Legit breakfast that is quick and great. This place has on old-times feel to it. From a seating perspective, there is one row of bar seating and a few small tables. The restaurant is small, but that's the charm. The staff were friendly and extremely attentive - likely due to the design of the restaurant. Looking forward to future visits!

A small counter restaurant with an old school vibe. Prices are fair and the food is good. It's a cozy place to eat alone or with someone. Not a big place so I wouldn't come with a group. The food itself is good, nothing more or less. It's not fancy and it tastes like something you could make yourself. However it's still good food at a good price. I can easily recommend this place for breakfast over others in the neighborhood. Definitely worth a morning visit!

Amazing breakfast foods place that gives off New York vibes in the best way possible. It's a really small space, with most seats being diner counter top style facing the grill and the kitchen. The staff are extremely efficient and speedy, while still being very friendly and upfront. The food is nothing fancy but it hits the spot if you're looking for a hearty breakfast meal. I got the Lumberjack breakfast and it's exactly what you'd expect. If the restaurant is full, you'll have to stand outside to wait until a spot opens up.

Food was decent. Really simple stuff for the most part. Honestly I think I just like the dudes who work here more than the food. Cool guys, very friendly. Very limited seating so might take a while to sit.

A great luncheonette in Chelsea, mostly counter service with a few tables in back. Great, friendly service. I ordered the breakfast burrito (with eggs, potatoes, bacon, cheese and tomato, I ordered it without hot sauce). It was delicious for $11.95 plus tip and tax. I regret not getting the pancakes, which I saw walk by me... next time.

Stopped in for a bite. I had been here once before, maybe ten years ago. I was looking around, and noticed others were having breakfast. I was not looking for breakfast at 4 in the afternoon, but ordered coffee and a grilled roast beef sandwich. Very satisfying, and Johny was manning the grille.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. I ordered an Emma with a side of sausages. Super Yummy. Poached eggs on Spinach and Peppers. Ambiance great - old fashioned sitting on the bar. Love to go again.

Sausage (x2) Egg (x2) & Cheese on Roll - Most bites were just bread. Wtf?

EDIT: Changed review from 2 to 1 star. Service score downgraded from 6 to 1. Overall score from 4 to 1. Owner's first response to my review clearly shows a lack of humility or sense of responsibility. Just own it. Why the sarcasm? You made those breakfast plates. Pictures were taken at your restaurant. Maybe it was a bad day, I can accept that. But how you responded shows that you do not respect what your customers think. Your Yelp business description mentions that you pride yourself on customer satisfaction. Well, customer service does not end with the meal. This customer was not satisfied. Please think about that. I know your restaurant is popular and don't care about a single poor review. Regardless, I gave your place two opportunities to impress me and it didn't. Therefore, it's my right to share what I experienced with others. Cuisine: 3 Service: 1 Decor: 6 Value: 4 Overall: 1 I am unsure what I'm missing, or maybe this place changed over the years, but it's not very good. All the positive reviews I see are so confusing because my two experiences here have been subpar. On my most recent visit, two of us shared a Sausage Egg & Cheese (double egg, sausage links, and cheese) and a Mushroom Omelette. Well, if a picture says a thousand words, then just look at my pictures. That sad excuse for a Sausage Egg & Cheese may have been served on the softest roll I ever had, but where's the filling? Are they using the smallest sausage links and eggs they can find? I certainly think yes. Now look at that Mushroom Omelette (3 eggs). Clearly they didn't take the care to beat the eggs properly, hence you can see the uneven color of the omelette. Once again, what size eggs are they using? Must by extra small. Anyway, bland and flavorless. You can also see that the home fries that came with the plate had no crispiness at all. After a mediocre first visit, followed by this super underwhelming second visit two years later, I will not be back again. Whatever people love about this place is unlikely the prices either since they are not exactly cheap, especially when portions are so small. Oh well, it may be just me. But then again, look at the pictures and you decide.

We went to New York City for a 1 week vacation and came across this cozy little place near the hotel we stayed at during spring break this year. The staffs were friendly and they will cook after you placed your order. It's a sit-in dine in style so it was really cool to have brief conversations with the staffs and watch they make your order. It's a small place so if it's full inside, you have to wait outside. You can place to-go orders for breakfast and lunch meal. We ordered the veggie omelet, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and came with toasts. The food was delicious and fresh! Would definitely come back the next time we're in NY. :)

Big Man's breakfast I forgot to take a picture of my pancakes;) delicious

Good food, good service. We arrived last week and I have been waiting to come to Johny's and finally made it on our last day. Food did not disappoint. I love these type of places where you feel welcomed, everyone says hi and enjoying a great place! The place has some bar seating and a table in back perfect setting.

Still our spot when we come to NYC ! Good food, good service and never disappoints...

    Chocolate Chip Pancakes

The chocolate chip pancakes were phenomenal - no wonder there's a line out the door. I highly recommend checking this place out if you want a classic breakfast diner. Johny and team were also amazing!

There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.

The menu inside breaks down all of the sandwhiches, you roll up to the deli counter when they say next, spill out your order (add/remove stuff to your order) and you're done. Be PREPARED this Sammie has some chili honey liquid /oil sauce they put on it and it's tasty but it's a lot. The staff are friendly - just focused on getting your order and getting it to you so you can enjoy. The wall is pretty interested they have made their own decor out of door panel fixtures.

The soup dumplings were actually quite large, but the spring rolls are pretty small. Came out to over 20 bucks, which is reasonable but more than it was. A stirfry noodle dish is like $25 now! It's a pretty solid lunch spot for during work and this just happened to be a few blocks from my office. I thought this spot would look like a hole-in-the-wall spot, but the space is actually decent with a full dining area. They do have a lunch menu, which is in the last page of the menu. Why they hid it all the way in the back, I have my assumptions and suspicions. I had to get an order of soup dumplings here so I got the Crab Soup Dumplings ($15). The skin is a bit thicker than other spots, but that means the skin ain't going to break on you easily. And do be careful how you bite into it, as the first one I bit into, the soup splattered all over my shirt and pants. Overall tasted great. Soup dumplings was not going to fill me up along, so I got something off of their lunch menu and settled upon Orange Chicken w Brown Rice ($18.50). Chicken was white meat, which is battered and deep fried. It says it was spicy, but it really wasn't. Comes with a vegetable spring roll and a choice of rice, which makes this a pretty decent lunch deal for $20. Menu prices are cash prices. If you pay with a credit card, they will slap a 2% processing fee. Overall, service was pretty decent as well. Would come back again for lunch.
