Thin burger patty had to take bread off couldn't taste the meat

Where's the meat? If you are spending $13.50 on a burger should be able to taste it . The patty was so thin I had to take the other piece of bread off . Definitely not paying $17 + for a double . Shoulda went to Johnny boys smh If fries n drink were included woulda been a fair price but they want another 5.50 for a thin burger patty I'd rather eat at a fast food joint than this place . I don't see them being open for business very long maybe by end of year

Let me tell you something! I love this place. I stop there waaaay too often. I wish they would open other locations. I've gotten everything on the menu. Nothing was bad. I prefer getting my loaded fries from here vs. In-N-Out. The onion rings are nice and hot, lightly salted with that side of ranch. The burger is always on point! I would bring a drink because the sodas are a bit pricey. There are tables for dining in. The music is nice, and so are the staff. The inside is nicely painted. Bringing an old school vibe. I like it. The owner also has a BBQ spot in Hercules, I must try.

Smash burger, smash burger, make me a smash. Finally getting a chance to leave a review for the new Tommy's Burger Co in Richmond off San Pablo Ave. Grateful as always for spots emerging in this area servicing the good good. Tommy's Burger Co focuses on only a few items, and executing a few items really well. Located near Factory Bar (essentially across the street), we grabbed a few burgs to-go with street parking adjacent to the restaurant. We ordered the Tallo Frys, the Single Burger with Cheese, and the Double Burger with Cheese. There's limited tables indoors, and the burgers do hold up nicely for to-go service. Friendly service, cool vibes. Great meat quality and taste, a bit on the salty side seasoning-wise, but super solid nonetheless. Love the packaging (think elevated fast food), juicy ingredients, and fair pricing. Oh and that sesame seed bun with 'Boss sauce'...nice touch. Would love to come back over the next holiday break to try the fried chicken sando and onion rings. Yum!

I love this place. It's a cute little burger joint that prides itself on putting out quality burgers to order. The fries are my favorite b/c they are fried in beef fat. What could be better? The staff is very friendly and since I stop by at least once a week they know my face and treat me so well. I am always greeted with a smile. Give Tommy's a try, you won't be disappointed.

I stopped in earlier to get the skinny. Then I came back later with my family. These guys have a solid background with the barbecue place in Hercules, so I got high hopes for their burgers here, too. Burgers are gooooood! They're put together with boss sauce, which is slightly spicy, but not too much, even for my tender tongue. Even Sara who has high standards in burgers smiled as she gave approval to the owners--and that was for lettuce-wrapped burger due to her gluten allergy. Fries are good too! They're cooked with beef tallow rather than vegetable oil. I expected greasy grossness, but didn't notice anything like that--just good ol' fashioned french fried potatoes, skins and all. But if beef tallow ain't your bag, you can get sweet potato fries or onion rings, which are both cooked with regular ol' vegetable oil. Friendly and knowledgeable service--they answered all my questions. Clean facilities. Bathroom is clean, with a diaper changing table. Free parking on the street. Easy access to and from the freeway, ice cream dessert across the street, can't ask for a heck of a lot more than that... And there's other nice amenities nearby in this up-and-coming 2 blocks of Richmond's North & East neighborhood. e.g., tacos, ice cream, cocktails, thai food, coffee shop, sandwich shop, etc....! If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful!

Just tried the new burger place on San Pablo Ave really enjoyed it! The service was friendly and fast, and the menu is simple with easy, tasty food. There's street parking available, plus indoor seating if you want to dine in comfortably on a non busy day. Highly recommend giving it a try!

The guy working the register was super nice, and the food prep dudes were both really nice too, they even checked to make sure we were devouring our meal ana were satisfied... our food was fire!! We were passing through on our way home to Sacramento from Frisco and the kid had and emergency bathroom stop so we stopped at Wendy's for him. Then we Yelped and found Tommy's to eat!! So glad we did!

The burger just didn't have any flavor. I've been there twice. The fries were good though. I was really hoping to be impressed cause the reviews are great. The first time I went I said let me give it another try. Waited a month. Same. I won't be back. There's better smash burgers and burger joints in Richmond. It is what's it is. Maybe my palate is different lol. Cause I don't even like the bbq spot. It's not my type of bbq. Good luck to the owners tho. Looks like other people enjoy it. I wish I did.

    Fried chic sandwich and cheeseburger

Saw this new burger place opened across from the Factory Bar, had to try. Good burger from hubby. I went with the fried chic sandwich which tasted great. The slaw wad vinegar based and delish. If I had to nitpick, I would say that the chicken (which was juicy and tender) had too much batter for my liking. Overall I plan to come back for more!

