Nope, I'll stick to the one on the north side. Waffel was the same batter as the pancakes. Were not worth it. Eggs were cooked too early so they were cold. Went to eat at George's with my family that rarely comes into town, they locked the door on the rest of our party and we were sat my 7:22. They don't close until 8. One of the guys said "don't they know we're about to f****** close?" How rude. I have been a restaurant manager for the last 10 years and would never treat a customer this way. So I very much enjoy this restaurant. The very first thing I noticed was how clean the female restroom was. I know everyone has been cleaning more and safer for Covid but this was like "at home clean" it was bright, clean, warm and overall comfortable. Now for the food. I think it's excellent for the amount and price. There is not a lot of turn over so if you are a regular the staff will remember your name and order(s) down to how you take your coffee. It's an extremely inviting atmosphere. Never too loud or stuffy. I've never been disappointed with any dish this restaurant has to offer. I've eaten here over 25 times and although it may not be a 5 Star it has always been consistently pretty good. The folks are nice, they support the high schools as evidenced by the posters on the wall, several are from my granddaughters. The prices are reasonable. I'll be back again for sure. read more

1.619 stars Let me start off by saying I am 33 years young. In my life I have experienced plenty of catastrophic events. The death of Tupac Shakur, the Rise and Fall of D Generation X, and Joe Biden as president of the United States. And today on Tuesday October 19, 2021 I add yet another event. My offspring behaving in a non domesticated fashion in an establishment that lacked the manpower to deliver a service the advertised. We came in at approximately 1834 hours. Very welcoming environment, upon first glance there were 4 tables occupied all with their food already served. We took our seats and placed our order by 1838. The order was not the least bit complicated. 4 burgers plain and dry with fries as their companion. One jumbo burger plain and dry with fries as the ally, one mushroom Swiss and one regular George's special burger with Idaho spuds thick sliced, fried and salted. Before stepping in the line of work I am currently in, I use to dabble in the world of culinary arts. The average fast food burger under the most scrutinizing conditions can be made edible and plated within 4 1/2 minutes, cooking time on some decent carbs no more than 5min. It is with this knowledge that I have acquired over the years that I came to the 1.619 star rating. My daughter and my son were behaving like characters out of a cave man era cinematic creation. This did not help. Order was placed 1838 hours (6:38pm) at about 1913 hours (7:13pm) I decided to call it a night on this matter. I loaded up my troops and came back in with every intention to cancel my order. The person at the front assured me that the order was being assembled, so I asked for it to go. At 1924 hours (7:24pm) only 11 minutes later (twice the time of the average burger spot) is when I finally received my order. Seeing as how I had to take my duties at my place of work, I started ruffling through the bags of fries which looked as tho someone was stealing fries out of a buffet line, they were bunches on parchment paper and thrown loosely in a bag. The burger I received was the George special. There was nothing special about this burger, typical meat and condiments. I have experienced better spices and flavor in a commissary line at a high level security correctional facility. All in all I was disappointed with my bloodlines behavior as well as with the execution time of the establishment. It took nearly 45 min to receive 6 plain and dry burgers and on mushroom Swiss, with an abundance of loosely thrown fries. What made it worst is that I ate my burger 2 min after receiving it and it had already tasted like something that had been left out for 20 min tops. I have suspended all dine in privileges for my kin due to the events that occurred today. I have eaten at numerous "George's Restaurant " establishments from California, Nevada and Colorado and have never been disappointed until today, they have sullied the good name of George and everything he has provided. I wanna say the thing that took full effect tonight was Murphy's Law. Unfortunately I don't find any excuse suitable for the extensive wait time for the simplicity of the order. I've eaten at far more exotic and complex establishments and waited less than this. Also the price for 6 plain burgers and a mushroom swiss with fries on all came out to just over $70 with a drink. Drinks consisted of 4-8oz drinks and 3- 20oz EXTREMELY iced down drinks. I had high hopes for this place, and due to its location and simplicity, we even contemplated having some of our business lunch gatherings here but unfortunately it looks like I have some More searching to do. Went there with my family for a final lunch before leaving Lubbock. The Good: The portions are big and the prices are low. I had a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Both were made quite well. The glasses are huge and filled with crushed ice - the kind I like. There's a big screen in the corner to watch TV. The Bad: The food is very heavy. I only got through about half of my meal before calling it quits. There's nothing unique or exciting about it. Just traditional south plains food. Overall: I'd go there again if someone else wanted to, but it's not at the top of my list of must-visit places. read more

