Finally tried Joe's - so glad we did. Ordered XL thin crust barbecue pizza- bacon, sausage, onions, and BBQ sauce. Absolutely DELICIOUS!! We loved it. A while back we were Jakes Pizza fans until they all disappeared. Before that we would have never considered a BBQ pizza (that was against pizza rules) for many years we have searched for another favorite only to be disappointed. We finally found it - Joes was excellent. Crust was so crispy, large pieces of sausage, great ration of bacon and onions and the perfect amount a sweet unique BBQ sauce and the right amount of cheese. What a great Chicago family owned pizza place! I ordered an XL 18in extra pepperoni and it was gone within minutes after my kids saw it! I'll get extra cheese next time because we love cheese- but it was delicious!!!!! We also tried the cinnamon fried bites! Whaaaat??! Just stop it! It was SO good! This is our new favorite spot! We just got a thin crust pizza, Caesar salad and cannoli tonight and everything was so good! We ordered 48 wings and a pizza. The online menu and even the GH menu showed one price. When we ordered the food we thought we had an idea of the cost but it was a lot more because they said the prices online were wrong. I pointed out the inconsistencies and they kindly gave us the online price. So, the customer service was good. The pizza was good. But the wings defy the description they have on their menu. They were small and so tough; they were not dipped in flavor and just a few squirts of BBQ sauce. They were the worst wings I have ever had with the exception of the ones I attempted to make once. They were so small, they look like they came off Cornish Game Hens, but they tasted like Pidgeon. Avoid the wings. read more

Unfortunately I've tried Joe's twice and it doesn't live up to the other reviews. It's a little overpriced and the pizza is just mediocre in my opinion. However it's the wings that I ordered that caused me to leave this review and I would have only given 1 star if I hadn't got pizza too. I don't mean to bash places, but these were the worst wings I've ever had. They were so overcooked to the point that the meat shriveled up off the bone. First off, the owners and employees are SUPER sweet and nice here. And the portions were huge. Unfortunately, the food really fell flat for me. The salad, pizza, and wings were just below average compared to other pizzas I've had in Schaumburg, Chicago and New York. We only came here because the people we were meeting wanted to stay close by to home and Yelp/Google reviews are misleadingly phenomenal for this spot. The salad was not well tossed, and had cold cuts of meat stuck together and the commercial dressing was provided. The wings were overly battered, over-cooked, and the buffalo sauce was rather bland. The pizza dough was cracker thin and the cheese/toppings lacked flavor. Even the complimentary chocolate cake (very grateful for their generosity btw) was just bland - not enough sugar, aromatics like vanilla or coffee and salt to bring out the chocolate flavor. I didn't understand the negative reviews until I think I met the guy they were talking about. Not 100% sure though because he was not rude at all to me, just "normal." The chef on the other hand totally makes this place for me. He is always so nice, and generally, has been the only one I have dealt with in terms of "management" since I have been going there. What I like best about him is that he takes pride in the food he makes, frequently beaming about how the pizza just came out and is "beautiful." And, I would agree, every time I have been there, not disappointed. My kids love it too. The extra large is great for my family. We, generally, generally get the "Joe's Four." I really like the sausage on it, and I am not usually a fan of sausage. Ingredients are always fresh, dough and sauce done, excellent service, what more could you I don't know if maybe the difference is, I always do pickup, but again, never disappointed. I can't speak to anything other than the pizza yet, but I can say, it's definitely worth going in to meet the chef at least once, his smile and enthusiasm will brighten your day! read more
