Their signature bagels without holes are delicious! My personal favorites are the gourmet spinach and blueberry bagels. They are flavorful and doughy. Honestly, they are some of the best bagels I've ever had. Now what can make these bagels better? The answer is to make bagel sandwiches! I've tried the North of the Border and the New Yorker. I really like lox so the New Yorker is something I always get when I'm there! The sandwiches are delicious and filling. I've never had a negative experience. Even if I order it to-go, they pack it really neatly and when I get home, the bagel sandwich is still intact and looking delicious. Service here is also great. This place is literally amazing. You can't go wrong but I always come for a breakfast bagel sandwich. The bagels are so hearty. Johns Bagels definitely is a must and has a variety of different bagels to try. They offer a variety of flavors and tend to always share on there social media @johnsbagelsdeli on what they have fresh. I do recommend though, if you're not a big fan of cream cheese to let them know, since they are very generous on adding cream cheese to your bagel. This place has been my go to spot when craving a bagel, especially with the affordable costs and the interior had just finished a remodel inside with nice new tiles. For bulk quantities I will stick to somewhere with decent pricing, this place is good if you are alone and want a treat. Born and raised in Simi Valley I have been a patron of John's Bagel Deli since I was a child both of my parents live around the block in separate homes. This morning I I'm left in dismay by the way I was treated by the woman who runs and maybe owns the place. She appears to be in her early 50s of asian decent. I always thought she was the owner so I never expected what happened today. I asked questions because I'm vegetarian about ordering a veggie breakfast bagel when I found out it had butter I asked how much extra for cream cheese they said 1.50. I looked up at the menu to see the original cost of The Breakfast Bagel as $7 and so to customize it and keep it veggie with cream cheese would have been $8.50=@$10 breakfast. I was not ready to spend $10. Next I asked how much is a bagel with cream cheese she started acting very upset angry and feisty & basically started yelling Do you want it toasted! What kind of bagel it depends? She then stepped away and rudely said we help u when u are ready. I AM READY I want to know cost w cream cheese added??? I was standing there confused as to how she was so rude & feisty. I then told her I'm still needing help and you're not telling me how much it is just for cream cheese?? I do not want to take a whole small side of cream cheese. She began yelling and telling me to leave & go back where I came from next door.... I have no idea what she was talking about because I live nearby and I was not patronizing any of the businesses next door. I told her my family has eaten here for many years. I don't understand why she will not help me. What is the reason she said leave I do not help you in a hurry. I have no idea how this could have escalated to her rudeness. She pointed up at the menu I explained to her that I'm still confused because her cream cheese is listed as small medium and large sides. She was screaming and kicking me out. Refused my business closed her doors stomped next door to the neighbor which might be a hair salon went in there and said something to them came back and started screaming for me to call the police. I said why would I call the police if you won't help me I wanted breakfast I don't want to spend $10 this morning and all I wanted was a bagel and cream cheese I was so upset I told her again that my family is all come here for many years. Hoping she'd calm down and let me buy a bagel. I don't appreciate her verbal aggressive treatment and refusal of my service I'm quite offended and left dismayed. I saw her tell the sweet woman who initially helped me when I was trying to choose my breakfast bagel she yelled at her and said go back there we have lots of orders were very busy so there was an Abrupt shift in service and I had no problem with that until I realize she was being so aggressive with me and I looked around in the Bagel Deli did not have one one customer. She proceeded to refuse my business kick me out close the doors and scream at me I was trying to ask her why she wouldn't help me she blamed it on me not having time and only having 10 minutes.. assumptive/ aggressive I guess if I wasn't fit to spend $10 for my breakfast bagel this morning she wanted nothing to do with a $2 sale that involved any questions because of my dietary restrictions and needs. There's no other explanation other than her not wanting to answer my simple question of how much is just a bagel with cream cheese why was she yelling whether it was toasted or not or what bagel I choose they're all the same size Bagel I just wanted some cream cheese spread on it which is a NORMAL SIMPLE REQUEST. Not only do I feel like I was verbally attacked by her but I was pissed off. I even asked her multiple times why are you refusing my business you said you were so busy it's been 10 minutes I haven't seen one car pull up no one has been in your business I was waiting for an Uber to get to work and planned time to sto get a bagel for breakfast. Way to start my day getting attacked and being left with no food just because I questioned the charge amt for cream cheese so ridiculous. If you want to pay $8 to $11 for a breakfast bagel or only $2 that shouldn't matter there's no excuse for her treatment. Just before I walked out I told the sweet woman who initially had helped me before the lady as soon as the owner was yelling at her to get to the back abruptly in the middle of her servicing me oh, I said I hope she doesn't treat you poorly thank you for being sweet to me this morning I don't understand what happened and why she's refusing my business. Sometimes you have to step up for people. I assume the lady gets treated poorly by this raging rude lady. I am so Upset that I was treated this way after being a patron for over 2 decades. read more

This is my favorite place in Simi Valley. When I have a hard time eating I can always eat one of their bagels no matter how little an appetite I have. I don't live in Simi but I drive into Simi just to get a simple bagel from this place. The two women who work here probably recognize me by now and are the sweetest. Not to mention how affordable it is to eat here. The girl working literally complimented my hair as I typed this. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. Discovered it a few years ago and go quite regularly. They have the MOST INCREDIBLE bagels. The best I've ever had in the entire freaking world. Sure, there are no holes in the bagels but who in the world needs those holes anyway? They cause a mess. But these lovely bagels are so big, so soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside (get 'em toasted!). It's pretty much always the same people working the place and they're so friendly! Had high hopes for this place, was reviewing the menu and was next to order. Then, the cashier went outside to feed someone's dog and had it licking her hands. Why is this place closed on Sunday?! Anyway, the "bagels" are delicious but as many other users have mentioned, they are more like dinner rolls. No hole, and don't seem to be boiled. Having that said, they are still very tasty dinner rolls. This place sells plain cream cheese with lox in it and whipped strawberry cream cheese which is delicious.
