If I could give a negative 1star I would. we spent over 25,000 dollars for work. 4 ductless central air units. Took out our oil heating system and put a new system in. Fast forward just under 3 years and we have a massive leak in our ceiling from the upstairs air unit. They used plastic pipes that were not correctly installed. They literally duct taped them together. My entire dining room ceiling is ruined from water. We called and Dave came out to see. Today we hear back from the company that they would only do the repair if we " let them service everything they installed, at my husband's and mine expense". How is this ok? It feels like blackmail. You will only repair the mistake that your company made if I pay for full service! I don't think so. I will be calling the better business bureau. I will be calling my township to let them know how you operate. I will be calling anyone who accredits your company! Im beyond disgusted, and stuck with a destroyed ceiling and a bad pipe in my ceiling. I will be calling my realtor who recommended you! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! They installed my air conditioning unit 10 months ago. I woke up today to see my basement wet as the unit is leaking. The call center service rep was very abrasive and rude. I called back an hour later and Nelson told me that they were too busy. I finally received a call and set up a time for someone to come out. Robert came out and was super nice and helpful. He explained the issue and got us fixed up quickly. Thank God for Robert! He needs a raise! Robert deserves 5 stars!! read more

Our 15 month Goodman compressor blew in mid October, the second unit installed in 4.5 years. I'm beginning to question Goodman quality at this point but I must give John's A/C kudos for service! I called the main office and Rob the technician was there in literally minutes. He did everything, every test and procedure to get it running to no avail. He even came back at 6am the next day (my request) but it was a no go. This was a job for the old master. Within a couple of 60 degree days and 48 degree nights Bill was back and Rob assisted. These are great people! They know your comfort is of utmost importance and they genuinely care. Anyway, a little over 2 hours later I am sitting in beautiful 70 degree cool air with the compressor cycling on and off quite nicely. It's almost like they know my wife's middle initial is K which I say stands for Karen! You know what I mean! So now us old folks can enjoy our 44th wedding anniversary with peace of mind! It's true! 44 years of peaceful wedded bliss and two of them were good! read more

Beyond disappointed with the overall service of this poor company. I should begin with the answering service they have. The owners wife, Margaret, who takes the calls in the morning is the most unprofessional being I have ever interacted with. Not only did she hang up on me after my third call to request service, but lied and never added my name to the list of houses that had to be serviced. I had to call multiple times the following day to have a different employee answer. This is when I found out that my information was never taken or added. Our family used John's to install a brand new AC unit and with 48 hours it was back to blowing no air and our home reading 82 degrees plus. The first repairman they sent out claimed the unit just needed freon. He went on his merry way and we believed his expertise. Another night of setting up fans throughout the house and the thermostat reading over 81. The next day is when I began calling for another serviceman to come that day. This is when I encounter the grouch on the phone who intentionally left my family off of the list to be serviced. Little do they know that my elderly father suffers from multiple, severe, heart conditions and cannot tolerate such heat. I will never recommend or use this company again. Johns AC installed 5 ductless air conditioners in our home and we have had nothing but problems ever since. They're repairmen have had to come out no less than 11 times in a year. Now, the company has been sold to Frank- and he is a nightmare! He wants to continue to come out to "assess" the problem. Last time I spoke with Frank- he shared with me that their company gets paid every time they come out for a repair on the warranted Daiken units- so apparently they are fine with the continued issues! Even though they know the hits and their workmanship were sub par, when we call for an issue- we are told they can't schedule anyone to come out for days. Spend your money elsewhere with a company that stands. Whine their work. read more

When we needed to have brand new AC installed, including ALL the ductwork, we had trouble finding suggestions from friends and family (apparently everyone else was smart enough to buy homes that already had central air). I set up 4 different estimates - two were big name companies and two were family owned, smaller businesses. Dan from John's AC explained everything very clearly, and was able to work out a price while still at my house!! The price was the best we had heard so far - by a few grand! They also said that because of the layout of our house it could be done in ONE day, and they had openings in just two weeks. After getting one more estimate, we decided on John's AC & Heat and we booked the installation. The crew that came the day of the installation was friendly and courteous, explained all of the paperwork clearly, took my cell in case there was any issue while I was at work, and then started working. They were very respectable of my house, trying their best to put things back where they belonged and cleaning up their mess along the way. It's always scary finding someone to do a big home improvement project, but we are so happy that we decided on John's AC & Heat. I would trust John's for any AC or heat issues in my home, and I will definitely be recommending them to others. read more

