Rude, overrated and overpriced. We visited today and several times in the past but after paying $35 for 2 sandwiches, chips and 2 small lemonades -- and receiving ultra rude service on top of that from the countrer dude - we're not likely to come back. The Budda Budget was dry and under-seasoned, and overpowered by a HUGE bun. And the curried chicken salad wrap could have used more flavor. When we asked the price of the large lemonade, the counter dude grunted like it was some huge inconvenience to ask. And when our friend ordered, she asked if any lettuce came on her order (because she can't eat it due to a medical condition), he responded: "I don't know." Really??? Joni's has been around for 20 years and I've been going ever since it opened. I've never left unsatisfied, everyone there is always so sweet to me and my family. I don't even want to give this place one star. I've been coming to Montauk my entire life and this place is just another tourist trap for wanna be hipsters that come from the city and crowd Montauk. This is my second experience at Joni's the first one wasn't so bad so I decided to go back. Well I ordered two bacon sausage egg and cheese wraps and an iced coffee and they charged me $32. I am used to Montauk being expensive but that is just disgusting. I then waited almost an hour to get these two lousy wraps and the girl behind the counter almost gave my order away to another person with my name, thank god I was standing right there. I got my order home and it was wrong and there was about enough ingredients in the wrap for a $4 breakfast. I will never, ever eat here again. Stay far away unless you like starting your mornings with aggravation and being ripped off. read more

Food was good, service took forever and my boyfriend found a small, warped piece of metal that looked like someone's discarded nose ring in his smoothie. Food was fine. Experienced not so friendly interaction with staff. I had placed a coffee order online (not knowing that they dont complete JUST coffee orders as they get cold as it waits for pick up, they could update their website). I went to pick up window and was simply going to ask if they had recieved my online order. Mind you, I get the whole COVID rules and face mask requirements. I pulled my mask partly down so she could acknowledge/hear me,the young lady (looked as if she was a freshman in HS) snapped back, "where is your mask? How about we start there 1st. How about that?". I was initially shocked. She could have simply said,"Sir. Can you do me a favor and place your mask on". I would have happily complied. Takes a second to be courteous. Didnt recieve that. Let me also say, however, it wasn't empty, they were fairly busy. She, the employee, was busy. It doesn't help that there isnt rhyme or reason as to HOW they screen customers with online orders vs walk ups, the 1st come/1st serve they do just creates a bit of chaos. Anyway. I was really excited when I found Joni's. I loved the menu online. The decor and ambiance is adorable. I took my kids there for lunch today. There were a few people online and we read the daily menu and explored the baked goods while waiting. We ordered two smoothies, an açaí bowl, a kids quesadilla and a grilled chicken peace wrap. The bill was $49. We received a buzzer and We waited patiently as the line grew. I saw many customers coming in and out checking on there orders. I saw many people grab a smoothie and walk out. There seemed to me no order to the line and the order in which food was put into the completed. Several people in front of me complained of wait times and wrong orders. After 39 minutes with three hi hey little ones I decided to check on my order. The gentleman handing out the orders didn't understand English well. I asked him to check our order and he shook his head. I then again showed him our buzzer and said can you please check this order and he said sit down and i will call u. I waited 5 mins and went to the register and asked the woman to check my order whom had originally took it. She could not find it. She started making the smoothies and left the registered with a line. After getting our smoothies she said the rest would be out shortly. And within the next 10 mins we received the rest of the order. It was apparent something had gone awry and had i not asked i don't think we would have even received our order. The smoothies were good. The chicken wrap was tasty but had hard chewy chicken. I get it when. Ur on vacation it's busy and expensive. But attitude and service have to be on part of a review. I would love to have had a different experience but it was and not a good one and the food wasn't great. read more

Yum!!! The food here is amazing! The wait to order was long and the wait for the food to come out was even longer. It was definitely worth it but don't stop here for a quick bite cause you may be waiting over an hour. They really should figure out a better system cause it gets so crowded inside waiting for the food. They just yell names and every hungry person comes running hoping it was their name. Great, great breakfasts and lunches! The Smokin Jack's are unreal, I've probably had 100's of them over the years and every one of them were excellent. I'll give you some advice...call your order in and pick it up. The place gets jammed in the summer and this will help you eliminate the wait. If I could give no stars I would. Good wasn't too bad but we just got chia pudding, granola, fruit, coffee and a smoothie. All of which came to $40. Now the smoothie was awful. I went back in and told the guy behind the counter very politely that I couldn't drink it. I wasn't even expecting an exchange but first he made out like he couldn't understand what I was saying. I had to say it again and even then he made out like he couldn't hear me. Then said yeh I don't like that smoothie either and shrugged. Baring in mind he had been so unfriendly since we walked in. Shoved some coffee cups at my boyfriend who looked bewildered. The said yeh just take it from there and pointed to some coffee canteens. Then when he gave us the food told us nothing. We stood there looking around for utensils and finally saw them over near the door. I mean for the first morning of our getaway this sucks. Don't come here. Horrible experience. Our lattes were luke warm and the acai bowl was really bad and while ordering everyone kept returning their acai bowls since they were too liquid and not tasty as they. Also, we were charged two times for same item and would not have realized if we had not asked for the receipt. On top of that, it is too expensive compared to nearby places. read more

