We were recommended to come here by our waitress Lisa, who works at Deck 84. She said it was a funky fun bar that she likes to check out and she didn't steer us wrong. On Monday night they have a live Elvis tribute band /impersonator and on Tuesday they had a Rod Stewart tribute band/ impersonator. What's not to like about Johnnie Brown's? Its location is perfect, on a corner on Atlantic Ave with wide open windows, good seating, a bar and a secondary bar with stool. Sports are played on screens and the live music is fun. Staff is friendly, the food is pub appropriate and the drinks flow easy. I go almost weekly. read more

We came once they opened, so they weren't busy either to have made out food poorly... The fries were decent, the sliders were very poor. Disappointed, could barely finish one. I have mixed ideas on this place. The live music, food, drinks and service were all top notch. But the amount of people they had on the patio... it was like COVID never happened. I've talked to a few people around and they say that's the normal at Jonnie Browns... they just do whatever they want. We stopped in at 7pm on the Saturday after Christmas and I guess I knew there would be a crowd... Live music on a Saturday night on the ave is surely going to draw a crowd. But this place was a straight party. If you are still actively social distancing, you might be uncomfortable here.... Aside from that, we had a great time. And luckily they do have tables that are not where all the action is so we felt safe. We ordered a few rounds of drinks... All of them came out quick and my dad says its "one of the best dark and stormies he's ever had, made perfectly and delivered unmixed"... He also said his Juicy Lucy burger was DELICIOUS! It looked pretty damn good if I do say so myself. I could tell my brother was excited by his chicken sandwich because of the face he made when I stopped him from his first bite... he was pretty quiet until he was finished so I'm taking that as a sign he was happy. Mom got the lettuce wraps, they are not the "traditional" lettuce wraps... more like a wedge salad. Not sure who we felt about that since we were expecting something we could hold like a taco and these needed a fork and knife. I got myself some mahi tacos, nothing was wrong. Awful night - they know. Aggressive bouncer bashes my ladies toe taking stools away in a section that was not busy. We had been happy and chillin there for an hour. Manager could not have cared less. It's ok we have dozens of friends we bring there during the year, but we can find plenty of other spots for local music. It's always a good time with good food at Johnnie Brown's! The staff is super friendly and attentive and following all COVID protocols. It's great because it's all open air seating, and all tables are 6-feet apart. My favorite time to come here is when there is live music! We didn't eat anything on this visit, but the drinks were flowing. They make a mean mojito, that is so sweet and refreshing. The do have a really good menu from what I saw, with plenty of options for everyone. This place can get pretty busy at night, so don't be surprised if you have to wait for a table. When there is live music going on, there are a ton of people who stop on the sidewalk to listen, so if you're trying to stay and eat, make sure you notify the host stand. Still an awesome spot for live music and people watching on the Ave. Spider Cherry was planning on a Sunday night, and we can specifically to see the band. The tables are spaced apart with no standing and/or bar seating, so you can expect to wait in a line on a weekend night. We had already eaten dinner, but you have to order food while having drinks at a table. We ordered some fries and they were pretty delicious! We stopped in early eve after walking around the art fest on Sat 12/2/23. We grabbed a table in the bar overlooking the sidewalk (I like to people watch). We shared an order of the spicy Korean boneless wings (yum) and a half rack of some of the best baby back ribs I have had in a long time. Post quarantine, I was looking for a fun place to have some food, drinks, and see some live music. Enter Johnnie Brown's in Delray Beach!! There was a decent line to get in as obviously tables are more limited these days with restaurants unable to fill to max capacity. Not to mention, one of their regular bands, The Flyers was playing that night. However, we got in and got a good table right near the stage. All of the staff was masked and super friendly, from the hostess, to the managers, to our waitress, etc. We were served quickly and even though the our waitress was swamped, she checked on us regularly. They have a lot of great drink options and the prices are far more affordable than what I'm used to in Miami. For food, we went with the smoked wahoo dip and the corn and conch fritters for an appetizer. Although I found the fish dip to be a little over salted, I really loved how they served it with bagel chips. The conch fritters were great. I got the swordfish sliders for my entrée which I definitely enjoyed. My sister got a Greek salad topped with mahi and she said it was really fresh and enjoyed it as well. Lastly, they surprised us with a Keylime pie that was topped with a big sparkler to celebrate our missed milestones during quarantine. The Keylime pie was delicious! The Flyers band was excellent, and all the guests were really enjoying the music. There were people up dancing, and there were many people outside of the restaurant hanging around listening to the music as well. These guys are obviously pretty popular here. Went tonight to meet some friends. The servers were friendly and very attentive. I ordered the tuna poke bowl and boy was it a true taste sensation--beyond delicious. I would definitely go back just to have it again. The atmosphere was fun, great band, very crowded despite the Covid. Downtown was swarming with people inside and out. They are like French fries, that are seasoned to perfection with their custom blend of spices. Now if you're trying to eat healthy and are in the mood for a salad, @johnniebrownsdelray isn't the first place you think of. Yet. If you want to feel full and satisfied without the guilt the classic chicken Cobb is all you need. The best part is it travels very well. On our long ride north we stopped at a friends for the night and went out in the evening for a little carousing (verb... drink plentiful amounts of alcohol and enjoy oneself with others in a noisy, lively way). This is a an open air bar, next to the tracks on Atlantic Ave. We went on a Tuesday, which happened to be Rod Stewart night. The performer was spot on and and hilarious. The bar was packed on a Tuesday night, so you know it's not a bad spot to be. I came out with my cousin and my uncle. My uncle, also my godfather, loves Rod Stewart night. So he was pretty amped about it. We sat towards the back. The food was pretty standard for bar food. I got the steakhouse burger and fries. Solid choice, nothing amazing, but a good burger for a night at the bar. The darkest beer on tap was Yuengling. Seems like very few places in Delray having anything dark on tap. It was a sad realization for me. I love stouts Porter's and the such. One cool point for this place are the train shots. if a train goes by, literally 20ft away, shots are half off. The waitress suggested green tea shots. These were Jameson mixed with stuff. Pretty tasty. Service was a little rough. Our waitstaff took a while to check on us and forgot we had ordered another round a few times. But overall, a good experience. The show was great, food was good, and the light beer was good. Tonight we were walking by as the band was about to start and read the special menu so we came in There is a card on the table that describes the pierogi they serve. We gave them a try and we extremely surprised how good they were. The pierogi are cooked to perfection served on a bed of sauerkraut seasoned perfectly along with sour cream topped with bacon. Then we order the steakhouse burger and grouper sandwich. Hamburger disappointing and sent back. Server took back without a fuss. The Grouper sandwich was devoured in no time as it was stacked with everything that could possibly enhance this sandwich. They had short ribs as special and we wish we had given them a try. This spot is a classic in Delray Beach. Although I've been several times for drinks and live music, last night was my first time having dinner and I'm happy we did. Clique Hospitality took over recently so they've upped Johnnie Brown's game with a new menu that focuses on fresh locally sourced ingredients. We tried a little bit of everything - coconut shrimp with mango and spicy Korean wings to start (note: $1 wings on Wednesdays), a super delish and healthy apple quinoa salad, the Juicy Lucy burger (my personal favorite of the meal) and a fresh swordfish sammy. Fries were thin and crispy exactly how I like them. Our server Cyle was attentive and always kept our cups full. He even let us know about half priced shots when the train goes by.
