I rarely get to shop at the mall on a solo trip now but when I do, I like to visit the food court for a delicious meal. JR has a significant decline in good customer service. This place used to be lively with tons of employees. There was one cook and one cashier. The amount mentioned to me and what I saw on the receipt were completely different. They try to make you use the self service ordering system but that also charges you a surcharge. I have a huge sanitary concern when I found something metallic in my meal. I wonder if it's their cleaning tools or stove top area not being cleaned throughly. The owner or the GM of this location doesn't care about his customers. I'm not sure why he's still employed when he's clearly doing nothing to make this location better. I will never eat here again, any time I feel like my health is at risk, it's a no for me. read more

My experience there was bitter sweet at the start of my order my waitress was an older women with black hair I heard be call Gege or Jennifer" she was EXTREMELY rude placed her finger in my face at the counter told me to hold on a few moments then when it was nx order I ordered a milkshake when she gave it to me it tasted like peanut butter (which I have allergies too btw) I told her if she could please make a new one she rolled her eyes at me and was commenting something under her breath and walkedto the back room I sat there for about five minutes when another women approached me she was tiny with blonde hair asked me if everything was ok i expressed my discomfort and croncern. If I could do 0 stars I would we sat at the counter waited for about 10 minminutes before we got menues thrown at us. Then another 10 mins went by and we ordered. We got our chili cheese fries withing a minute. The chili was burnt!!! No drinks. 5 more mins and after asking twice we got out 1/2 filled cups with no ice. All the customers were getting wrong orders and the other 2 people sitting a the counter had the same awful experience as us. Never coming back they should jot be open. Food was actually pretty good, but they padded up the bill. I saw the waiter key in a different number for the credit card that was higher than what was on the bill. I was shopping with my friend and we decided to stop in, it wasn't busy. I usually love their shakes and chili cheese fries and told my friend she has to try it! We got in sat down and saw these two waitresses leaning against the counter just talking they glanced over at us and then just kept talking. I said to myself ok I'll give them 10 minutes. No menus in our hand no waters sent over to the table. So they glanced over and just kept talking again...which then began to really piss me off now! I got up walked behind the counter and grabbed menus and the waitresses gave me a glare and I looked at them and said sorry you can't do your job! I'm sorry your job isn't hard. You work at the mall at Johnny Rockets.... Then the cook came over and took our order he was very polite. But when you have bad service like that, you aren't going to get a good tip from me. Like some sort of demonically possessed lunatic, I have a breakdown of coherent thought and spew an incomprehensible word salad of otherworldly imagery, Inevitably I end up at Johnny Rockets. Only after eating do I regain consciousness. Like a naked werewolf minus the bloody fingernails, I'm ashamed and embarrassed. I usually pull my hood over my head and flee the scene. In summary: dirty and unfriendly. Avoid this place and try Burlington Mall location! I visited in November 4th at 6:25pm and sat at the bar. There were two servers working - Sarah and Jay. Sarah flat out ignored me, Jay came over to assist me about five minutes after I had sat down. Jay was cordial but certainly not friendly and clearly did not want to be there. When I mentioned me gluten sensitivity, he did nothing other than tell me they do not have gluten free buns. That's fine - wasn't expecting one - but I have come to expect that a server will inquire a bit more about my dietary restriction and at least tell the chef about it - Jay did none of these. While I was waiting for my food, I observed many things that made me wish I had chosen another restaurant. The chef never once changed his gloves during my 40 minute period there, and Sarah and Jay both handled fries, etc. with no gloves on. In the meantime, Sarah is counting her tips and then going back to the fries! Yuck! Their space behind the counter was very dirty and disorganized. My food came out as expected but the two slices of bacon in my burger had been cooked on top of one another and were stuck together. I then noticed that the cook had a pile of bacon precooked just sitting to the side in the grill - definitely not freshly cooked. Jay never asked me how my food was - he did ask if I wanted to order anything else. Sarah's friends were visiting and she spent a lot of time talking to them rather than attending her tables. I work in the industry - their working conditions are absolutely unsanitary and disgusting. I will not ever return, and would advise everyone to do the same. read more

