Neighborhood go-to 100%!!! Here's the deal...at first sight I wasn't to sure about going in. I do not care for the gaming/dine places at all. I'd been to Al's Garage next door with my older soon and did not care for it at all (and this was a sister property) so...that being said...I stumbled upon a great Groupon Deal for this place and thought I'd give it a try. Low and behold ... I'm glad I did...with the Groupon it made it an easy choice. My 14yo boy and I went and ordered the burger and a clean Salad for myself. They had no issues helping me modify the Salad to keep it as healthy as possible for me. That is always a WIN for me! Everything tasted great and the servers are so kind and happy! Nothing better after a long day then walking in to a place where people are smiling!!! Great Job Guys!!! We will be regulars now. So glad I saw the Groupon and decided to give it a try. This was all the hype. Was so excited to go do to reviews. Our service was quite bad, lobster came out cold. I ordered a $41 steak. I asked for medium and got rare . Sent it back asking for a medium steak and got a medium rare. I didn't eat any if my food. Everybody has nothing but good to say but I know ill never go back. Wow it took 15 mins for someone to ask me if I wanted anything to drink. Then the waitress only came by twice had to flag down someone to take my order next . I order the hamburger because it was half off on Tuesday nights. Well I did let the waitress now that I did not want any onions or mustard on the hamburger. The first hamburger came with onions had to send it back second hamburger came with mustard the third hamburger came with the onions and mustard neither what I ordered. The forth time I just said forget ... The waitress Maria L was acting like it was an inconvenience for her. An hour in a half here waiting on hamburger that was never right. read more

Wanted to start off by saying that the other reviewers are ridiculous. Someone said they can get a better burger elsewhere for $6 bucks. Six bucks? Where -- I'd like to know! This place has humongous portions and they don't skimp on the flavor. I'll go back because I'm in the neighborhood but even if I wasn't I'd make the drive. I was going to give this a 3 star but changed my mind after my stomach turned. Disappointed. They must have changed the recipes. Food was bland and unimpressive. I had the philly fries and there was hardly any sauce. The server brought me extra and it was just a gloopy white sauce that tasted more like flour than sauce. Fries were soggy underneath. Hubby had the Philly cheesesteak with the side salad. The salad was good. Lightly dressed (I actually like mine that way) with fresh lettuce. The sandwich was pretty much just a roll with some meat, no onion or mushroom, no sauce. He was unimpressed. Then the reason for my 1 star rating. I haven't been able to venture far from the bathroom. My husband has a iron stomach. I envy him. I don't normally get sick from food and had never (until now) had a bad meal at JC's. Mediocre at best. Service is fine. I made the mistake of getting the tacos. Literally powered through eating two of them because I didn't want to waste food. Retried beans looked like a piece of dry fried chicken. Spanish rice recipe sucked. The chicken in the tacos were dryer then the dust in this damn city. Gf got the chicken club. Enjoyed that fer sure. Chicken was moist, bacon avocado. Always a solid sandwich. If you go, don't get the tacos. Enjoy. read more

Wow. So disappointing. Food is bland. Food orders came out wrong. No sides were brought out like we ordered. Drink orders were filled just a bit over half way (is there a soda shortage!?) It's not the John Cutter it used to be. The food was awful. You're better off going to the market, cook your own steak and donate the rest of the money you would of spent to charity. Mac n Cheese tasted like flavorless white paste over macaroni, salad dressing was straight vinegar over 5 day old wilted mushy field greens. Get bottled water. They have no filtration system so it's straight up Lake Mead in your glass. Patio was dirty complete with cigarette butts for decoration. However, the waitress was ok. The Ribeye was more like a London Broil. I'm not sure how it could even be called a Ribeye.. wheres the fat? It was like a tough hockey puck. Wont ever be going back. read more

We had a great dinner here! Steak and lobster special, I was skeptical, but I ordered it and it was cooked to perfection! Nice side of asparagus and a great Brussels side, and fat hot fries. I have a friend who had been talking of the 1/2 off steaks on Sunday for awhile now. I had a rateSunday off so we decided to give it a shot. 3 of us arrived about 6pm and the place was packed. We had a short wait and were seated at a high top table near the door. No booths available unless we wanted to wait longer, so we took the table. Only issue was that it was cold so it wasn't too pleasant sitting that close to the door. Our server came by almost right away for our drink orders, which came out quickly. We ordered the queso dip to share and we each ordered a 10oz filet and salads. The queso dip was good. And they refilled the chips as many times as we requested until the dip was gone. That was nice, some places want to charge extra for that. Two of us got the house salad while one got the Caesar. I got the house salad with ranch on the side, and it was delicious. I tried the caesar too which was also good. The croutons on that were homemade and fresh. Salads were a good size too. Our filets came out shortly after we finished out salads. They were seasoned well and great cuts of meat for the price. Gotta admit that they weren't quite done as we ordered though, with all being slightly over or under, not enough to make a big deal over it, plus, the taste and quality of the meat made up for that. We decided to share the chocolate cake for desert. Wow, it was huge! Very rich though. It reminded me of the Pepperidge farms chocolate fudge cake you can get at the grocery store, but a fresher version. Overall the meal was great. I'd definitely come back for the steak special. We've been to fancier places that served filet that wasn't as good as this, at twice the price. And even though they were crowded, the service was great. We didn't have to ask for refills and plates were taken away promptly. We left full and happy, can't ask for more than that! read more