My furnace fan was inoperative on a day with a 97 degree forecast. John's installed my ac system so I gave them a call. Everything was examined and repaired in 15 minutes. $314 for a $10 relay. No upfront estimate provided or hint of cost by technician or office. Further when the technician arrived and noticed me with my mask said he left his in the truck and would go back and get it. After trying to revive our old heater with other companies, John's came in and simply said not to waste money fixing and to get a new one with the correct size. So we got a good price, good warranty and great customer service. Initial visit was on a Thursday and all work was completed on Tuesday. They even helped me get financing for some of the cost. I called first thing in the morning and spoke with Anita who was very friendly and eager to HELP. I told her that another company wanted 6000 to replace my furnace and water heater after coming to determine why the furnace was not working. I stated how a review indicated that another customer had been in the same boat. Another dealer tried to sell,instead of repair, when it wasn't necessary. A tech named Nick came to our home and went right to work. Nick told me about a wrecked circuit board, which the other one did also. Nick replaced the board and did some cleaning of the unit. The final cost for the furnace work was under 500 bucks! Due to the way John's does business, I will be using them for my water heater install. It is because of people, and businesses like these, that I still use the same mechanic as well. I've been using my mechanic for close to 30 years because while my dealer may tell me that I need work done, he always sets me straight, and tells me only what may need to be done. Why don't these businesses get it? They would rather fleece you for a day,instead of keeping you for life. read more

Johns heating and a/c Is a rip off. The person replaced a capacitor that took less than 15 minutes to install and charged me $314. They installed the heater and A/C when new, that's why I called them in the first place. The day they installed it ,it was pouring rain and when they went to place the new heater in what I call a utility room they broke the drain on my hot water heater and the room filled with water and they had no equipment to remove the water. My brand new heater was sitting in 2 feet of water along with my hot water heater .John the owner said I was lucky they did not charge me to fix the drain on the hot water heater even after they broke it. This was my experience with this company over a period of time. Today I called the office to complain, the girl on the phone said that $314 was a fair price and that other companies would have charged between $150.00 and $500.00 to do the same work and that they were in the middle of that price range. The I'll call a technician said I should have called Horizon they are cheaper. Did not offer a Veterans, senior, disabled or on a fixed income discount. I told the girl that I would never call them again and she said she would place a note in my file stating so. Woke up to no Heat. Called Johns AC & Heat and spoke to a real person, said they would be out between 10-2 and would call before they come. I got a call at 10:30 from Mike saying he was on his way. Mike arrived diagnosed the issue in 10 minutes went to pensauken from Glassboro and got the part and was done by 12:30. He answered all of our questions and cleaned up inside our heater. Best of all, our price was reasonable and did not get taken advantage of due to our emergency situation. Completely exceeded our expectations. Would certainly use them again! read more

I had a new a/c heating unit installed in 2012.Last year, it was blowing hot air, they told us you need Freon, it was a charge of $100. This year I called three times before the owner called. I told him it was reading 80 plus in my house. He came out personally and advised we needed a new coil. this was all be covered under warranty. After the guy installed it he wanted to collect 53 bucks for a warranty job. I refused to pay. John also said he would reimburse me for the 100 bucks for the year before. Now he doesn't return calls. My parents are older and suffer from medical conditions and these guys want $$$ read more

I called John's because they installed my air conditioning unit and the humidity level in my house was as high or higher than outdoors. The Technician showed up, checked inside and outside and claimed there was nothing wrong with my system. I say claimed because I called another company today, had a repairman here within an hour who diagnosed two separate issues, repaired those issues, and already there is a noticeable difference in the comfort level of my house. I cannot believe I was charged $50 to be told there was nothing wrong when there was clearly a problem. I wouldn't recommend this company. read more

