Such a wonderful place to stop by on our way from the Bay Area to LA. We stopped for gas and saw Leo's Cafe across the street, thinking it was about time for brunch. It looks like the Breakfast and Dinner options are served during the entire operating hours of 8am-2pm. We were met with a warm welcome from the waitress and the service was superb. I got the biscuits and gravy (which came with 3 biscuits) and a cup of fruit (grapes, oranges, and cantaloupe) My partner got the meat mountain omelette and the total came out to be around $30. The place is very quaint but has lots of seating indoors and outdoors. There is a 1 stall restroom, and as a cute addition, there is a guest book for the customers to sign! read more

Excellent food, fast and friendly service. Our go to place for convenient breakfast or lunch in San Miguel. It's hidden away near gas stations, so it's easy to miss. Inside there are several tables and they have a shaded patio outside (not covered from rain, but they wiped our table and seats down after a quick rainfall) Food is excellent and comes out fast. Can't ask for more. read more

Another fabulous meal at Leo's. They knocked it out of the park on both of our entrees. The chili relleno was the best I ever had. Great flavor, moist, hot and an amazing chunky tomato salsa. Love eating at Leo's cafe. It's a cute little restaurant that gives you visiting your grandma for Sunday breakfast/Lunch vibes. The service is always great, fast and super friendly. Even though they have times set for their menus they never fail to accommodate us, they just let us know it'll be a little longer while they heat up the grill to get everything going. Today I had the ABC burger but I have probably had about half their menu between myself and my husband. We come here 1-2 times a month and have yet to be disappointed since they opened up here in our little San Miguel town. read more

I was headed north unexpectedly early, so had time for a breakfast stop. Rather than hit up any of the trendy spots in Paso, I decided to hop north a tad further and support smaller biz an a very small community. Came upon Leo's and look forward to my return! Upon approach, I was a bit turned off by their signage which invested more space in training people away (no dogs! No public restroom! Not a coffee house!) than inviting them in. Hey, if people want froo-froo coffee so often you have to put up a sign, maybe it's time to invest in an espresso maker. (Check with your local coffee roaster for their test-drive/rent-to-buy programs.) I almost turned around, but took a breath and gave it a shot. Once inside I was warmly greeted by the sole server in a midweek morning. A couple of old farmers chatted over breakfast in one corner. A woman at another small table gnoshed and stared at her phone streaming video with sound full on while a toddler in a stroller sought her attention. Another solo diner quietly worked his way through breakfast in this tiny dining room that (thankfully) hasn't been updated in a good while. Except for the screaming phone screen, it was old-school comfortable. The menus was loaded with options and I settled on comfort food with a twist. Biscuits and gravy made with chorizo was excellent. Leo's is always my go to spot when I am traveling through central California. I would love to see more people in there filling the place up. It has a great atmosphere, friendly service and fantastic food. I typically order the breakfast burrito and it is always delicious. Today I got an egg combo and it was also very good. There's something beautiful about the ritual of patronizing local businesses while pulling a long road trip. As the choir has stated, this place is charming and the food is as you would hope for it to be. It's also cleverly across from the Chevron along the Highway 101. Somehow I managed to need gas at this exact spot on both the departing and returning route so of course I couldn't pass up the opportunity to drink coffee and have a big fat omelette with biscuits and gravy--a driving girl's gotta eat. read more

Found this hidden gem on a road trip to la from San Francisco. The service was warm & friendly. The atmosphere is absolutely adorable. I ordered the Chile Verde omelet with hash browns & biscuits & gravy on the side. I am not joking when I say this is one of the most unique & delicious breakfast omelets I have ever had! I just have to give this restaurant a five because it was such an unexpected gem in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. We were heading back to the Bay Area from Santa Barbara and had passed a town too late to turn off for a quick lunch. I went to Yelp and found Leo's at the next exit. I had a wonderful fresh chicken quesadilla with mild salsa, and my husband had the crispy chicken sandwich. Of the two, the quesadilla was without question the best, but both were good. The outdoor space was fine, the restroom was clean and large, and the service was excellent. When you're driving many hours on a highway it is always nice to find a place like this especially one that is sitting literally next to the freeway. read more

We simply cannnot praise Leo's Cafe highly enough. The food and service are both excellent. This is a family-owned place, and it really shows. Leo and Nora are super nice people, and Leo is a fine chef! I am a connoisseur of the meal "eggs benedict," and Leo's are the best in the state! We discovered Leo's on one of our frequent trips down Hwy 101, and are so happy we did. Forever after, we make a point of arriving hungry at Leo's, and we have never been disappointed. All the food is so fresh, and Leo is an artist creating flavors. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, everything in the place is spotless. The only slight challenge is finding it. As some people say, doesn't look much from the outside. I wonder if they've ever been to Mexico. Leo's is a great place for breakfast. The menu is Gringo on one side and Mexican on the other. Perfect breakfast. After being offered home fries or hash browns, I unwired how the hash browns were here. "They are very good. " They were perfect. Not great or overcooked or undercooked. Delicious. And the before inlet had so many veggies in it I thought i was eating a delightful cooked salad with generous amounts of cheese. Pleasant and personable attendants. While the humble outside of the building might cause you to pause, the food is worth the drive! Clean with great service and for the first time in my life, I asked for crispy hash browns and GOT crispy hash browns! Presentation was excellent and the flavors of the omelette was fantastic.