The burger tasted amazing. The fries were also amazing. The people working were welcoming and friendly. My burger came out pretty quickly, though i could see things getting a little slow if it got busy. That said, it's not perfect and I almost gave 4 stars but couldn't bring myself to tarnish the perfect rating, so 5 it is! My biggest gripe is the price. After tossing in a few dollars in the tip jar, my total was over $30 for a double bacon cheeseburger combo. This wasn't a $30 burger. The whole point of smash burgers is that you can use slightly cheaper quality meat and you won't be able to tell the difference compared to better meat as much as you would with a more traditional non-smashed burger. At least that's my experience. And when you pay $30 for a burger, you enter 'great burger' territory where the star of the show is the meat and the way it's seasoned and prepared. And this just isn't in that league. The burger started falling apart and at the end I had a big chunk of patty still remaining which I ate carefully to really get the taste of the burger without anything else and yes it was great! But not on that next level. I didn't finish the remainder of the meat patty and I think that says a lot. It was super delicious with the cheese and bacon and the special sauce they use, but once I got to just meat, it was fine but nothing super special. If you don't mind the price, this is a great place to go get an incredible burger. You're supporting local people just starting out which is a great thing! Enjoy!

First time here with my son I first saw it on ig so I had to try it. The service was great and the cashier had a cool Kristy crab hat. The ambiance is also great everything about this spot is dope.

Really good burgers. I ordered from doordash and was able to get 2 double patty smash burgers and loaded fries for around $26 dollars with a BOGO burger coupon. Pick up was easy and food was ready when I arrived. Staff was also friendly. The burger and fries were very delicious. Price of the items for me were a bit steep, however, I would definitely come back.

    Gotta love the Grilled onions!

We've lived in Hercules for over 30 years and are creatures of habit, so it was nice to venture the 10-minute drive to San Pablo. We were not impressed by the exterior strip mall building, but the interior of Mely's is very cute, homey, and clean. (I even peeked into the kitchen since the door was open.) I wanted pancakes, but got waffles instead since W ordered the blueberry buttermilk stack. We both had a side of eggs, his scrambled and mine sunny side up. The eggs were delish; mine in particular was perfectly cooked with slightly crunchy edges, a beautiful, silky, runny yolk, and no uncooked whites. The blueberry pancakes are so good! Of course they are huge and I ate some of them in addition to my waffle. We could have split just the pancakes and been perfectly happy. They cook berries inside the homemade batter and top them with a house-made blueberry compote. Maple syrup and soft butter on the side. The waffles are crispy outside with a light, airy, center, dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. I had strawberries on the side (+$5 !!). Since I ate some of W's pancakes, we took half the waffles home. W had a drip coffee--no decalf available so I had the fresh-squeezed OJ. It was a large glass so I took half of that home, too. The coffee was nothing to rave about, but it was coffee. Service was friendly and efficient--there is only one cook and one server, and it seems several of us arrived at the same time on this Sunday morning. Overall a wonderful find that we will return to so we can explore more dishes. We saw omelets and Benedict's come out that looked amazing! Plus, I want to try the dinner menu, which also looked pretty amazing.

The first thing I thought while paying the bill was these better be some good burgers for that amount of money. The food was ready within a few minutes. I saw them frying the burgers fresh, which was great! I noticed there were tater tots sitting under the heat lamp when we placed our order....i hoped we wouldn't get those because they looked as if they had been sitting for a while. As luck would have it, we did indeed get those tater tots and as luck would also have it, they were indeed cold. Bummer - cause if you know me, you know I like my food fresh and hot! The burgers were just ok. They didn't have any seasoning and the smash sauce was a bit spicy. Even though I watched them put the meat on the grill which I thought was our burgers, the burgers came out just warm. The cheese was barely melted and the bun, although very soft was also cold. They gave us a small cup of ranch dressing and it was delicious!!! The last thing I got was a Soft serve ice cream cone. It reminded me of the ice cream cones that you get on a cruise ship. SOOOOOO GOOD!!! Overall, The kids rated them a 6/10. Not too bad, but I don't think we need to go back.

Unfortunately, the kitchen didn't quite match that same level during this visit. The pork chop was significantly undercooked and not safe to eat, so I wasn't able to finish it. The accompanying components -- including the polenta underneath and the warm mix of green beans, tomatoes, and arugula -- had good flavor, which made it a bit disappointing that the main protein missed the mark. That said, proper cooking -- especially with pork -- is critical, and this is an area that needs attention.
