    Maine Lobster Stew

Great lobster stew and atmosphere. It's like the neighborhood cheers of Maine and a good place to grab a bite to eat.

Haven't been here in years - and it was awesome! Pub food at its best and, unexpected delight - a fabulous wine list at reasonable prices. We had a great lunch - started with a crab cake app - great flavor, pepper chunks a bit large, but I like the crunch! The wraps were really good, overstuffed and messy but delish. Thank you Sidney for awesome service.

Ok location; Downtown with plenty of inexpensive Parking..within a short walk. Hostess stand was occupied by 3 unaware, unattractive. , oblivious employees..probably just hanging out for $ 12/ hr...heaven knows..all.had difficulty welcoming anyone within range..( Father in law pt.owner..soooo Football Season is here & underway, Thank God their are numerous other Choices. Been coming here on/ off for decades, always a last resort..low- grade dog food..

Joshuas from the outside looks like fine dining, but then inside has a bar like atmosphere. The restaurant has better food than you would find at a college bar. I ordered the broiled fish in a butter sauce. A local commented that I must be from out of town since I ordered seafood. However, I was glad I did. Admittedly, the nachos also looked good and were piled high. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience.

Fantastic fresh picked lobster rolls! Service was great and hubby had a great Rueben with Lone Pine IPA. But the lobster rolls was the star. Huge chunks of fresh picked lobster perfectly dressed on a freshly toasted roll. I've only been coming up to Maine for 18 years. This is THE BEST lobster roll I've ever had!

Lobster roll no Mayo and curly fries... delish!

First time here. Cute spot for sure and the food was delicious. Staff very friendly and refilled our drinks when needed (huge plus). Loved that it is clean and spacious!

A very low key place with some good food. The staff was all super nice and friendly and so were all the people there.

The clam chowder was buttery and full of meat and potatoes, but could have used a bit of corn starch to thicken it up. The bacon wrapped scallops were good but could have used a maple glaze or thicker bacon to enhance the flavor of the bacon. The mozzarella sticks were gooey and full of cheese but needed a bit more seasoning in the breading. Overall, the food was tasty and not overpriced. This is a great place for a family lunch outing on a nice day. Service: The cashier was nice and helpful. Ambience: The restaurant has a small gift shop inside that has a bunch of cute gift options. There are multiple small picnic bench areas under an awnings and with a view of the water. This is a great spot and I look forward to trying out more of their menu.

The issues were glaring though. We arrived early for a group reservation of 10 and started at the bar. The service was very slow and we got the sense that the bartender was frustrated that we showed up early with the idea to have a cocktail before our reservation. Bar service continued to be painstakingly slow throughout the night. The restaurant was somehow out of several of their menu options (despite the restaurant not being busy on a weekend day). Not the end of the world, but it left us asking some questions. The major issues really arose when our entree courses were served. They had somehow ran out of french fries, and you could see that in the portion size of the frites in our steak frites (the picture included in our review was our plate -- we had BY FAR the most fries out of those at the table who ordered steak frites). And they ran out of steak - one of the people at our party who ordered steak frites was served a hamburger (which isn't even on the menu). Overall, I thought that we overpaid for the food and if it wasn't for the good company at our dinner - I would have been very frustrated.

We enjoyed the fresh oysters and the 'clambake' of mixed seafood treats. When we were recently back in town, we were looking forward to a return visit but sadly, were quite disappointed. The good news is that the oysters were fresh and tasty ($37/doz). The rest was disappointing. The servings were now tapas-size. The well-known brown butter lobster roll was not quite like the image on the www site. Tasty, but not a meal. (Red's Eats is a real lobster roll.) We also ordered bluefin tuna crudo, which is sprinkled with scallions and diced ginger bits and slices of radish. The tuna was fresh, but the flavor of this fish is not strong enough to stand up to these toppings. Taken together, the fish is barely detectable. Pull off the radish and the fish comes through but the ginger dominates. Pick off most the ginger and it's pretty good. However, there should not have been a fish scale (~1 cm sq). Makes me wonder about the potential crossover in the kitchen. Sorry, Eventide, we'll go elsewhere next time.
