Patty Melt

Tried the cherry coke float and it was alright. Also ordered the patty melt and it was nothing special. I should have tried something else. I give 2 stars for our waitress who was amazing and gave our kids a free little toy.

I wish I got our servers name, but he was amazing. The kids just wanted to get a quick bite to eat along with some shakes. We went in as a party of 8, we had to wait a little to be seated as there was birthday party just finishing up and they didnt have a table that could fit our family. We didnt mind waiting as the kids were playing games while we waited. our order was taken quiet quickly and our server was very attentive to each of us. 5 stars for their service, but I want to say 3-4 stars for their food. Their chicken strips were super dry (which I dont have a picture of, sorry), the fries were crispy, their nachos were perfect serving size and the shakes, well the kids drank up all, so I guess it was delicious, LOL... FYI: these pictures that are posted are super old, I guess I never finished my review from when these pictures were posted. Sorry....

My brother is home for the holidays, so we were hanging out one day at Ka Makana Ali'I and decided to get some lunch. He happened to notice that they have a Johnny Rockets on their property and suggested we go there. He had visited their location on the mainland in the past and loved the nostalgic feel of an old time diner. This particular location is quite fun because it's not just a restaurant. It's a Johnny Rockets Rock n Fun because there's also an arcade with games and a redemption center to win prizes. Lots of noise going on in here, so if you're looking for a quiet meal, this is not the place. I ordered the Route 66 burger that was made of Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, caramelized onions and mayonnaise. My brother got the Philly Cheese Steak. For our drinks, we had to get into the diner feel so we both got shakes. I got the Strawberry Oreo Crumble shake and he got the Strawberry shake. We also ordered a full order of onion rings and he got an order of chili cheese tater tots. The burgers do not come with fries, so if you want fries, you'll either need to order a side order of fries or order a full order like we did to share. First off, I couldn't believe how long it took for our food to arrive. I think it took about 30 minutes for the onion rings and chili cheese tater tots to arrive and then another 10 minutes or so for the burgers to arrive. It was not busy at all, so we were quite surprised by this. When seeing other customers get their orders later on, they received theirs much faster. There was never anything said about what was taking so long or some kind of update about how much longer it would take to get our food. The strawberry shakes were pretty good as there are actual bits of real strawberries in them. If you've got a sweet tooth, I'd recommend it. Go with the Deluxe Strawberry Oreo shake that costs a little bit more, but is worth the addition of Oreo crumbles in your shake. The onion rings were also good. They currently have regular onion rings that have the crumbles on them or the beer battered onion rings that have a smooth exterior. I'm not sure if they usually have beer battered ones because there's a special Christmas menu that they are on. I personally like crumbly coated onion rings, so I went with the regular. These are worth getting as they are pretty hefty/crunchy and don't just wilt on you within minutes as some places can do. Everything else was just alright. Definitely not worth the cost and the long wait. Service was super friendly. There was only one server, but man was he a bubbling ball of energy and delight! He even gave us a peppermint ball at the end to wish us a good day. Just for his friendliness, I gave another star for this review. Had this place been busy, I honestly don't know how he would have been able to handle it all, though. We took a quick tour of the arcade before we left. These machines don't give out tickets (as I think most arcades don't these days). You just swipe your card and if it's a game that would produce tickets, then it just adds the amount of 'tickets' you won to your card. There's a good variety of video games, 'ticket' producing games and a merry-go-round ride. Quite honestly though...with all the other food options at Ka Makana Ali'i, I wouldn't choose to come here again. If it was just a restaurant, I don't see how they would manage to stay in business. I think the arcade is the draw with a food establishment in it.

My diet coke and my boyfriend's lava flow

My boyfriend and I are here for lunch. He ordered the hot wings and I got the Philly cheese steak sandwich. It was good. I tried my boyfriend's wings and it was good also. To drink I had a diet Coke and he had the lava flow. This drink was good and you can hardly taste the alcohol. I would definitely like this to drink next time. Service was good although our server forgot to give me a refill before we were about to leave. Overall it was pleasant. Ambiance was nice. It's attached to a game room. I also noticed a bar in the middle of the game room. Pretty cool if you want an alcoholic drink. I would come back to eat here

Terrible food. Terrible service, Milkshake was good. Ambiance is quasi epileptic. Awful experience. Don't come. After we both ate one bite of our burgers, we looked at each other and said, "This is disgusting," and, "I'm not eating THIS." Then we told the waitress. She gave a 15% discount but made us pay for the inedible food. Bad. Bad. Bad. Poor service, I had to go into the kitchen to get our own silverware after calling for help loudly for 5 min after our food was delivered. Burgers served on a plate the size of the burger. Literally, a tiny plate, like a coffee cup saucer. I just cannot express how awful this eexperience was for us both.

Came here with a large group. I had no idea you could drink here! But hey, fun for adults and children! Junk that they don't serve individual pizzas. Only while pizzas and this flat bread that I turned into a pizza. The sauce on it was really disgusting. Tasted like tomato paste. The burger was very delicious though. Nicely cooked and put together! I really enjoyed the burger. Chicken strips and fries were pretty regular. What upset me was the price is ridiculously high! Customer service was good but they did lack employees and needed help with tending to customers and keeping track of people coming in and going. But they did their best with the little help they had and the amount of people that was there. The games were also very expensive! $50 was gone after 4 games! That's crazy to me! Please make the games cheaper since the food is already so expensive! It is loud in here with all the games and children but that's expected. Fun place to go with kids and friends. Just be prepared to spend a huge chunk of change!

