Really dig the pop culture and Bay Area theme aesthetics! We ordered their fatboi and trompo. I had higher hopes for the trompo. The al pastor itself seemed a little bland on its own. There were good flavors once I got to the pineapple though. I felt bamboozled a bit by the coffee shake. The kiosks didn't have any picture so I didn't know it'd come with caramel syrup. Some may like that, but it's already sweet enough on its own. Love the music choice. Hate the horsefly situation. All the doors and doors windows are open but no controls in place for the pests.

The Johnny Boi burger and the Fasho Spicy chic sandwich. Side of fries and tater tots.

This is in my backyard, sort of LOL! I will be a regular. I was craving a burger and thought to try this place out. Hubby hot the burger and I ... get the Fasho Spicy! A fried chicken sandwich. It was so yummy! Nice hotness. I decided not to add more hot sauce to it because it didn't need it! Theater tots were crispy and fun to eat. I like the place. Food was order at the counter and pick up. It was clean and the general feel was positive.

One of the best smash burgers I've had with a beautiful char. Fries are on the thick cut side and came out hot and fresh. The tater tots are super crispy. Both the fried and taters come very lightly salted, and there are salt packets you can grab to add to taste. The Mac and cheese has a nice smoky flavor from the bacon, and I appreciate that it comes in a to-go container. Casual spot with order and pick up at the counter. Nothing in particular to note about service, they were nice. Plenty of comfortable seating inside. I would come back here for the quality of the food alone, but what really makes this place stand out is the affordability, especially for the sides. I'm excited to visit again and bring some friends along.

A good quality burger joint with beautiful graffiti art on the walls that offers plenty of seating. You order at a kiosk or with someone over the counter if available. Wait time to receive meal is average. Not too long of a wait depending how busy they are. Parking is a little difficult to find depending what time you go because it's only street parking. The food. Cowboi Burger came loaded with two patties, melty American cheese, thick crispy bacon and 3 big golden onion rings. I could had done without the BBQ sauce because it was on the sweeter side compared to other BBQ sauces. Fatboi Burger was also a solid burger. Juicy and the special sauce and bacon jam added a powerful punch to the overall burger. Fasho Spicy was the fried chicken sandwich that was just okay. Pretty dry even though it came with the smash sauce. Kiddos tenders were also very crispy but dry. Mac n' Cheese & Bacon Bits lacked seasoning. Nothing special. The only thing that helped it were the bacon bits. Fries were thick, golden, and crispy. We had regular orders and an order in the highway style. The highway style was the way to go for a loaded bite of fries each time! So good. It was like a burger without the bun and veggies. They also offer different shakes and ice cream cones (chocolate or vanilla) to finish your meal. Overall, stick to the burger options and get the tots or fries the highway style!

I was looking forward to trying Johnny Boi. I heard good reviews. When I arrived their were workers behind the counter but they did not interact with the customers. I wanted an item that was listened on their menu but couldn't find it on the order pad. No one offered to help or answer any questions. It was all hands on deck for the kitchen. You had to wait for your drinks after your food was served. Flag people down for assistance. Cowboy burger was good. I didn't care for the bbq sauce. But the burger was good. Trompo fries were the best thing I had until I got to the middle. The meat was super dry. I was literally crunching on pieces. I would have said something but the staff had no interaction with us. Hopefully it gets better.

FAT BOI - $12 - Double patty, American cheese, Shredduce, Tomatoes, Pickles, Bacon Jam, Caramelized onions, SMASH SAUCE

WHEN: Sat @7:30pm It's a pretty quiet area around this time so there was parking just a block over. You can order either from the kiosk or a person at the counter. Although food is made to order, it comes out pretty quick. There's a decent amount of seating, both high top and booth, and the walls are filled with spray can art of iconic characters--both fiction and non-fiction. Here's what I had: FAT BOI - $12 Double patty, American cheese, Shredduce, Tomatoes, Pickles, Bacon Jam, Caramelized onions, SMASH SAUCE. Boy did I enjoy this burger! I love that I taste the cheese, and the sweetness of both the bacon jam and caramelized onions. The patties were flavorful and I liked how the pickles are not too sour. ONION RINGS - $5 A pretty good amount and it sure was yummy! I believe I've found a new favorite burger spot, and I can't wait to come back!

Solid burger spot. Came in on a Saturday night around 7:30pm and we were the only ones there for a bit. I thought it was just quiet because it was a little rainy, but come 8:00pm it was BUSY! I appreciated the fun Bay Area ambience and don't be fooled by the "ghetto" graffiti, they keep this place clean. Burgers were good. I wish they offered cheddar instead of American cheese and I wish it was more melted on my burger, but everything else was great. Would definitely come back.

