I can tell that this is gonna be the new spot to be at this summer. Love that you can sample the Italian ice flavors before you commit and you can also get more than 1 ice flavor for all of the sizes! Sizes go from S, M/Regular, L. Prices were very reasonable as well. Plenty of seating inside and outside. The Italian ice paired with the vanilla soft serve was delicious. Service was great too. And the best part, bring your pups, they eat for free :) Beware of parking tho, they share a lot with the falafel spot next to them. Only one way in and out which can also be difficult when there's a long line of people cutting through the lot. We parked in a different plaza and walked over.
This place has really good Italian ice! I also enjoyed the soft serve, very creamy vanilla ice cream! They offer non dairy soft serve flavors now. My favorite ice flavor is lemon although I don't like accidentally chewing bitter seeds. Rootbeer gelati is a nice combination too, kinda like a rootbeer float. However the rootbeer we got one time was very melted and mushy. It's hot outside but it came mushy already. What I like most about it is the price is very affordable (prices increased a little bit since I last came). You order at the booth outside and get your ice cream though there is a bit of a wait because there's 2-3 windows at a time. They changed their process a bit and had us wait at the side while they took the next customer's order. They have a lot of seating inside and there's a lot shared by falafel stop and this Italian ice. I think it's the same owner. The is very chaotic and they changed the direction of the line recently, it used to go towards the sidewalk by the street side of the building and now it goes inwards. The only downside is that I came back on a very hot day and I have to smell the stench of their garbage bins... so unappetizing. The layout is really weird too because if the line gets too long it blocked one way to get into more parking spaces.
This spot is right next to Falafel Stop, so parking can be tricky during peak hours and weekends. I couldn't find a spot when I arrived around 3:25 pm on a Sunday, and it was hard to navigate through the lot since people made their own spots. The line moved fast, but it was in the sun, so I suggest bringing a sun hat. They have two tables outside, plus some inside tables and patio spots. Since it's an open building, there's no AC, but if you sit near a window, you'll get a breeze. They played fun music, but it wasn't too loud, which I liked. The young girl who helped us was nice, but her male coworker who handed Jelati to a group behind us had a bit of an attitude. All the Italian Ice flavors are vegan, and they also have a rotating selection of dairy-free soft serve. So, we can either enjoy a Jelati or just stick with ice. I decided to make my own Jelati with Dairy Free Mango soft serve and Passionfruit and Pina Colada Italian ice. The mango soft-serve was my favorite part of the Jelati. It's creamy and the mango flavor really comes through. The Passionfruit was good, but it was more sweet than tangy, which I wasn't expecting. The Pina Colada didn't taste enough like coconut or pineapple to me; it just tasted like sugar. I probably should've gotten a small instead of a medium. I ate all the mango soft-serve on top and about a quarter of the Italian ice before I tapped out. I'm not a fan of overly sweet treats, so even though I enjoy indulging occasionally, I can't eat too much in one sitting. That being said, I still enjoyed it, and I really like how affordable they are. Next time, I'll try sour apple and lemon since I prefer tangy and sour over sweet.
Jonny's Italian Ice is a welcome addition to Sunnyvale, conveniently located in the same area as the Falafel Stop, so you can get food and a treat. They offer a variety of Italian ice flavors at very reasonable prices, making it an easy stop on a hot day. Just a heads-up, some of the brighter flavors can temporarily turn your tongue and teeth colorful! Parking can be a bit of a challenge since it's a shared lot with Falafel Stop, especially during busy hours, but it's worth the effort. It's a fun, refreshing treat and definitely worth checking out when you're craving something cold and fruity.
Five stars for this new gem! The jelatti and soft serve combo is unmatched--definitely a must-try. We came during opening week and loved it. Tried to swing by again last night right before closing (around 10:30 PM) and the line was insane! Love seeing a great spot get so much hype so quickly. Just a heads up that the parking lot gets super crowded because of the neighboring falafel shop, but it is 100% worth the wait. Can't wait to go back!
Perfect little spot for a sweet summer treat! Their soft serve is creamy and not too sweet. The tartness of the Italian ice cuts through the richness of the soft serve which makes it a nicely balanced dessert. I got a little combo gelati with vanilla soft serve and mango and strawberry ice flavors, I think next time I'll skip mango as it was on the artificial tasting side but the strawberry and strawberry lemonade (which bf got) was really tasty! Line goes by fast. I'd park across the street and walk over since this parking lot has only like 10 spots lol.

