing. There are daily specials and a selection of standard breakfast items. I'm rating service at a 5 when Joe himself came out to greet us upon entering. Throughout our dining expierence Jo we came and checked on us often. There are 5 tables in this cozy diner. Make sure your one of them. We ordered cheeseburgers and fries with a side of fruit. Joe's has homemade chili beans outta this world when topped on fries.

If I could give this particular order a "5.5" Star Rating- I would be happy to. I reordered the Steak meal on 05/10/24 via Ubereats. Made a few changes from my last order pertaining to the included salad (Forgot to take a picture of salad- put in my fridge to eat after the steak and mashed potatoes- once I finished main entree- ate the salad- but forgot to take picture of salad (with no carrots/no olives/no onions and adding one egg)- so the picture of the salad you see is from my previous order). Steak meal preparation was the same- Extra Well Done Steak No Vegetables- Double Mashed Potatoes with Butter Salad- No Carrots/No Olives/No Onions- Add 1 Egg Extra Thousand Island Dressing Garlic Bread *If you think the pictured steak is both burnt and/or fatty for your tastes- this how I asked it to be prepared. As in my previous 2 orders- this being my 3rd- the meal was extremely tasty, good portion and great dining experience- Joe again didn't forget one thing on my Ubereats special instructions. This definitely is my go-to lunch/dinner meal. Now I have to try a breakfast meal

It's tasty but basic diner food. Good for lunch and breakfast Their staff is polite and friendly. Engaging in conversation. The place is tiny maybe about 6 small tables. Parking was pretty easy. You can also park on the street.

Avocado salad, lots of veggies. Made vegan. Simple, healthy and delicious!

Not because it was featured on a news segment, or something similar, but because I saw it on an episode of Monk. It was used as a background prop. Funny what writing helps you remember, and hopefully what you remember is good stuff. Before I stepped into this bar, I expected it to be a Diver bar, in the grittiest sense, but I was wrong, it is a Dive bar in the most exciting of ways: It is a collection of tchotchkes (a fancy word for trinkets) that when admired as a whole and then independently give this place a whimsical personality. Imagine having a friend that when invited to a pool party wears a bikini with a fun print--- like cherries or flamingos, and is always down for a shot and playful mayhem. Being around this type of personality amps up the party soul of a moment because their vibe is that of a buzz-nurturer. Meaning that when I was in the bar, and all it has to offer, made me want to have a good time, regardless of what I carried in from the outside. The place gives immediate Tiki Bar vibes but does not carry the moment to full fruition. For example, in my pictures I show curtains with Tiki Idols, and a light fixture adorn with its own hula skirt but the Tiki motif does not transport one to a Luau where dancers sway as they wait for a pig to finish roasting. Instead, the Tiki vibes are sharply contrasted with posters and other keepsakes that are both aspiration and life lessons. For instance, one reminds us to leave your drama outside. Another hanging placard lists advisories that (straight) men should adhere when hitting on women. One of these is the fact that some women's sexual preference is NO. Another poster explains what happens when girls drink too much. One of the 10 outcomes is that women confuse the kitchen floor for their mattress when laying down. Like I said, all of these small and bigger touches combine to give this place a personality that draws one to have a good time. For me, there were two standout items in the place- 1) a jukebox and a 2) pool table. I was with three people that played pool better than me. One of them explained the purpose of a chalk mound. One is suppose to rub the place between their thumb and index finger to get chalk right in there. Then rub the chalk on the stick. This will create less friction which will help you shoot better. I did all that. This moment also allowed me and another member of my group to have a lot of hard wood jokes-- what are you going to do, we were having a good time at this place, and these jokes felt right. The jukebox was also free. I played Ariana Grande's version of Popular from Wicked and I felt the song. I was warbling loudly, and off key, and dancing because I was feeling the tune and the drinks. At the end, some of the people in the bar clapped and hollered. I went to put in another song I was stopped, the regulars were watching football on a Sunday, go figure. That is the thing about this bar, it is a regular's bar. People knew each other, people knew I was the first timer. Like when I spoke, two or three people answered my question. When I was looking for the key a customer directed me to it. So this place is definitely a place where regulars are at. And if you know anything about dive bar culture, regulars who know each other make a community. So you will need to navigate these dynamics if you attend. For instance, one of my friends was in the bathroom, doing the business of two. A regular opened the door and my friend was like, I am here, closed the door. The regular did not close the door, instead he made a joke about leaving the door just a bit open, while being a bro about it. I was horrified just being a witness. But between bar flies these type of jokes might be understood as joyful. But it would take me an alternate life to find humor in potty politics. I was introduced to the White Tea shot and it has become my new shot so this place left a mark on my taste buds. The shot at the end had this strong green tea taste. The prices were right too! I can't wait to go here again, when the party vibe calls me forth! Oh and it is cash only, unless you spend 40 and above then it is card appropriate.

