    Bolognese with an extra meatball
    Todd G.

My wife and I were celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary and we've ventured out of our comfort zone and headed down to chagrin falls. We've heard a lot about JoJo's and wanted to try it. We made an appointment for 7:45 but arrived there about 6:00 just in case we could get in and the maitre d was so nice she sat us right away. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine given his age he seemed pretty young but he certainly knew his stuff. While you can dress up for this place they were folks there that were certainly dressed down as if they just came from the golf course which is fine but it is chagrin falls and folks are dressed appropriately. This used to be the Old gamekeepers tavern but I've never visited prior to now. I got the bucatini Bolognese my wife got a shrimp pasta and we did split a Caesar salad along with a bottle of wine. I added the meatball I probably shouldn't have because I ended up taking some home that was a lot of food. My wife adored her pasta and as it was our anniversary our server was very nice and brought us up a complimentary dessert. The restaurant is trendy well kept clean and affordable. I would not recommend bringing small children here or toddlers. To do a patio outside and I'm not sure if they share it with another restaurant but we have came back once since our first visit. This time I did get the Great American cheeseburger which was fan flippin-tastic. Overall 10 out of 10 would repeat and will do so.

We visited Jojo's bar for Father's Day dinner. We sat at the bar but they have plenty of seating and the decor/ambiance was very chill. We ordered wagyu, tiger prawns, delmonico and pasta. Everything tasted great. The prawns are actually sourced from Africa and were HUGE!! Definitely the largest prawns I have ever had.

My friend and I came here on a Sunday night for dinner. There is no designated lot so be prepared to look for a spot on the nearby streets. The ambiance is cozy and beautiful! We were seated in the back right by the fireplace. The server was attentive and brought us a delicious basket of all kinds of specialty breads and butter. We both ordered the pasta with pine nuts and cream sauce. It was delicious. We ordered desserts as well. I had the carrot cake, which was HUGE and very rich. Prices are on point for other nice restaurants in the area. The menu had lots of good choices. This was a nice variation from the other local dining establishments.

I LOVE Jojo's. It's my favorite restaurant in all of Cleveland. The food is always served to perfection, the waiters are so kind and thoughtful, and the vibes are immaculate. It's honestly a no brained Taylor Swift are here when she visited. I always feel like I'm treated like family, and nothing I've ever eaten has been bad. We even showed up an hour early for our reservation and they still sat us. Truly, a remarkable experience and dining location in the heart of chagrin falls. Parking is limited, but there's valet and its chagrin falls. If you head down a few streets you'll get a nice walk past the falls, so really there's no losing.

We went to JoJo's Bar for our anniversary lunch after a day out kayaking. My partner surprised me and requested to have us sit where Taylor and Travis sat. The team at JoJo's made it happen and we were so impressed! Service was stellar and everyone was so kind. The food was also so good. I had wedding soup and a spicy vodka pasta. Both were incredible! My partner had the clam chowder (I think - it was something seafood) and that was the winner in terms of soup. The meat ball that sat on top of my pasta was $12 for just the meatball which was a bit of a shock, but it was for sure worth the $12. We went during lunch time so we did not try the cocktails there, but they looked fabulous. It was a quiet and subtle ambiance that allowed for us to have a great time together!

I'm going to give Jojo's 4 starts still because they truly have amazing food. But for this takeout order I specifically requested a WELL DONE filet and when I get home and cut into it I get the complete opposite. That was disappointing. Other than that, the food was amazing per usual. Both of the potato dishes are honestly the best things they have at their restaurant.

Had Sunday brunch at Jo Jo's at 12:30, and had a nice experience. We had a reservation, but we probably didn't need one. Several couples walked in. Our server, Chara, was wonderful. She gave us menus, and time to look at them and visit with friends. The menu had several eggs dishes, shrimp, sandwiches and other items. We all chose the soup and half sandwich. We all enjoyed them. The Wedding soup and clam chowder were hardy in large bowls. The half sandwiches were on thick grain toast and tasted great. Charla was spot on taking care of us. For dessert we all chose coffee with Amaretto. A perfect ending.

My family plus grandparents came to JoJo's bar the day after Christmas. The service was excellent as was the ambiance. We had a beautiful booth upstairs. We enjoyed the bread service and cocktails. Some in our party would have preferred some Italian bread rather than raisin bread. We had a couple of salmon dishes, Caesar salad, seasonal vegetables, two spaghetti and meatball and one spicy rigatoni with a meatball. Everyone loved their food!

The food was overall, very bland. It was expertly prepared, fresh, and beautiful. But the taste was quite boring. Be prepared to eat a second dinner when you get home. Also be prepared to sit at the bar- this place is very tiny. The vibe is nice. Low ceiling, dimly lit, comfortable cozy. The server/ bartender (I'm pretty sure she was running the whole place) Nikki, was phenomenal. So friendly, good drinks. We started with the oysters which were good. The mignonette sauce was a little different, it had lemon zest in it. It was very good! But the give you laughable amount. Like, a splash. Then we had the fig and prosciutto toast. This was the highlight for us. Tasty all the way around, 4 generous servings on the plate. Jam was so good and the prosciutto was warmed up ever so slightly. I had the hangar steak with some unseasoned boiled carrots. The steak was tender and high quality, but I couldn't taste a bit of seasoning. Also served with a tiny crispy potato pancake. Husband had the halibut special. This had some wasabi crust and if you got a bite of the wasabi it was good. The bites that weren't crusted were boring fish. Again, very fresh and prepared well. Black rice and asparagus also boring. I got a hint of lemon on one bite I tried. We also had the Brussels sprouts, which were charred along with the few pork belly pieces. Husband finished with a whiskey crème brûlée which he enjoyed. He did not, however, enjoy his Dark and Stormy. He said it was all booze and no beer or mix. Sadly, we won't be back.

