Decided to take a gaze and check out Theory as previously I had known that this is a higher end store and the wife of my best friend would always stop in and usually come out with something. At any rate I entered the Lion's Den of customers looking for 4th of July bargains and behold they had solid soft knit Polo shirts selling for $59 from $125 and they had my size and color that I liked. My son also purchased a similar one but since they did not have his size they found it at another store and it would be shipped to his address. Cashier with the stylish mini handlebar mustache provided great service and quickly handled each customer at checkout. So in theory- Theory will now be my place to stop in moving forward to look for great bargains such as what I got today. read more

I like the clothes but there is like less than 10 ppl in the store (half of it being staff) yet they intentionally try to build a line by not letting people in while they fold clothes. It's really annoying - management please address this! Not appropriate to keep ppl waiting for sake of waiting. Not efficient and upsetting. People in line are leaving too because of the frustration. It's the opposite of customer service, the staff is doing things that's convenient and easiest for them instead of for the customers. Change the policy of not letting people in, at least allow 25 ppl or something... it looks bad when your store is empty and you are forcing ppl to wait outside! read more

The store is very organized and clean. All items in the store have outstanding quality, and the price is much better than at the retail locations. The Salespersons in Theory Outlet are very attractive and helpful. I love to check out this store at San Francisco Premium Outlet Shopping Center every time I'm here. read more

On morning of 11/14/2022, I was at the store at 10:50 am trying to return a pair of pants. I was told by their staff names Jezs that the register system was down and would not be up until later perhaps 11:30. I said that's fine. Can I still come in because it's cold.I was of course declined, but I did not know why letting the customer in and browse in the store had anything to do with the computer system. So I left to downtown Livermore and came back at 12:20pm. Before coming back to the store, I was calling to see if the system was up and sure enough nobody picked up the phone so I had to chance it. Took another 45 minutes to figure out that Jezs couldn't complete the return process for some odd reasons and I said, since I spent so much time waiting why not call the customer service and send me a return label. He was then very arrogant in front of two other customers, and said he wouldn't. That attitude was cold, and rude. And he wouldn't do anything to call unless another person came in to the shift. To me, he just didn't want to make any efforts simply because he didn't give a flying you know what ‍ I later was able to generate a return label from the site myself. Long story short , I didn't feel any effort from the staff, trying to help a customer and certainly didn't feel welcomed during my visit today. I felt they did not care about customer service at all. Another customer couldn't wait in line left because the check out was simply taking way too long. I am a regular customer at the store , this is the first time being so unpleasant. I like the products here but the customer service is definitely not matching up the quality of Theory. Shame. Shame. Shame!!!! read more

Such a beautiful designer! Unfortunately even the clearance section is out of control expensive. I used to shop this maker when I lived in New York, but it seems like prices have skyrocketed since then. My mom bought a simple camisole with no detailing on it here on clearance with the extra discount and it was still over $70. I browsed the racks and quickly determined that nothing in here was worth the prices listed, even with the discounts. If you have the funds, they continue to have really good designs, clean lines, and lots of inventory for you to peruse. I heard a salesperson complain that lots of people had come in to try things in but not many were buying. I was thinking to myself well there's a good reason for that! But the Theory Outlet makes the blow to my wallet a little easier. Everything in the store is beautiful and there is a pretty good selection. I walked into the store wearing leggings and flannel and was ignored -- which is really disappointing seeing as you really can't judge anyone. This outlet is better than most outlets in the sense that it sells REAL Theory clothes, without imperfections or blemishes, and at a good discount! They get inventory pretty regularly, so certain sizes may be hard to find. But for the most part, this is the same stuff you would be finding at Neiman Marcus. I've gotten some really good dresses for really good prices (e.g. originally $295, discounted to $60). They also have a great selection of suiting (jackets and slacks). If I lived closer, I would stop by more regularly, but I'm not sure my wallet could handle that honestly. Service is friendly. There aren't a ton of dressing rooms though, so a line can back up. I also like how they will wrap your purchases up in tissue paper and provide resuable bags for you to lug your items home. read more

I purchased a Christmas gift online for my wife which arrived a size too small. The items were marked Non-Returnable/No Exchanges. I am certain the sizes marked incorrectly as she has always worn small sizes. I tried to deal with Theory online, via Phone, and in the Outlet store with no success. It is now after Christmas with an outsized gift that cannot be worn. I have tried numerous times to make contact only to learn their service is closed for the holidays. I would recommend you NEVER PURCHASE online from Theory Outlet. They are inflexible with their policies and have absolutely no service, other than to answer the phone once in a while. read more

Part of me does not want to write this review for fear of more people finding out about this place. I am theory-obsessed and buy most of (basically all of) my work clothes from here and even some of my more casual clothes. I always receive compliments on my dresses and outfits at work!! The quality, fit, and designs are amazing and the prices here are much better than theory sales at the department store. My sister, boyfriend, and I went here over July 4th weekend so there was an extra 25% off of everything! Awesome! We were sad that we couldn't use the 10% (or 15%) from the VIP coupon book in combination with the extra 25 but it was still a good deal. Most of the clothes are for women but there was a decent selection of male attire. Customer Service: We were on our way back from Yosemite and dressed in athletic wear so one sales lady didn't offer to help us, probably because she didn't think we would buy anything. Omar immediately greeted us and let us know that he could help us with designs, put clothes in a fitting room etc... He was really great and came to check on us and brought us all the sizes we needed. That other sales lady only tried to help us once she saw all the clothes we were picking out ... and then looked pretty sad at the commission she lost when we checked out. I love Theory! The outlet store has the exact same clothes that the retail store in San Francisco. I've even seen the same shirt that I saw at the retail store on sale at the outlet. The staff is always exceptional in service and very helpful. For men, you have to have a thin muscular build as their clothes are mostly slim cut and fit smaller people. I am a 39 short in coats and 28" waist and they always have my size which I really like as most outlet stores carry a 30" waist and don't carry much more than that. Today I went before the Memorial Day holiday started and they had an additional 30% off. I bought a suit 4 shirts 1 slack and paid so little I almost bought more! Very good customer service. As soon as I had an item in my hand they asked if I wanted a dressing room. I purchased a pair of pants from the Theory outlet in Vegas and I definitely outgrew them after the 14 day exchange deadline (note: they were still brand new, never worn, all original tags still attached). I called up both stores and within 10 minutes, both stores' managers had contacted each other and set up my exchange for me. They even went above and beyond by leaving notes for each other on the day I was going to do the exchange so that all the other employees would know what was going on and put the pair I wanted to exchange for on hold. This is the only theory outlet in Northern California. This location has wonderful service and the staff working here are very professional and friendly. I came here over the busy Memorial Day weekend and a staff member named Mady was able to recommend sizes and styles of suits and and other alternatives that matched my style. I dropped by again a few days after the busy weekend with a friend and Mady was able to help me and my friend to find sale items from another store and to help out with styling different outfits.
