This was the first stop on our trip up to Rhode Island, and was a refreshing difference from NYC diners! Homey, down-to-earth, and with an extensive, *cheap* menu, this was a great out-of-the-way place for us to stop at. Portions are huge and very affordable, and they even have gluten-free and veggie options! My fiancée and I were in town for a wedding and wanted some good, not-too-greasy, New York diner food the morning of. So glad we found Joey B's. We loved the ambiance and family-owned atmosphere at the cozy breakfast counter. Everything was great from the coffee to the side of Scarpelli sausage to the perfectly toasted English muffins. My fiancée ordered the huevos rancheros and I ordered the Irish benedict. The eggs were perfectly cooked and runny. We both cleaned our plates. Went in based on Yelp reviews for a bite after hiking Tods Point. Breakfast stops being served at 11:30am. Milkshake for smaller human was melted ice cream and thin. Joey B's is a fantastic find for anyone traveling through the area- the classic hotdog, fresh hot waffle fries and amazing philly cheese steak made us wish we were locals (and although they did almost pack the place, they made space for us to sit down, have small talk with the owner and generally absorb the comfortable diner atmosphere.) The owner flatly stated he'd put his cheese steaks up against Philadelphia's any day- and we have tp agree with him. It can be a little tricky to find- it's tucked away on a turn off immediately after the next door pizza joint. We didn't see it at first and had to double back. Trust me, it's there. And it's delicious. If you get the chance, you owe it to yourself, and everyone with you, and America in general, to stop by and grab some great food to eat either at the diner or on the road- or both, like we're doing right now. read more

We stopped at this little dinner for 2 breakfast sandwiches that were unusual and delicious. I think they make their own sauces that go on the sandwiches, like chili or chipotle mayo. My husband had the Scarpelli with sausage and peppers and I I had the Hacksaw with chili, hash browns and cheese. Both were delicious. Everyone was there- an elderly couple in a jaguar, three middle school girls munching on egg sandwiches and taking off on their bikes, and an older woman with her nurse.... just a friendly place- kind of a throw back to another time. Fine discovery on our way home from our Thanksgiving trip to Delaware. Waze routed us onto I-95 through Connecticut. This is not our usual route so when we decided to stop for breakfast we consulted iExit and chose Joey B's based on the favorable Yelp reviews. This little diner lived up to the reviews. It was easy off/on from the highway. The interior is tiny, with just counter seating. On entering we grabbed two seats at counter and ordered coffee (Hub) and tea. I ordered the huevos rancheros benedict--an excellent hybrid of two breakfast favorites, prepared to perfection! Hub had oatmeal and a grilled chocolate chip muffin. We were both more than pleased with our choices. While there were maybe two other diners at the counter while we were in Joey B's, the volume of take out traffic was impressive as a steady stream of customers were in and out picking up orders. That seemed indicative of the high quality of offerings. Everything about this visit was excellent. We would definitely find our way back to Joey B's if we're ever re-routed onto I-95 again. read more

Who doesn't enjoy quality wieners up in Mianus? Okay, all jokes aside, my friends and I took a quick trip out of the city to visit "Riverside" and "Cos Cob". There were absolutely no intentions of taking pictures next to the dam in Mianus. We rode the Metro-North and walked from the Riverside station to Joey B's, since we had heard that the hot dogs and chili were quite superb. Everyone knows New York City lacks these kinds of charming, down-home places where you can stuff your face with calorie bombs, so it was totally worth the 45 minute train ride from Fordham. We each ordered a cholesterol cannon. I thoroughly enjoyed my Cos Cob hot dog, with chili and onions. The chili absolutely smothered the wiener: rich, thick and meaty. Just how we wanted it in Mianus. They also have fried macaroni and cheese, which are extremely hot in temperature, but creamy and fried and greasy and so full of regret but also incredibly worth the clogged arteries. While on town for business I wanted to get out of the hotel. Joey B's was exactly what I was looking for. Just some good, hometown American food. But it was better than that. I had the Friday special - the Fish Sampler - which had amazingly fresh fried Cod, shrimp and something else with fries or onion rings (AMAZING) or sweet potato fries. So good. A local warned me about the shakes - they are 'like crack - so good they are addictive.' It's true. I had a peanut butter banana shake and it rocked! Have been here mostly for lunch but the times that I have had Breakfast here the breakfast was out of the park Good. Hot Dogs are Sabrett's no big deal right? Joey B's is my favorite breakfast joint in town. Whether I'm there dining solo or with the husband and kids - it's always a solid meal with great service and a smile. I stick the the basics - 2 eggs over with toast but the kids love the Mickey Mouse pancake and the silver dollar pancakes. Husband is a huge fan of the Weech (bacon, egg, cheese, chili and fried mac and cheese bites) They serve Scarpelli saugsage - an institution of its own here in Cos Cob and a welcome addition to any plate - breakfast lunch or dinner. I've never had dinner here but lunch options are solid with the burgers being better than I had anticipated... top it off with some of their AMAZING chili and it really hits the spot. Came in for breakfast on a business trip with my co-workers and I'm glad we did! I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs which was great. I've been here multiple times with multiple people and we have loved everything we managed to fit into our belly. It has a super casual atmosphere but there's nothing casual about the food. Went to for breakfast and felt like one of the locals. It's barstool seating only and it's very small but it was beautiful out and all the doors were open as well as picnic tables outside. My friend and I went for breakfast. Pancakes were awesome and the breakfast sausage was excellent not gross like most places. Coffee was also delish. I've ordered out here a few times. The best item in the morning is the huevos rancheros, it's poached egg (I usually get over hard), with diced onions and tomatoes with a yummy spicy sauce. And the hash browns, yum! I think you can get it as a sandwich too. The French toast is just okay but make sure you get the caramel and vanilla if not it is VERY plain and basic.