Kid's (kieke) Mini Cheese Burgers with Fries.

Took junior to play some games and grab a quick lunch while we were there. The price for his food wasn't too bad and it came with a drink, that's not pictured. Considering, the last time we got food here was shortly after they just opened and the food was not the greatest but decided to give it a try again, so he could eat and continue playing games. Surprisingly enough, the burgers and fries tasted good, and he loved it. He loves burgers and fries. But i didn't realize you had to pay extra for cheese on his burger, which I don't have a problem paying for but they didn't tell me, I had to pay extra when they asked if I wanted it like the picture. I gave it 4 stars just because I had to clean the table before we sat down. Like most places, they don't have the staff to keep up with everything going on there. Will be back for more games and a snack in the future.

The Original Burger: comes fully furnished; I added mushrooms for a little more - ono!

Lousy burgers. And the appetizer with the bite size potatoes was awful too.

Also, did I really want a Sonic burger? The answer was an easy no. Did a quick search and found this place which I had no idea existed but now I know they exist in an excellent way. People come here to drink, I'm not a drinker but there was plentynof alcoholic beverages on the back wall for your choice that it could be overwhelming. This is a bar with indoor seating and a World Cup game was on. I think there was outdoor seating but it looked like a different restaurant to me. We ordered dirty fries, a sweet tea, the simple smash, village smash, and sweet tea. I have to admit, I'm overly harsh on burgers but from the first bite, this hit right to me. The dirty fries were good also. We washed down that salt with their mildly sweet sweet tea. That's the only miss for me as I like deep sweet tea thanks to some time spent in Mississippi earlier in life. Their food put themselves on my radar so we will definitely be back as we didn't even scratch the other meats they had on menu.

Our server informed us that it had been off and on for the past week, but went down since Friday. Not good for only being open for a year. They only had appetizers and salads, along with their bar, which offers a wide range of beers and wine by the glass, along with cocktails. Since we were technically "working", that had to wait for another time. Our server, Erin, was so nice and apologetic, even tho it wasn't her fault. For obvious reasons it was fairly slow, for a normal Sunday lunch crowd. Since we were pressed for time, we ended up just ordering a couple of appetizers; the sausage bites and chicken. They were both tempura style battered, and served with sauce or mustard on the side. The sausage had a slight spice to it, which was nice, and it was served piping hot pot of the fryer. A fork would've been nice, but they were small enough to eat by hand, but be careful, because they're pretty tough to bite thru. The chicken bites were smaller and easier to handle, although they were a bit dry, so the ranch furikake dipping sauce helped. We were out within 20 minutes, so very fast, and I'm hoping the griddle gets repaired soon, so I can try their burgers.

Outstanding Food, Vibes, and Live Music!…read more Had an amazing dinner experience at Mahi'ai Table last night with two friends! We specifically came out to support our friend who was the musical talent providing the live entertainment from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Our reservation was at 5:30 PM, and the vibe was so good that we stayed all the way until 9:00 PM. Because we arrived during the last 30 minutes of happy hour, we immediately ordered a major spread of pupus from the Pau Hana menu. We shared the lechon style brussel sprouts, hand-cut fries, steamed shrimp & pork won tons, scallion bread, and fish tacos. Every single bite was delicious. I paired the food with a Hana Koa Roof Top Pale Ale from their local drafts list, which was crisp and excellent. After happy hour wrapped up, I moved on to the dinner menu and ordered the Half Pound House Burger and fries for my entree. The burger was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Overall, the food and ambiance were absolutely outstanding, and the service was prompt, attentive, and friendly from start to finish. The noise level was perfectly moderate, letting us enjoy both the live music and our own conversation. We had a great time and will absolutely be back!

Nobody told me five guys had unlimited toppings for no charge!!!…read more Listen, I am not a burger person, so five guys never interested me. Until one day we grabbed dinner here with another family and I had to eat here, and I was shocked in the best way. I scanned the menu for something I could eat thinking I'm only eating fries, but then I saw the grilled cheese....and then I saw additional toppings are no extra charge?! And they serve mushrooms?! I added on that protein with veggies with ridiculous excitement. While waiting for the food, I really do appreciate that you can see it all being made, so I'm surprised no one talks about it for it's apparent freshness. And comparing the price for what you get, I hope they continue to stick around. The aesthetic of the place just screams old hospital with all the bright lights and white and red, and it kind of hurt my eyes so I'll eat here again, just not stick around. Call me crazy, but I liked the grilled cheese. Everything was smashed well that allowed the bread to melt together and be held by the cheese. I also appreciate the mushrooms being added and everything was good for the price. Why did I take a star off? Just needs a little more work cleaning. When we went, there was no one inthere, so there's no excuse for the kids chair being dirty with soda spilled on it and it was there before we walked in for who knows how long. They definitely had enough time to go over the store and prep for the rush, or in this case, for two families to come in and eat.
