I love the 50's style look of Johnny Rockets - the red and white vinyl seating in the booths and Formica tables are awesome, the bright decor felt very inviting! We came in for a late night snack while we stayed at Grand Sierra Resort. We ordered an Original burger, a Route 66 with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, and grilled onions plus a Bacon Cheddar burger with a lettuce wrap. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. And, our food came out quickly! We were impressed! The burgers were cooked medium-rare, juicy, and flavorful. Our fries and vanilla milkshake were the perfect accompaniment to the burgers, too! I'm glad that Grand Sierra Resort has so many food options: a buffet, a cafe, fancy restaurants, pizza, burgers. Sometimes, we just want a good burger with no-frills and a good price point... and Johnny Rockets more than fills that need! read more

I was with my mom who does not eat beef and the only pork item was bacon so we ordered the BLT. We received our water cups and they were dirty as hell, not OK. I think Johnny Rockets need to fix address these issues. 5 stars all the way for our server, Tina. With her body language clear that she was overwhelmed and didn't want to deal with us, we decided to find another place to eat. It was at this point the server Tina came and suggested putting us in two booths next to each other, which we were totally cool with. The food was good and very reasonable, but the server, Tina, was what made this place. She was so down-to-earth it was incredibly refreshing to be around. It was more like a powdered mix with incorrect proportions - like flavored ice water. Chicken strips? Crunchy & fresh. The hamburger? Juicy and delicious. The fries? Perfect. The shakes? One of my last visits back home to Reno I stayed in the GSR. I can't lie, I almost forgot about this place! Shame on me as our server was amazing. A old dear friend and I wanted to catch up and thought this was a simple spot that wasn't very busy. We were greeted immediately and seated in the back in a small both. My being in a wheelchair, I often want out of sitting in it for long periods. Yet, I do get worried or embarressed it will be in someone's way if I sit somewhere. Our seating was right next to the servers station. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and assure me my wheechair was not an issue basically blocking half of that station. Very empathic. I really with I'd wrote this review while our server's name was fresh in my mind. She blew me away. She was fun, sweet, fast, and so kind. I've been to high cost establishments where you'd kind of expect the type of service that's stands out to be so stellar. She ensured I had fresh coffee and that cup was never empty. All in all the service was shockingly outstanding. Not what we expected. We each odered the same item. A crispy chicken BLT on sourdough and shared an order of chili cheese fries. Everything came out hot and not messy. We sat and talked for almost an hour an a half not seeing a wait. We were never rushed and she even brought me a togo cup for my coffee without my asking. Everything on the menu is a much more affordable option for the casino/hotel, and family friendly. Thank you to the staff for enhancing a great memory for me. Providing wonderful service. Great food. Johnny Rockets was just the place although it was pretty busy being a family restaurant and a weekend. Old fashioned diner style hamburger place downstairs from Grand Sierra. We were in Reno for my fiancé's birthday and stayed at Grand Sierra. It was so busy during the weekend we went so we didn't want to wait in the ridiculously long line. Although we stay at grand Sierra often and we use to have a Johnny rockets in Sac, this was actually our first time at a Johnny rockets and it didn't disappoint. I got the Philly cheesesteak and my fiancé got a burger. We shared chili cheese fries and a shake as well. My fiancé really enjoyed her burger and the Philly was delicious. Packed with the perfect amount of grilled veggies and meat. Some places make their Philly too salty so i try to shy away from it sometimes but the flavor was on point. The strawberry shake was one of the best I've had. The waitress was nice enough to split it in 2 cups for us. I didn't get her name but was so nice and attentive although it was super busy and there were young rowdy/rude kids everywhere. I'm sure she's used to dealing with that so she didn't seem phased by them. This will be our spot again if the buffet gets too busy when we're there. read more

Long wait and understaffed but the available staff was very polite. Our server was very attentive and cordial despite the circumstances. The floor was very greasy and slippery. I ordered the rocket single with an impossible patty and American cheese. This was the best fast food/diner impossible burger I've ever had.
