We recently went to Johnny's and sat at the bar. Ricky helped us, and went above and beyond with quick but intentional service and great recommendations from the menu and wine. Ordered the 6 oz filet and what I got were actually 2 small filet medallions that were lacking in flavor. Thank goodness I ordered them rare, or they surely would've been overcooked. I placed my order as such: I would like the Johnny's Stuffed Meatloaf with a house side salad. If the salad comes on top, I will send it back... What they served was two very tender meatloaf medallions stuffed with ricotta cheese, covered in a Cabernet demi glace, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. I never order meatloaf in a restaurant, and it's because I've yet to find anyone who has taken it as seriously as Johnny's. The steaks were fine but nothing to write home about, and the sides felt a bit uninspired. When making the reservations they left out the fact that you could ONLY have the Buffet for Mother's Day and it was $55 per person.... FOR A BUFFET???? The food was just okay nothing horrible but not worth 55$$$$ They did try to make it right by taking off the cost of one meal... When it comes time to pay they can only take 4 different credit cards..when there was 5 couples...UGH!!! I ordered the Johnny's steak house burger with french fries. It was a large burger on a brioche bun with bacon, shoe-string onions, steak sauce, lettuce and tomato. It was a classic burger, cooked well with a plethora of fries. I had no complaints. We decided to splurge and have dessert. My mom had the Creme Brulee, which was creamy and the perfect crusted top that tasted like the campfire marshmallows. I ordered the Limoncello cake and was disappointed. It was bitter tasting from the limoncello, over cooked, dark in color on top and bottom making it dry and dense, to the point I couldn't eat more than a bit. The service was fine. Not much to say there. The server was polite but then again over charged us on the steak that contradicted the menu. After 3 years we decided to come back for yet another date night. Bartender said "how can I help you?" Instead of "what can I get you to drink?" Made us feel really out of place, sure we're in our 30s and everyone else was at least 20-30 years older then us but wow were there to eat and drink like everyone else. We order a few beers, the bartender calls our Modelo "modeyos" multiple times trying to be funny but making things extremely awkward. We ordered the HH margarita flatbread and then the zucchini fries. Took about 20 minutes for both, they were just ok, nothing great but we were hungry, then put in our order with the female bartender (much more professional, easier to talk to and preferred her!) we got the chicken parm split with a side of mashed potatoes an then it comes with a salad and bread/butter. Took over 10 min for the salad and bread/butter and both just average. Then closer to 25 min for a split parm with lumpy mashed potatoes. It was rubbery, burnt and no flavor at all. Luckily our server was great and took off the $25 meal, but overall our experience was awful. Won't be back. Came here to celebrate our mother's birthday. Had family from WA, NV and CA. Ordered a good amount of food and spent a great amount of money. Ordered the "midwest's best filet mignon". Definitely not the best at all. Got the 10oz and asked for med rare. The picture shows how disappointing it was. The service from our server Sicily was outstanding that's the only reason I gave this review two stars. She gave us exceptional service and will come back as long she is our server. This is one of our favorite places to go for an nice dinner. I see that a lot of the negative reviews are about how long everything takes but you need to expect that. This isn't a fast food restaurant. It's a nice Italian restaurant with multiple courses. We love it because we know we can sit and have a good time and not be rushed. We typically have the worst customer service anywhere we go except for this restaurant. We've been here a handful of times and every single time we've had an amazing waiter or waitress. Everyone is always so friendly and accommodating. The food is really really good and we've never had issues with any of that either. The only problem was the four entrees we were supposed to get salads. We didn't receive any of the four salads. Fast forward to tonight. My wife and I were having a stay-at-home date night. We were excited to eat the food. When the delivery came, my wife's entree and salad were not in the bag. Very frustrating. Tried to call the restaurant, and the phone just rang and rang.