We were excited to try John cutters we live 5 minutes away and always hear great reviews about it but never tried it until recently. Upon arriving we ordered drinks and some food and noticed that happy hour (half off apps) started in 30 mins so we told our waitress we will wait to order more food for happy hour. A couple minutes before midnight she came back and asked what we wanted when happy hour kicks in and we told her our order. Nothing was miscommunicated and we made it very clear. Once the bill came we noticed the appetizers were normal priced once we alerted her to this she said "I'm going to have to eat it" which confused us once she came back again she said "IM GOING TO HAVE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE." She then told us one last time when it was time to pay. So that's 3 separate times, at this point we're upset because it was obvious she wanted us to pay for her mistake we tried to make up for it with a generous tip but mid sentence of us saying our great everything was she slammed the receipt on the table and stormed away. I'm not sure if this is some kind of scam to gain sympathy and make me tip the difference on top of a normal tip, I assume it should be a very easy fix. We decided not to go to John cutters again the food was decent but our experience left a bad taste in our mouth. read more

Fist time visiting this steakhouse, worst Sperience ever . I order the rib eye steak and my friend the new York steak both medium. My steak was medium rare and my friends almost well done. We never saw are waitresses she did not come back to the table to ask about the food or to see if we need it drink. We order 2 side dishes FF and bake potato that we did not got into we were almost about to finish with the steaks. "Not good" FF were saggy and the bake potato dry like if they left it under the heat lamp. I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Mushy steak! For $35, a bone in rib eye should be juicy, cooked the way you ordered, and taste reasonably good. This place's food has gone down hill. My rib eye came out mushy texture with almost an ashy after taste. It lacked basic seasoning like salt and pepper, but is instead drenched in chilli oil. While it's a thick cut of meat, it was disgusting and inedible. It's likely from them not thawing out the steak all the way before cooking. Husband ordered the salmon dish, same feedback. Mushy, lack seasoning, and drenched in chili oil. The best thing is still the French fries and grilled asparagus, but we're not going to be coming back to pay $27-35 to not eat our entrees. read more

I see that this place has a 3 star rating here and let me just say, WHY?!! I found John cutter randomly because I was at the dental practice next door waiting for my wife. I was hungry her brother was hungry, so we ended up here. Once we got inside we were told that on tuesdays they have happy hour we decided on one burger and a Philly cheesesteak. Now I don't know about you but, personally for 5 bucks I wasn't expecting an amazing burger, I was expecting something decent. However, apparently John cutter never heard of decent because what they brought out was a BEHEMOTH. The burger and cheesesteak were both monstrous in size with fries on the side because whats a burger without fries? The sucker was just so big I had to cut it to even take a bite. Instantly the juices dribbled down my chin like I was some sort of baby that needed a bib and can't eat for myself. The burger was perfectly cooked and seasoned so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. Bite after bite I kept telling myself to slow down , that this was the last bite but I couldn't bring myself to stop. And the cheesesteak? Just as amazing, full of so much cheese I'm suprised I didn't become lactose intolerant from staring at it. If you like BIG MEATY BURGERS come here. I want to start off by saying John Cutters has DELICIOUS meals typically. But tonight was a Different visit. We ordered Mac n cheese and brussel sprouts for appetizers. Mac and cheese was good, but the brussel sprouts were over cooked, over seasoned and not very good. For dinner we ordered 4 Steak and Lobster entrees, 1 house salad topped with salmon, one burger with fries, and one carne asada dinner plate. We all ordered dinner at the same time while ordering appetizers first, but ALL of the food came out at different times with the appetizers coming out last. On top of that the food was as described below. - The steaks were either OVER seasoned or barley seasoned at all. The lobsters were cold and rubbery. - The salad that came out first didn't have a salmon on it, we requested that the salmon we ordered be brought out in a plate. The food runner simply came back to the table with the right salad said sorry I grabbed the wrong one, and took the old salad back to the kitchen. - The first hamburger that was cooked for me was burned, so of course they had to cook another burger which added more time to our lengthy wait. But to top it off the fries were partially frozen in the center. - The carne asada plate would've been a delicious decision. But when the plate finally got brought the to the table the refried beans were as hard as a rock, and not edible. The limes when i went to apply them to my tacos were so dry that no juice even came out. Disappointed would be a huge understatement seeings we've had wonderful experiences here. But after paying we asked to speak to a manager, who in return comped the meals with issues, as well as giving us 2 desert cakes. I hope my next experience will be better than this one, but I can assure you this hasn't ruined their name in my eyes. Usually great food and great service. We will be back!