Joni's was one of my favorite places to grab breakfast and lunch for years until recently. My boyfriend's sandwich was missing 3 of the ingredients listed, my salad came with no dressing, and my smoothie which was supposed to have no maple syrup as I am a type 1 diabetic most definitely had the added maple sugar. Food is good, nothing I would call special. The main reason I wouldn't go back is the wait time. We came here twice in the span of a few days, and both times the we waited quite a while. The frustrating part the second time was that Joni was there and had a big group of her friends & family cut the line and put in a sizable order that probably cost us another 10 minutes of an already 30 minute wait for our food. I think what made it particularly unbearable is that the food was nothing that I needed to wait 30 minutes for and the restaurant was like an oven that day, so I'm sitting there waiting and waiting and waiting, baking and waiting for my food. At least three other sets of customers around me were also extremely frustrated with the wait time and the situation (it wasn't just me being impatient or petty!!). They do get the smoothies out fairly quickly, and one woman who had waited 20+ minutes for her food AFTER her smoothies were given to her asked them to remake the smoothies because they had become melted, soupy and separated... If you go, just be prepared to wait a long time for good, not great, food... read more

Best organic and healthy food in all of Montauk by far. Food is fresh and delicious...have had breakfast and lunch there and it has been consistent and amazing. I've never written a Yelp review before but had to weigh in here. Joni's was a miserable experience from start to finish. I waited nearly an hour (on a Thursday) for a Thai Me Up wrap, and though the name of this rice paper wrap is stolen from Angelica in the east village, NYC, beware- don't expect so much as a tiny fraction of their quality. There were CANNED MUSHROOMS in this vile concoction, nearly black and likely botulized. (When not 20 ft away you will find Open Minded Organics at the farmers market, who sell incredible fresh mushrooms.) After picking the nasty funghi out, I tried to eat the $11 wrap, but it was miserable. From what I did eat, I became violently ill soon after. NEVER AGAIN! read more

FRESH AND DELICIOUS! Was looking for a quick place to grab a bite before heading over to the Sloppy Tuna for drinks. Luckily we stumbled upon Joni's. My friend and I both got the "Gone fishin" wrap and it was the perfect choice. The fish was so fresh and the side of non-dairy chipotle sauce was absolutely delicious. The wrap was so good that 3 separate patrons in line came over to us, asked what we ordered, and ended up ordering the same thing. Next time in MTK I will definitely be back! read more

I was excited about trying Joni's because of the natural, organic, and fresh/local food selection I saw on the menu online. I also assumed, because of this, that it would be easy to order something that accommodated my allergies (gluten, soy, peanuts). I could not have been more wrong. First off, it is a nightmare to order anything. The place is so over-crowded and I felt extremely rushed once I finally got to the counter to place my order. Second, and most infuriating, was the extremely rude service I received. My allergies are obviously a big concern for me when eating out. I informed the guy taking my order of what my allergies were and asked if they would be able to accommodate, if he could make any suggestions, and asked about certain menu items. I got repeated shrugs, eye-rolling, and loud sighs as they had no clue what sort of ingredients their menu items contained, and I was apparently inconveniencing them by asking them to check if a certain dressing contained soybean oil, one of my allergens. I was so put-off by the rudeness and incompetence that I was ready to walk out without my food. I was informed by the rude counter girl that the dressing was safe for me, only to find out once I received my food that it actually DID contain soy, and was not safe for me to eat. Once I finally got everything sorted and received something I COULD eat, I sat down to a tiny, over-priced wrap that I had to wait almost a half hour to receive. Total rip-off, and extremely, EXTREMELY irritating. I work in the food service industry and would NEVER treat a customer the way that they treated me, and all I did was ask for some help and menu guidance concerning my allergens. Joni's will never receive business from me in the future, and I will happily ensure none of my family members spend their money at this restaurant either. read more
