The Issue: I hired [Appliance Guy/Company Name] to replace the ice maker in my Sub-Zero refrigerator (Model 650, Serial M1574399). He installed the replacement on [Date of Installation]. Immediately afterward, the unit was barely producing ice--only a small fraction of what it should. The Response: When I contacted him about the faulty work, he dismissed my concerns, claiming the part he installed was "dealer recommended" and insisted the issue was not his fault. After pleading for him to return and fix the faulty installation, he became completely unresponsive. The Discovery (DANGEROUS): After determining the installed unit was incorrect, I purchased the proper ice maker myself (Part #7002734) and performed the replacement. Upon removing the part he installed, I made a disturbing discovery: He installed an incorrect ice maker model that did not fit the unit. To force the incorrect model to work, he cut and spliced the necessary wiring, using electrical tape to cover the exposed wires. This "hack job" is not only unprofessional but creates a serious fire hazard within my appliance. He claimed to have over 20 years of experience, but this dangerous and shoddy work shows a total lack of competence. Conclusion: This individual is unprofessional, unresponsive, and his work is hazardous. Stay away at all costs. You are better off doing the work yourself than trusting him with your home and safety.

So we called B &B who have been providing us with excellent service for nearly 15 years (and we're up in the hills). The best part of working with Bob is his ability to communicate clearly. When something goes sideways we troubleshoot it over the phone. On our end, all we have to do is give Bob the correct model and serial number for the machine in question and he'll tell us straight up front if the machine is too old to be repaired, or if there's a problem getting parts due to supply chain issues etc. Once the parts come in, Bob and Bob arrive promptly at the scheduled time, and with seemingly minimalist precision install the part(s), check equipment performance and were good to go. We were scammed by B&B Appliance. We called them to view our fridge which had been collecting…read morecondensation over the course of several months. When they arrived, they quickly opened the fridge doors, saw the condensation, and without any further evaluation or listening to my description of how long the condensation had been an issue, told me that I hadn't been closing the fridge doors fully, and it was my fault. I have had this fridge for 12 years and have not had this problem, yet they insisted that I was wrong and just wasn't closing the doors properly. After they left, I wiped down all the condensation and left the fridge securely closed for 15 hours and guess what-- when I opened it the next morning, all the condensation was back. To add to the situation, both repairmen kept insisting I was too anxious, and one even gave me an unsolicited hug. To say I was shocked is an understatement. They were pushy for their $140 service fee, and my husband and I paid them cash but immediately regretted it. Since then we had a real repairman come by who diagnosed the problem after quite a bit of investigation. I have called them several times and left messages, but my calls have never been returned. I have requested my money back, also no response. I would avoid them completely.
