Nice refuge from the hustle and bustle of Grand Sierra Casino. The casino was very busy and noisy on a Saturday and I needed a quieter place to dine. Johnny Rockets was just the place although it was pretty busy being a family restaurant and a weekend. Old fashioned diner style hamburger place downstairs from Grand Sierra. I do like their burgers and especially their fries. They have malts and milkshakes. Oldies music playing in the background. Clean, family fun. Our server was very nice and helpful. When me and fam first walked up to get seated (party of 7) the host told us they only had two tables that could accommodate a party of that size and she just sat both of them down. With her body language clear that she was overwhelmed and didn't want to deal with us, we decided to find another place to eat. It was at this point the server Tina came and suggested putting us in two booths next to each other, which we were totally cool with. The food was good and very reasonable, but the server, Tina, was what made this place. She was so down-to-earth it was incredibly refreshing to be around. We always enjoy JRs. We were there in September, and, while the food was as good as always, the milkshakes were...odd. The color, consistency, and taste were not milkshake-y. It was more like a powdered mix with incorrect proportions - like flavored ice water. Chicken strips? Crunchy & fresh. The hamburger? Juicy and delicious. The fries? Perfect. The shakes? Cold sadness. We will return. But, we'll forgo the shakes. read more

One of my last visits back home to Reno I stayed in the GSR. I can't lie, I almost forgot about this place! Shame on me as our server was amazing. A old dear friend and I wanted to catch up and thought this was a simple spot that wasn't very busy. We were greeted immediately and seated in the back in a small both. My being in a wheelchair, I often want out of sitting in it for long periods. Yet, I do get worried or embarressed it will be in someone's way if I sit somewhere. Our seating was right next to the servers station. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and assure me my wheechair was not an issue basically blocking half of that station. Very empathic. I really with I'd wrote this review while our server's name was fresh in my mind. She blew me away. She was fun, sweet, fast, and so kind. I've been to high cost establishments where you'd kind of expect the type of service that's stands out to be so stellar. She ensured I had fresh coffee and that cup was never empty. All in all the service was shockingly outstanding. Not what we expected. We each odered the same item. A crispy chicken BLT on sourdough and shared an order of chili cheese fries. Everything came out hot and not messy. We sat and talked for almost an hour an a half not seeing a wait. We were never rushed and she even brought me a togo cup for my coffee without my asking. Everything on the menu is a much more affordable option for the casino/hotel, and family friendly. Thank you to the staff for enhancing a great memory for me. Providing wonderful service. Great food. We were in Reno for my fiancé's birthday and stayed at Grand Sierra. It was so busy during the weekend we went so we didn't want to wait in the ridiculously long line. Although we stay at grand Sierra often and we use to have a Johnny rockets in Sac, this was actually our first time at a Johnny rockets and it didn't disappoint. I got the Philly cheesesteak and my fiancé got a burger. We shared chili cheese fries and a shake as well. My fiancé really enjoyed her burger and the Philly was delicious. Packed with the perfect amount of grilled veggies and meat. Some places make their Philly too salty so i try to shy away from it sometimes but the flavor was on point. The strawberry shake was one of the best I've had. The waitress was nice enough to split it in 2 cups for us. I didn't get her name but was so nice and attentive although it was super busy and there were young rowdy/rude kids everywhere. I'm sure she's used to dealing with that so she didn't seem phased by them. This will be our spot again if the buffet gets too busy when we're there. read more

I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars only because of the poor host service (no one was manning front of house) and slip hazard but the food was delicious. Long wait and understaffed but the available staff was very polite. Our server was very attentive and cordial despite the circumstances. The floor was very greasy and slippery. I ordered the rocket single with an impossible patty and American cheese. This was the best fast food/diner impossible burger I've ever had. I would 1,000% recommend to my other vegetarian friends and I will be back. read more