Johnny Boi Burger, Fasho Spicy Burger and French Fries

My friends and I stopped by Johnny Boi around 8:00 p.m. for a late dinner after playing some tennis nearby. The restaurant was pretty empty, which is not too unexpected, considering they close at 9:00 p.m. I ordered their Fasho Spicy -- a spicy fried chicken sandwich, while my wife ordered one of their smashburgers -- the Johnny Boi. Between the two of us, we also ordered one of their french fries. The fried chicken is thickly battered and almost a bit too crunchy. The spiciness of the chicken comes from peppers in the dry rub. It's not the spiciest fried chicken sandwich out there, but it still packs a punch. The sandwich is super messy to eat because the sandwich is overdressed with their "smash sauce" so the buns deteriorate quickly. The patty for the smashburger is not the thinest out there (that award goes to Hyphy Burger in Oakland), but it's still nicely fried and well-seasoned. When we ordered the "Johnny Boi" at the counter, we were asked if we wanted tomatoes and lettuce with the burger, and we politely declined after the woman behind the counter confirmed that that would be an extra charge. This felt like nickel and diming to be honest, given how extraordinary cheap lettuce is (and the fact that they charge a 3% surcharge for using credit card). Speaking of extra charges... I would say tipping is absolutely not justified or necessary. Be confident hitting that "No Tip" button and don't settle even for 15%. Everything is self-service here: you pick up your food at the counter, you bus your own table, you grab your own ketchup and napkins, etc. You are receiving zero service. Going back to the food, the fries are similar to thick cut steak fries, where the outside is crispy but the inside is fluffy. Not my favorite, since there's too much potato in each bite and the fries come across as a bit starchy. Overall, not a bad spot for a burger if you're in Point Richmond, but I've had better fried chicken sandwiches and smashburgers elsewhere in East Bay.

Johnny Boi is one of my favorite local places to get burgers! Their beef tastes fresh and is full of flavor! I've recommended this place to so many people and they're never disappointed! I recently brought my cousin, who was visiting this weekend, and she said it was so good she wanted to come back the next day for more lol. The artwork inside is also amazing! I think it's pretty cool that they have famous people sign the "freeway sign". Saw that Nick Cannon had stopped by while he was doing his Wild n Out tour and signed the wall as well! They're a great addition to the Richmond community and I'm happy I don't have to go far to get some good burgers lol.

Came here after seeing a video on this spot so I had to see what it was talking about! When you walk in the atmosphere is hitting! The paintings on the wall are fly, the music blasting, and the TV's are on with the remotes readily available if you want to change the channel! Now to the food: I had the western burger, fries, tried some wings, and had a fruity pebble shake! The burger was pretty good. The patties needed some salt, but with the onion rings, bacon, and bbq sauce it tasted pretty good. The patties were smashed so it didn't make the burger seem like too much. The fries were basic, frozen nothing special. I had the habanero and garlic Parmesan wings. The habaneros needed more sauce but the flavor was there. Not overly hot but the spice level was good. The GP were really good! I recommend!! I enjoyed the shake! I also recommend!

Black Star BBQ used to be the reason I would visit Point Richmond, but alas, it is no longer. But now? I have another reason to take a trip to the little oasis. Johnny Boi is solid. A nice spot to grab a quiet lunch on a weekday. The smash burger style was solid, crispy edges, but still nice and juicy. Fries are steaky, and I like 'em like that. The young lady at the counter was cordial and efficient, I gave the dude who made my burger the thumbs up, and he responded with a prideful smile. I love a good burger, and Johnny Boi's chiseled their way into my future rotation. Thank you JB folks! I hope to enjoy your fare into the future. *plus they have hecka TVs with sporting events, and it would be a good spot to come with friends.

Came in on a Thursday night. Only a few people inside but it filled up after a while. Nice Christmas tree. We were served quickly. I had a Johnny Boi and fries my husband had a Fat Boi and fries both were delicious. My husband got a coffee milkshake it was delicious too. My only complaint is that you can't get a refill on your foundation drink but it is not a deal breaker. We will be back for more burgers

Great food....fire wall art! This spot nails the basics in the best way. The burger came on a soft, glossy brioche bun with a juicy, well-seared patty, melted cheese, crisp lettuce, and a generous hit of sauce that tied everything together without overpowering it. Messy in that "worth it" kind of way. The fries were golden and thick-cut -- crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and salted just right. Perfect for dipping or stealing straight from the tray while the burger cools. Nothing fancy or overcomplicated here -- just a solid, satisfying burger-and-fries combo that hits every comfort-food craving. Exactly what you want when you're hungry and don't want to gamble.

The one con to the space however is that there's a bunch of mosquitos inside. In the span of ten minutes, my friend and I were both bitten four times. If you're sensitive to mosquito bites, you'll definitely want to wear long pants and/or a jacket to keep the mosquitos at Bay. The beers here are fine. There wasn't a single beer that was amazing enough where I'd go out of my way to get it again. Although there's a wide variety of beers, most of them are on the lighter side. In term of food options, there was a single food truck parked outside on the day that we stopped by. That said, they do allow outside food. Overall, East Brother Beer Company was fine, but not a standout brewery experience for me.