If I could give negative 10 stars I would. I contracted with John's AC and Heat to install a new second zone AC/heat system and replace the old furnace and water heater. Simple HVAC 101, right? WRONG! The installers looked like they were pulled off the street, smoked in my home, and left cigarette butts in my yard. They left boxes and trash in my yard when there was a huge rented dumpster in my driveway. My general contractor had to clean up their mess. This was day 1 and 2. 4 PERMIT APPLICATION DENIALS, 4 FAILED INSPECTIONS, and 3 MONTHS LATER, the job was finally done. No care given to quality of work, ducts crushed, returns not sealed, etc. I was denied contact with the owner and only when he was looking to get paid did he finally call me. And claimed he knew nothing about any of the problems that had gone on. Their terrible work cost me 3 extra mortgage payments, 3 months of rent and utilities at my current home where I'm staying until renovations are done, and set back my entire renovation back 3 months. When I asked the owner to take $2000 off the job for all my costs, delays, and troubles...he refused. Then threatened to add on an extra 20% to the cost because I didn't pay within 30 days of the initial install...even though the job wasn't complete and had failed a 4th inspection!!! BEWARE: THEIR CONTRACT STATES THEY ARE TO BE PAID WHEN INSTALL IS DONE, NOT WHEN IT PASSRS INSPECTION. I have pics and all text and email communication between me, the owner, and David-the guy who came in to do the initial install, as well as emails from the township if you'd like proof of what's behind this review. Very dissatisfied with the service (or lack thereof) we received! Nick from John's AC & Heat talked on the phone for the entire visit and didn't seem to be interested in providing good, personal customer service! He was in the house for not more than 10 minutes (did I say he was on the phone the entire time?) and barely checked the AC unit. He then said that they do not carry York products, but he would double-check and call back, which he never did. He charged the $50 consultation fee and told us to shut the system down due a leak in the central panel (this, of course, we already knew, which is why we called them in the first place!). He didn't provide any useful feedback. Unfortunately, John's AC & Heat did not live up to customer expectations! read more

Terrible service provider. You better know everything about your heater or air conditioner because these people do not and will not make any recommendations to keep your equipment running properly. They installed my heater improperly because their techs were not trained in high efficiency heaters. the unit failed a year and a half ago and I paid for new parts. the same parts failed again due to their lack of simple maintenance and now I'm on the hook again for very expensive parts. The owner plays the nice guy routine until he is called out to stand behind his service, then he turns into your worst nightmare. I had so much trouble with PSE&G worry free that this time I was going to be more careful about the people that I schedule and have do work on my home. I polled two friends and they said that John's work was great price and neat install. They came out do give me an estimate and it was a great price for a Goodman unit that is made in the USA. It is coming up in the world. I scheduled the install in late May about 2 weeks or more ahead of time to be sure that I could be there. I confirmed June 9, 2016 for an install today June 15, 2016. They said to me that they start around 7:30am so I was up at 6 and sitting and waiting. By 9 am no one was here so I got concerned and I called and I was told by the staff that they had called me and cancelled it because it is off the board. I explained that no such thing happened. She said that she would have to call me back but by 9:20am I did not hear anything so I returned the call thinking they had the wrong number giving them the benefit of the doubt. The same woman answered "didn't anyone cal you back?" Of course not that is why I am calling. She had a manager call me and the manager said that the owner pulled my paperwork and did not note why but as a result there was no one scheduled to come out and that he could not reach the owner because the owner's mother is in surgery after a broken hip. He also told me that things like this never happen and that there are a lot of new women in the office suggesting that it might be one of them. So this far it was either cancelled and I was told or it was cancelled and there is no reason that anyone yet can ascertain. At any rate it is 2:15 pm the day that the system was to be installed and I still have no answers. I will follow up though and let you know. Until now I thought that all the bad reviews were plants...not so sure now. Be careful, I will let you know how it comes out. read more