My boyfriend and I just entered Johnny Rockets just to get a snack. Our server was Tina she had excellent customer service and was very friendly . The restaurant was very clean and well maintained. We decided to go with the chicken club sandwich along with french fries. Everything was delicious and again customer service was on point I would recommend this restaurant to anybody the food was fresh. The fries were hot! I would definitely eat here again I definitely would recommend johnny Rockets to my friends and family not just for the food but for the hospitality . To which I said, "Sure! No problem. I private chef on the side and can probably teach ya a thing or two. You cannot just fire on one sandwich every ten to fifteen minutes." Counters not cleaned. Ketchup packets left on tables. Garbage clearly hadn't been taken out in a long time. So, let's just say, the Health Dept has been notified; the conditions are atrocious. I've always had a great experience at Johnny Rockets but as of late everything has changed. I waited a really long time for my food and when I express my concern for the wait and a manager/supervisor laughed in my face. His name was Carl.. this is not the first time I've had to deal with him or see him treat staff with respect. I'm in the industry myself and it's such a joke for a man in his position to sit on his behind while everyone around him worked to make things work... there are so many better options than this man.. great food... great servers... atrocious leadership... if it weren't for the women under him who literally do his job unless A general manger or boss of some sort is around... if I owned a restaurant, ran a restaurant or even attended the establishment and witnessed this; You would see the whole company is compromised and in need of change ... the ladies are amazing the older gentleman Mike is also amazing... a lot of business is about how it's ran.. and the way Carl treats his staff and peers makes me want to boycott Johnny Rockets but it also motivates me to have anything and everything done to see this place be how it was... I will reach out to every resource available to see my favorite place be my favorite place again... if someone could contact me about how to get a hold of upper management it'd be amazing because I've complained about this mans disgusting demeanor, lack of work ethic and courtesy before and was told personally by him that a man named Hamlet would help me with my inquiries and never heard a damn thing... there's good people at the place and they make people smile. We were in the pool of GSR and after that, we were standing in front of Johnny Rockets for like 15 mins and nobody is coming up to take our order, there is one staff in the front she was busy but she does not seem to notice us I am sure she knows we were waiting, so finally, she spoke, unknowingly she was the manager of the day Anne, Miss Anne just told in my husband's face that" I will not take your orders if you are going to let your kids sit in those chairs you are not going to get served here. " May I ask you Is this right I think what you're saying or sounds to me like "Go away if you could not remove your kids in those chairs or else you can never get served just go away". What is wrong with telling your customers " Hey sir kids are not allowed to sit in those chairs rather than blankly telling us off not to served if your kids are sitting in those chairs? Miss Anne by the way Manager Anne we ask your name to one of the staff because you dont want to talk to us or served us and you ask another person to take our order. Miss Anne, why are you wearing five or six bangles, im not sure but it's a lot(lol) of big gold bangles while working? My husband and I have our lunch because i loved their choc strawberry malt. We have an energetic, funny and very attentive server name KEITH from San Diego, as in his nameplate. He knows what we need without telling him. He even get out of his way of splitting my shake into two which i really want to. And he's so funny and entertaining, no dull moment for him. I visited Johnny Rockets while staying at the Grand Sierra Resort and had a great experience. There was no wait time during the early afternoon and got a table right away. The hostess was friendly and I had an amazing server named Tina! Tina was an absolute sweetheart and provided great service. I ordered the original turkey burger with fries and my food was delicious. What a fun experience!!! We've been to many Johnny Rockets restaraunts between California and Nevada and never have we experienced such a fun and dedicated staff. Lyndel met us at the front and immediately made a connection with my children (ages 10 and 14). We dined there today and had Daniel as our waiter. He was such a great waiter! My daughter enjoyed her lunch and her shake. All our food was cooked perfectly and timely, the service was on point. Someone in our group even left a package behind by accident, and Tina had it waiting for her when she returned. I stopped by once and got a good snapshot. The service is excellent. Your food is served fast. They frequently check on you to see how things are going. The food is good. The grilled cheese sandwich is excellent. The fries are kind of average, and the portion is small. Everything on the menu is way overpriced. My family just had a wonderful lunch at Johnny Rockets. We had a great server named Tina. The food was awesome. We had burgers, fries, tots and don't forget the shakes! She took forever getting our drinks, I mean our food was out before the other half of our drinks. Also she didn't refill us once or ask if we were ok. I wish that the only one wasn't in a casino. I went out of my way to eat here, being I have eaten at others in other cities. It is consistant with the others.