I called in the order. The staff was friendly on the phone and helpful in choosing my meal while I sat in 405/110 traffic. I ordered the chicken kebab plate: (1) chicken skewer, rice, grilled tomato/jalapeño, pita, hummus and tzatziki. I was skeptical at the price of $25, but thought this has got to be good with all these great reviews. I was told 15 minutes. I walked in the restaurant after 22 minutes and she asked for another 5 minutes, so I ordered a beer and sat at the bar. There were 2 sorry tables, 6 people dining total. It's a beautiful delicately decorated restaurant, white and gold accents. They have beer and wine only. From the looks of it, they have some nice wines and sparkling wine only by the bottle. I did not fully understand the menu, it seemed like it was confused about the genre of cuisine and lacked an identity in my opinion. It took her a couple minutes to get the beer and the food came out very shortly after. When I removed the contents of the bag at home, I was immediately disappointed. The portions are quite small. Any place I've ever ordered a kebab plate, there's been plenty of food for two meals, because I eat small portions. That was not the case for this restaurant and at such a high cost. And on top of that, the food was lukewarm, and I only drove to my destination less than five minutes away nor did I stay to finish my beer. I called to ask about the pita cause I couldn't find it in the bag. She said it was below the rice, and I asked oh that's an interesting way to serve it...Is there a reason for that and she said it soaks up the grease of the chicken, and it's much more flavorful to dip in the hummus and tzatziki. The hummus and Taziki are in a 1 ounce plastic ramekin. The tzatziki was good, but the hummus had no flavor and with oily. The pita is below the rice making it appear that there is more food than actually exists in the smallest to go container. The pita was in fact saturated with grease, and had that rancid turned grease taste. I also realized the meat is not chicken breast but chicken thigh, and although it was tender, it lacked flavor. The rice, lacked flavor, the tomato and jalapeño were not seasoned or ripe, and the hummus also flavorless and greasy. After spending $45 on a chicken kebab plate with a beer, small portions and such bland flavors, this is not a place I'll return too. They seem to be very well liked and I'm happy for them.

When we arrived, the restaurant was about half full and there was live music occurring on the patio. We opted to sit inside where it was a little less noisy and there was a comfy and cozy booth calling our name. The vibe was great, with fun and eclectic decor. The service was really upbeat and friendly and our server was so kind and helpful. We asked him if the espresso martini had dairy in it (which I just discovered that is a thing at some places) and he double checked with the bartender to ensure there wasn't my dairy in it! I ordered that alongside a falafel wrap I must say, both of these worked so well together. The espresso martini was light and refreshing yet still had a bold flavor. The falafel was nice and crispy with a delectable inside and the tahini sauce was so rich and creamy. The meal felt indulgent yet hearty all at the same time. I left feeling so uplifted and relaxed all at the same time. Despite it being on the noisier side, I was still able to hear my friend well and it was such a great place for us to catch up. We placed a $96 order through DoorDash and had confirmation that the order was paid for. My husband arrived at the scheduled pickup time, only to be told they had no order for us. Even though he had proof of the completed purchase, the way the situation was handled made it feel like they were insinuating that we must not have ordered or checked out correctly. I contacted DoorDash myself to cancel, and DoorDash actually called the restaurant. Suddenly, the restaurant confirmed they DID receive our order and said it must have been an issue with their Wi-Fi. DoorDash told us we could go back and pick it up, but my husband had already driven there once and been turned away. We weren't going to make another trip because of an issue on the restaurant's end. At that point, I felt the least they could have offered was to deliver the food themselves or make some effort to correct the situation. Instead, the order was canceled, and after waiting for dinner, our family ended up eating cereal. Mistakes and technical issues happen. What bothered us most was the customer service and how my husband was treated when he was standing there with proof that we had paid. A little kindness and willingness to problem-solve would have completely changed this experience. It's sad because we've supported this restaurant for a very long time, but after this experience, we'll be taking a break. I really hope they improve how situations like this are handled because longtime customers shouldn't leave feeling belittled over a mistake that wasn't theirs.