We visited 17 River Grille for my mom's birthday (her suggestion, as she had previously been there…read morefor lunch), and it turned out to be an excellent choice. We had an amazing experience. Per our request, our party of six was seated on the outdoor patio overlooking the Chagrin River waterfall, which made for a beautiful setting. One thing to note: you cannot reserve patio seating in advance, but you can request it upon arrival if space is available. We started with four appetizers: *Heavenly Biscuits - AMAZING. *Short Rib Potstickers - Excellent. *Spinach Artichoke Dip - Excellent. *Grilled Artichoke - Good, but not really my style of dish. For entrées, we tried several different items: *Grilled Fish of the Day (Grouper) - Excellent, although the portion was on the smaller side. *Lake Erie Walleye Fish & Chips - Very good. *Thai Steak Noodle Salad - Excellent. *Steak and Frites - Excellent. We also ordered two sides: *Coleslaw - Very good. Is it the best coleslaw I've ever had? No. Is it excellent and worth ordering? Absolutely. *Roasted Baby Yukons - Excellent. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the restaurant graciously provided a complimentary dessert sundae. While the gesture was appreciated, I do wish guests were given a choice of dessert. The sundae was fine, but with several outstanding ice cream shops nearby, the ice cream itself was fairly average. Service was quick and efficient overall. There were a few minor areas for improvement: Wet naps would have been appreciated, as we had to request extra napkins multiple times throughout the meal. Service slowed down a bit during the dinner rush. The steak entrée arrived noticeably later than the rest of the main courses, which may have been due to the kitchen being overwhelmed. It also took a little longer than expected to receive extra plates when requested. These were relatively minor issues, however, and did not significantly detract from the evening. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience with great food, a beautiful patio overlooking the waterfall, and solid service. We would gladly return and would certainly recommend it for special occasions or a nice evening out.

Tonight my wife and I decided to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary at 17 River grill. Now I've…read morebeen there before no stranger to it but I felt there was some issues that needed to be addressed. Our reservation was for 7:30 we arrived about an hour early just because I really like being prompt. At first glance when you walk into place I reviewed the dress code. Apparently I'm the only one that reviewed the dress code. Baseball hats, t-shirts hoodies not the collared shirt casual business attire that was required on the website. We checked in for our appointment our only prerequisite is we really wanted to have something with the view for our anniversary. We waited in the bar and ordered some drinks while I pass the time with my lovely wife. There is a fruit fly issue that needs addressed. I could not help but notice for all the employees standing around they're certainly were a lot of tables that went un bussed. As you had people that wanted to be seated one could logically deduced that bussing the table with one way to do it. After a while I went back up to the server station to check on our status all three people at the service station were entrenched into their phones. Tick tock, Instagram doing anything but bussing tables and tending to the customers. I interrupted the ladies whom were supposed to be working to have them check on a table for me. Nothing was available yet but the table had to be cleaned off. Ironic because they could have put their damn phones down and cleaned the table. One of the biggest time wasters with employees and restaurants is that phone. There's a restaurant in Cleveland called Town Hall that once reported to work your phone gets locked up therefore you get locked in to your job. This place would benefit greatly by making their employees lock their phones up. We ended up getting a table on the patio downstairs and my wife nearly bit it on the dirty and greasy carpeting as we walked downstairs. It was gross and indefinite need of being cleaned. Overall everything seemed sticky and dirty windows made it feel unclean. We were seated at our table for about 12 minutes until we were approached by our server she was very nice but clearly she seemed a tad overworked I'm not sure how many other tables she had. I counted no more than four different servers and two busboys walking by this table that had a bunch of dirty glasses on it and nobody bothered to pick it up. My steak frites were the highlight of the evening my wife had the filet which was also amazing for her. We had finished our mail and our conversation and we're ready to go but unfortunately our server was MIA. I could see her through the windows she wasn't wasting time she was actually working she appeared to be one of the only ones working. She must have received my message and came out to bring us a box and the bill. I went into the into the restroom on my way out of the door and in the men's stall I couldn't help but notice the lock had been busted and you couldn't lock the door. Which was super awkward as I was using the restroom there was a fellow who opened the door and got an eyeful. Nice evening cap. As we traversed the slippery greasy steps to head back up and back out I couldn't help but think how far this place must have fallen. I was unable to spy any management as I kind of felt feedback was necessary at this point. I chuckled to myself as I passed the hostess station in the same hostess that seated us, that I had to have her get off her phone to seat us was still on her phone. Must have been a really good video. So to whomever the owner or manager of this establishment is do yourself a favor: eliminate phones. That's the only way to save this place. There's no excuse to leave glassware and dishes piling up on tables that could be used to seat folks that want to have an enjoyable dining experience. * Clean your establishment. * Eliminate phone usage. The lack of productivity did not go unnoticed. I was not the only customer whom noticed. * Repair broken restroom locks in the downstairs men's toilet * Address the fruit fly issue in the bar * Degrease the steps and carpeting before someone is injured * Make an attempt to enforce the dress code so you don't look like a chili's * MODs need to be visible. Management by presence is an effective way to enforce duties. It's a shame that a place with such a fantastic view is not a place I would go back to.