Like literally the smoothest I've had AND I normally don't like ice but this one is superior. You can really tell they are using fresh ingredients to flavor. Service was so friendly. We met one of the owners, who also owns falafel stop. So personable and can't wait to come back! Lots of seating and so pet friendly!
Came by on a warm Monday afternoon and there was barely a line so my order was taken swiftly! I got a small cotton candy ice and a root beer jelati! Total for both was ~$9 so it was quite affordable and the size was super reasonable for the price! If you are a fan of cotton candy, you will love the one that is served here! Nothing more to say aside from sweet perfection. I tried the root beer with some of the soft serve and it was really good as well. Nice root beer flavor and the vanilla soft serve is super creamy and smooth. Staff is nice and sizable parking lot, though I imagine it can get packed on weekends. Would come again!
Next to falafel stop is this Italian ice gem! Think Joe's Italian Ice (Anaheim area) and lucky for Sunnyvale, this recently opened and is a hot spot. Summer is here and this is the perfect place to cool off with lots of dairy free options (for the vegans and lactose intolerant as of the world). I got the pineapple (think dole whip) and the strawberry ice (made with fresh strawberry bits). It's so refreshing on a hot summer day. Bring your patience as parking is difficult as lot is shared by the popular falafel stop), and lines can be long (and moves quickly). Stay cool and check out Italian Ice! Happy summer dears!

The line moves fast and there's also seating inside. I ordered the small jelati with strawberry ice and the guy behind was really nice and recommended that I pair it with mango and lemon ice as well. It turned out to be an awesome combination! All of their ice is made with real fruit and I liked how smooth the ice and soft serve was. I would totally recommend trying this place out if you are a fan of soft serve or Italian ice!

I like how there are 3 size options for the jelati and the prices are very reasonable. I got the jelati with mango Italian ice and vanilla soft serve. The soft serve was solid. The mango Italian ice was clearly very fresh and there were fruit chunks in it. Perfect for a dessert that doesn't feel too heavy. It does seem like their Italian ice flavors change regularly. Would definitely come back to try other Italian ice flavors and their dipped cones.
Wow! It was packed! Parking lot was full, if you find a place to park, wonderful, if you didn't, park somewhere and walk. The line was down the street but it went by really fast. A lot of seatings. There were so many flavors. I got the "jelati" peach and mango with cherry flavor on top. Lots of places to sit down, they outdoor and inside to sit and some behind their counter, cute place just in a small parking lot shared with the falafel place. Be prepared to stand in a long line. And the pricing is very reasonable.

So happy there's a local Italian ice spot in the bay!!! I actually have been here 3 times, however was only able to order once cuz the first 2 times I went the line was so long and I left. This is sooo comparable to the famous Joe's Italian Ice in OC, I think maybe even better!! the flavors for the soft serve here definitely offer more variety and it's organic as well! also the ice here uses real fruit so I feel pretty healthy eating this LOL. I ordered the jelati with a pomegranate twist soft serve, and for the ice i got 3 flavors: lemon, strawberry, and Shirley temple. This combo was the ultimate fruit heaven!! Soft serve was balanced and tarty coming from the pomegranate, and all the ice flavors were amazing and refreshing. The ice wasn't too sweet and the texture was airy, and soft. Parking is def hard so maybe park farther by the gas station or wherever you can find, that's the only downside. I can't wait to come back and try other flavors, and also bring my dog so he can get a free dessert! read more

I've been driving by this place for ages, and it's definitely blown up on social media. Stopped by for a jelati. I got a small and I think it's very generously portioned and honestly not too bad pricing wise! I got it with peach shaved ice and mango soft serve. It was a wonderful flavor combo! The ice is wonderfully textured and well seasoned. The soft serve is nice and creamy, and you can definitely tell that they use fresh fruits! It was a bit of a wait, but the line moves pretty fast! There's limited parking because it's the same lot as Falafel Stop. Lots of seating inside and there's a bit of a patio as well too! read more