This review reflects the way I was treated by the owner and not by the staff or even the food. I was actually a regular, who picked up take out once a week. I loved the staff! I loved the food! I always enjoyed talking to everyone when I picked up my food! They were so friendly and made my day brighter! This day, the owner answered the phone and I placed my order with him (I didn't know he was the owner when he took my order). His English was a bit broken, and he ended up taking my order wrong. I'm not sure if he just didn't hear me or didn't understand what I ordered. I picked up our supper and went home. When I got home, I realized MY meal was not in there, but we had 2 extra Philly sandwiches. I called Georges and the young girl told me to come back and they would give me the correct order. I had ordered 2 burrito deluxes. I asked her if I needed to take these back and she said no. I kind of figured that due to health codes/Covid that they couldn't take it back anyway. When I get there, an older man comes to the window, clearly angry and is rude to me. He says that I ORDERED THAT. I told him that I have always gotten the burrito deluxe. He was stomping around, yelling at whoever was there. The cook and girl at the window apologized that I had to see him acting like that. I asked if he was the owner, the girl said yes. She was so upset because he yelled at her and she asked if I could go home and bring the Phillys back. I asked "he wants them back!?" I was not going to drive back home AGAIN, pick up phillys and come back! I told her I was so sorry, but I would never come back there again. The food is good, the staff and cook are awesome! The parking lot is always full. Thinking that might mean the food is really good. It was horrible. I live right across the street and always pass by and figured to try it out. The service is slow and never refilled our drinks. We were only there a short time due to once the food got to our table we immediately regretted it, took a few bites, paid and left. Got the two specials, the breakfast plate and juevos rancheros. The eggs were over easy, white, no color, no flavor. The toast, no color, no flavor, just white. The potatoes, white, no color, no flavor. The juevos rancheros were a joke. The sauce was just water with a hint of tomato flavor and so many onions. The sausages were burnt hockey pucks. The bacon was ok. Other than the sweet old man who filled our drink order, the rest of the experience was horrible. I have learned not to judge a restaurant by the full parking lot. Waitress was great. However, we ordered the liver and onions, and it was grisly and we were unable to eat it. Poor flavor. When the waitress approached the cook, we could hear him yelling from the kitchen, saying, "you have got to be kidding me!". She was very apologetic and took off one meal cost - we went ahead and paid that because we did eat the salads that came with the meal and had tea. In hindsight, we should not have probably paid anything. It was bad. We will not return due to the behavior of staff - Owner and cook who never apologized and the poor waitress was left to apologize, and this was not her fault. We were not angry or anything but disappointed at the cook and owner's behavior. We will not return. read more

Since Covid I have been placing to go orders at this restaurant without incident until last week when out of the three platters I ordered only one was accurate. I contacted them and was told "next time you order we will make it right"... that was a lie. I called a few days later and was told by Saeed that there was no record of that botched order but I could call back when the other manager was there.. maybe she'd remember me. "What!?! Okay.. Par... Very par.... Can be hit or miss on the food and service. They close when they feel like it, so if you feel rushed, you probably are. Not terrible, and it is clean. I went here for dinner with my wife and in laws. Our server was prompt and extremely friendly. I had the chicken fried chicken, my wife had the enchiladas, and the in-laws had the club sandwich and an omelette. My chicken was excellent - crispy outside, very juicy inside. The mashed potatoes left something to be desired however; they were very dry. My wife's enchiladas were also quite good. We'll definitely be back. read more
