Homewise (formerly Airport Appliance) comes through again with exceptional local service!…read more We have bought many appliances from Airport Appliance in the past--which is now Homewise. I was initially a bit worried that the business had been absorbed into a national chain, but it turned out to be just a name change with the same great local ownership. Most recently, our wall oven went dead on the 4th of July. We called Homewise and spoke with Lyla Vo, who was fantastic at advising us on replacement options. While working with her, we also decided to replace our 15-year-old dishwasher to take advantage of a two-item extra rebate! Over the years, we've tried other options in the area, but Homewise strikes the perfect balance: Vs. High-End Local Outfits: Higher-end stores seem bothered if you aren't remodeling an entire kitchen. Even though we'd bought from them before, they lacked interest when we only needed a single replacement item. Vs. Big National DIY Chains: Big-box stores are a headache. Twice, their installers walked out refusing to complete the job due to minor water, power, or circuit compliance issues. While those may have been on our end due to older coding, there was zero flexibility or real-time planning--they are bound strictly by corporate liability rules and won't work with you on the spot. Plus, you're basically dealing with a website, not a human. Why Homewise Wins: Even though we handled everything over the phone with Lyla, the entire experience was seamless. When we had follow-up questions, Lyla even responded from her phone after her shift was over! That kind of personal, above-and-beyond care is rare. On top of that, the installation process was super smooth, and they strictly honored their 4-hour delivery window. Homewise delivers the exact feel of working with a reliable, friendly neighborhood salesperson. Next time an appliance needs replacing, we're heading straight back to them. Please keep supporting local businesses like this one!

I was in the market for a new washer and dryer after my washing machine broke, so I looked around…read moreand compared prices at several different retailers. From the beginning, HomeWise Appliance had the lowest starting price. It was also during their Fourth of July sale, and I received an additional instant discount of $75 per appliance for purchasing both the washer and dryer, saving me another $150 total. There were also two additional manufacturer rebates available that I still need to submit. I have seen some reviews mentioning issues with receiving rebate money, so I cannot comment on that part of the process yet. However, even before factoring in those rebates, the washer and dryer were still the least expensive I found anywhere. With HomeWise's additional Fourth of July discount, the total price became even lower than every other retailer I compared. Even if I ultimately receive only one of the two rebates, this will still have been, by far, the best overall price. The service was also great. Delivery was available the next day, and I had no issues throughout the entire process. I was charged an additional $50 because my home has more than 32 stairs, which I thought was completely reasonable. The prices they offered for the required installation components were also reasonable. However, I already had some of my own new washer and dryer lines, and the installers were happy to use and install them without any problem. Antonio, who helped me at the Redwood City location, was extremely knowledgeable about the washer and dryer--more so than anyone I spoke with at the other stores I visited. I really appreciated his candor and his willingness to discuss the differences among the various options. At no point did I feel pressured to purchase anything, which was both important and refreshing. It genuinely felt like he was there simply to help me make the best decision. Overall, this was a great experience. Based on the pricing, knowledgeable service, next-day delivery, and lack of sales pressure, I would not buy my appliances anywhere else. HomeWise had the lowest starting price, the lowest final price after its own discounts, and the potential for even greater savings once the rebates are processed.

Michael came out that same evening and gave an honest assessment and quoted a very fair price. We thought we would have to throw out all our food as the part wasn't available locally but he managed to track one down working some kind of magic and fix the fridge the next day! Not only that, but he made several other invaluable recommendations for our appliance care around the rest of the house. Above and beyond, honest, and didn't break our bank--I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Michael agreed that he would call. He did. During the visit, with me on speaker, it was agreed that I'd get a call the next day about pricing for the parts. The next day I received Michael's call declining the repair. His reason : Your mother asked me to also repair the ice maker for the same labor fee. My reply : I heard you agree. Why is this an issue today ? The clear agitation in his voice was not warranted. My question went unanswered. This was intentional and very poor communication ! Thanks for the free diagnostic. Now we can spend our money with a company who deserves it. Hopefully AI will make appliances where your expertise is not needed. Thus, interaction with you for people like me will not be an issue.

I would give the sales and shopping experience a 5 star review. The sales team there was simply great. Having the online component with Best Buy is really handy for research and then going into the store to finalize things. Pricing was very competitive and best we could find in the area. The install was mostly good. We had some back n forth with one installer and ultimately all the work got done. Just felt like the first installer was being lazy and didn't want to finish the job properly. Of course they outsource the actual install to a local crew and so proper way to enforce things. All in all great, experience and would definitely use them again.

Pacific sales hard to get to speak to me The Warrenty has Technitran to fix my fridge. Someone was supposed to come last Thursday never showed I thought to wait all day the next day. By the way when I made the appointment I selected the afternoon because I don't sleep well. I spoke to someone named David on Friday afternoon who told me he called Friday morning and I didn't answer the phone so he left a voice message to see if he could have come that morning. I don't fall asleep until 4-5 o'clock and I made Technitran aware when my fridge first broke. There is a lot more that occurred and I was supposed to have someone come here to add stuff to make the fridge cold again. There is so much more to tell. I will never buy from Pacific Sales again. They are a disaster. Don't seem to care about their customers Mary Jean Boutelle

After getting it home, I discovered it was missing major components, including the longer One Connect cable, screws for the TV stand, and even screws associated with the rear housing of the TV. That is not what most reasonable people would consider "Excellent." This wasn't a small missing accessory. The TV was materially incomplete and not as advertised. What made the experience much worse was what happened next. This is a very large TV, well over 75 pounds, and I had already paid for Uber XL transportation to get it home. I contacted Best Buy expecting a practical solution for a problem caused by their own quality control and open-box inspection process. Instead, I was told over and over to bring it back to the store, return it online, or exchange it if inventory allowed. No real ownership, no meaningful escalation, no pickup solution, and no answer on reimbursement for the cost and burden of transporting a 77-inch TV because Best Buy failed to verify what they were selling. The most frustrating part was that their support team acknowledged that returning a TV this size was unreasonable, but still kept repeating the same canned answer. I asked for escalation, asked for management, asked for a real resolution, and ultimately got nowhere. The chat was effectively ended without the issue being solved. When a store sells an open-box item in "Excellent" condition, the customer should be able to trust that it is complete and properly checked. That didn't happen here. This was a failure in QA, a failure in listing accuracy, and a failure in customer service. I'm leaving this review because this situation should have been handled far better, and because I'd still like someone in management to step in and make this right.