This ice cream place has been the latest buzz for bay area foodies. You get the best of both worlds here if you're indecisive! The menu's main highlight would be the jelati which is half italian ice and half soft serve. There's a variety of italian flavors to choose from and they're all made from real fruit. It is smooth and not made from chunky ice. The soft serve is decadently milky and creamy. It isn't icy at all! I really think it is the best soft serve I'd had in a while. It comes in multiple flavors but the vanilla was perfect. There's a long line on weekends or when its busy. Stop by during lunch and you'll be served quickly. Staff is friendly and ready to give recommendations. This shaved ice place looks to be owned by the same owners as Falafel Stop. The payment system links back to the same vendor. Prices are reasonable for the quality and sizing. Definitely coming back to try out the other italian ice flavors and have more of the irresistible soft serve! read more
...hella good. Jelati is where it's at. It's Italian ice with super fluffy, creamy vanilla soft serve on top. Best of both worlds. Flavors are strong; really hits the spot. FYI parking is a nightmare as it shares the lot with the falafel stop (same owners too). Might be easier to park in the neighborhood and walk over. read more
As a big soft serve lover I had to come try it. Pulled up on a weekday possibly around lunch time for the local high school as all the kiddos were in line for this. There was like 2 people ahead of me and the line pretty quick. Guy took my order. Small Swirl soft serve and I paid and was on my way. Swirl soft serve was pretty standard. Held its texture. Parking was ok since it was not busy as it's a shared lot with the always busy falafel spot right in front. Since I didn't stay I didn't see what the seating looks like. Standard menu with their current flavors. It's been a minute since I've paid for a dessert under $5 so that was refreshing. read more

This place gets a lot of hype, so I decided to check it out after getting falafel stop. Line wasn't too long, but took quite a while, which was fine. I ordered a medium jelati, which is a mixture of soft serve and Italian ice. I got the vanilla soft serve, and the Shirley temple flavor Italian ice. I really enjoyed the soft serve. Super rich and creamy, and paired well with the Italian ice. The Italian ice itself was sweet and refreshing, but had many large ice chunks, which I'm not a huge fan of. read more
New spot across from falafel stop serving Italian ice and soft serve! Parking is tricky in this plaza as always, but it's a great dessert after getting falafel stop. I got the Jelati, which is a cup of soft serve on the bottom, shaved ice with up to three flavors in the middle, and more soft serve to top it off. Line moved fast on a weekend during lunchtime, and there was a table right outside. The Italian ice itself was delicious! I could really taste the flavors, the ice was smooth, and they rotate out flavors daily. The soft serve was just alright, I wish there was more ice and less soft serve. Either way, definitely coming back whenever I get falafel stop next! read more

Such a fun way to end a hot day! Everything is delicious we have tried the shakes, the Italian ice and the soft serves. It's so affordable and we came like three times in one week. I have been telling all my friends about it. The parking lot is less to be desired, there is parking but can be tight depending on time of day you go since it shares same lot as the Falafel STOP. Service is quick and easy. They have not opened the restaurant yet, it's only opening up window but plenty of outdoor seating. read more

First time trying this spot after seeing it on Instagram and this place did not disappoint especially on a hot day. The strawberry and mango combo was delicious. I'm not a big fan of the pina colada and mango combo so to me it wasn't that great but my bf enjoyed it. The soft serve was especially nice. It was so smooth and not too sweet. Service was quick. The only problem is the parking. Can't wait to go back to try other flavors. read more
Rita's is my favorite go-to spot so i was super excited to see another italian ice spot open up. This cute spot features a walk up order window with its own parking lot and indoor and outdoor seating. They have your typical soft serve flavors vanilla and chocolate but also a few dairy free options (today was pineapple and lime). We tried the strawberry lemonade italian ice with the pineapple soft serve. I was delighted to find actual fruit pieces in both the soft serve and the ice, however my husband and I both agreed that it kind of tasted off... like what a toilet cake smells like. Maybe we chose the wrong flavor combo but down to give it another try. read more
Excited to share about the warm hospitality and great ambiance that reminds me of Joe's Italian Ice in Anaheim. It might be a hot-take but I can argue that the quality of the Italian ice flavors are much FRESHER and less artificial tasting because they actually use real fruit! In the lemon ice, you might find a few seeds or some rinds from the flesh of the lemon (it doesn't get fresher than that!) Each of the flavors were mellow and not too strong, not too sweet either. With the vanilla soft serve of the gelati, there is a great balance of creamy and fruity-ness. My friends and I really enjoyed the lemon, mango, peach, strawberry-lemon, and pineapple flavors! The soft serve was pretty good! It wasn't as thick as some other places I have had, but it was definitely still a great smooth texture. Beyond the fruity gelati flavors, they also have brownie and ice cream sundaes which I want to try next time! You get all of that for under $5 for a sweet treat! I think that's a great deal. There is seating outdoors near the front of the stand in the parking lot, and also plentiful amounts of seating in the indoor patio of the shop. Especially at night, they had heating which was noticeable on the chilly evening we went. The hours are not listed yet on any site, but they said they are open everyday from 11AM to 10PM. It will be a great place to grab a later-night sweet treat! The parking is a little limited and there is no street parking, so in the case of a full-lot, you can park across the street at the plaza. read more