Probably not the place to get a hearty bowl of chili, but definitely the place to go for some chili cheese fries, especially if you don't like beans like myself. My favorite burger is the Smoke House - bbq sauce, cheddar, bacon, and onion rings! The burgers are always juicy and cooked to order. Wash it all down with a flavored soda, milkshake or float. Yum! Yes, that all sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen. That's why Johnny's is a place to indulge in once in a while. It makes it all that much more special. This has been my son's favorite restaurant for years! It is owned by a family, and the son is a fantastic manager. He has been great to my son over the years. It is rare to see an individual to dedicated and in tune to customer service. The staff is good and well trained. I particularly like the chilli cheese fries, the rocket double, and the philly cheese steak.. and friends have told me they make very good onion rings! For drinks you can go with one of their delicious shakes, or you can opt for something even more throwback like a root beer float (or use whatever other soda you please instead of root beer). I turned my phone into Apple to get my screen fixed so I had an hour to kill. I asked the Genius Bar tech if he had any food suggestions, and he recommended I came here. So I walked over and asked the two people standing in front if they were in line. They said no, they had already ordered, and explained that you wait here to take your order or to get a table (or something like that). One waitress was working her tail off and visited the cashier stand that I was waiting by two times before asking if I had been helped. I said no and that I was waiting and she says one of the girls will assist me. Those girls stared at me while folding their napkins but never once came over. Now, I'm not afraid to make eye contact to get someone's attention but they both looked back at me and didn't help!! Were their feet glued to the floor?? Finally the busy waitress rescues me and tells me that I could just pick a seat. I ordered the single smokehouse burger & fries. Nice waitress lady brought my fries out before the burger, which was great since I was starving and was at the mall alone with no phone to distract me. She even drew a cat using ketchup on my plate. She was incredible. The burger was great. I couldn't even finish the meal because it was so filling. The fries are like steak fries (which I love). The burger had the right amount of sauce to fried onions to bacon to meat ratio. Yum. I will definitely order it to go next time, and maybe with chili & cheese on my fries. I would not recommend this place to a fellow germophobe. The doors to the kitchen were greasy and the jukebox at the table with the ketchup stains grossed me out. This place's seating rules are confusing. There is a sign that says to wait but you generally can see yourself if you're not a big group. I sat at the counter. No one greeted me and even seemed to notice me at first. There was a manager but he was working on his laptop in one of the booths. Someone got me a menu and then told me someone would be right over. My server was stiff but okay. Overall, no one really smiled. Service was mediocre at best. Got an original burger that was tasty. It came out in a timely manner. Cheese was 1.19 extra. This is probably the worse burger I've ever had (Burger King tastes wonderful in comparison) I had the "Pepper Jack Burger" and they might as well call it cardboard meat between a bun for the dry, tough and completely flavourless chunk of protein in the middle. Seriously, at the not so modest prices they're charging ($5.55) for such crap (have these people heard of S&P for seasoning?) The fries were another atrocity ($1.95) - tasting like McCain material from the oven. With a mall that is full of some higher end sit down restaurants, this place is the only place that is neither high end nor mall food court style and has decent prices. One of the worst burgers I've ever had. It was in a mall food court so my expectations weren't high, but I've had Big Mac's with more flavor. I like the idea of the burger. Fresh meat, not a frozen patty, fried up with fresh veggies on top. Somehow the burger ends up tasting like lettuce, bacon, and cheese sandwich. To make things worse, it set me back $11. This place is disgusting! I went here with a couple of friends tonight and I didn't even order any food because it was so bad. The place just looks dingy inside, and I saw our waiter reach into a drawer full of fried chicken and pull some out without wearing any gloves. All the employees seemed to be running around like chickens with their heads cut off and stressed out. Went to JR's for lunch today and got two burgers, fries and onion rings. The burger was really good but the fries were not good at all. I think I was eating leftover fries or something because it was bland and not crunchy at all. The onion rings were on the same boat as the fries but they were even more soggy. When I'm in the mood for a burger, Johnny Rockets is one of my top 5 picks. I know that it's in a mall, but when you're in Johnny Rockets, it's a different atmosphere. I always order a burger with the 1/2 french fries and 1/2 onion rings. The waiter/waitress pours the ketchup in a little bowl for us and gives a plate of ranch dress for the onion rings. I usually order The Original, Route 66, or Smoke House burger. They're all good. It's definitely nice for a family setting. After going back again today, the burgers tasted different. It was unbelievably good this time around. I'm not sure what they did, but they did something right to them! I hope to get the same experience when I go back next time. read more