I was worried with it being hot out day it would be uncomfortably crowded and busy. The line was kind of long, but moved very quickly and I was surprised to find several open tables in back. The soft serve is really good- almost custard like. My son got the twist on a cone dipped in chocolate. I got a jelati with vanilla and tropical fruit. There was actually pieces of fruit in it and it was delicious. I was also really surprised by how reasonably priced it was, especially for the quality. This will definitely be a regular stop for us when we're in the area. Wish I'd known they were here when I was pregnant and had weekly appointments down the street- I'd have been here every week. read more

YUM OVERALL, I love this place and would honestly rate them higher if I could. cheaper, creamier, more flavorful than rita's with real fruit pieces in the italian ice. the staff is also very kind and accommodating! so happy my gf found this cute, casual place. I'll be coming back -- no question. YUM!!!! I got: - a pineapple-lemon gelati with vanilla custard: 5/5 delicious. it was only $6 and I was shocked how rich the custard was. and the italian ice had real pieces of fruit in it! random, but I loved the little clear cups too. fun to see your jelati layered! just be wary that the parking can get a bit tight read more
I drove by one day and noticed the building across from Falafel Stop had some activity. The banner read Italian Ice & Cream. Two days later, a coworker came back from lunch and had soft serve on a cup. She said it was from this place and it's pretty good. So the hub and I decided to try it after a light lunch on a weekend. Luckily we went before the lunch rush at Falafel Stop and we secure a spot by the entrance. If you don't know, parking can be VERY challenging. Staff were very friendly. One of the staffers explained all their flavors and recommended to try a sample. I asked how long they've been open. They had a soft opening the week before we visited. I tried the banana. It was good but the ice was too chunky for me. We're Rita's fans so that's what I was comparing it to. We both settled for the swirl. Staff was training so the first one we got was off but it stood! LOL The second one was perfect. They have two outdoor tables by the mural. Not sure if the interior was open, although it was set up with tables and benches. Our soft serve was good but the consistency was not dense. It was a little too soft so we had to finish it quickly as it started to drip. Go check it out and see for yourself! read more

I saw that Italian Ice & Cream had finally opened, and as a big fan of Gunther's up in Sacramento I had to come and try! The window is cute and there's a few shaded benches outside to sit at to enjoy your ice and cream. Service was friendly, and the worker explained the different menu options and offered samples when asked. I got a small Jellati, which allows you to pick "as many flavors as you want" of the ice, and comes with soft serve on the bottom and on top. The soft serve isn't as rich or creamy as ice cream, and is a pretty plain straight forward vanilla - it does the job for pairing with the italian ice but I would prefer a nice scoop of ice cream instead, and felt like having it both at the bottom and on top was a little too much soft serve and not enough italian ice to balance it out. I would probably just get the italian ice on it's own. The flavors seem to rotate often, and I got the mango, pina colada and tropical fruit, all of which were tasty and seemed to be made with real fruit - there were little bits of fruit in each. Some of the flavors do seem to be artificial though - notably the strawberry and the sour apple that day, so I would ask before ordering if you're looking for real fruit flavors! Thank goodness for Instagram! Came the same day to check it out. Cute place, limited parking, shares it with falafel stop and there is space inside to sit in the shade. The line moves slow BUT that's cause they are super personable and make sure the order is perfect. I got chocolate and cherry jelati and he recommended lemon with it so ofc we got it and it was delicious! The lemon cut the cherry tartness and made it taste even better! Also got it with mango and peach. The Italian ice is super smooth, not too much or overwhelmingly sweet either. Highly recommend to check this spot out. If we were closer we would come out weekly!! read more

The shaved ice was really flavorful. I got a medium and i was allowed to get 4 flavors because the guy was so nice. The boss soon came out and gave us a strawberry milkshake to try. I remember really getting the watermelon, blue raspberry and mango. The flavors were pretty strong. I would go back and try more of their stuff read more

Such a tasty sweet treat! They use fresh fruits for their Italian ice and you can really taste it! The vanilla custard cream pairs so well with the strawberry ice. It's not too thick and actually tastes like vanilla (NOT the artificial one)! Great for a hot weather! The workers also let me sample the Italian ice flavors before buying! read more
