I feel so lucky to have found a coffee shop like Journey. Having just moved to the area I felt pretty homesick for my old coffee shop but Journey has since then become my new normal. The coffee shop itself is very welcoming and is overall an enjoyable place to sit and catch up with a friend. The staff is always polite, patient, and helpful as well. The menu is just how any good coffee shop should be, from seasonal lattes to traditional espresso drinks, but they don't stop there. They also offer breakfast and lunch options as well as tea, ice cream, various pastries from the pastry case, coffee beans, and merchandise. Although I haven't tried their actual food items just yet, what I can tell you is that their almond milk cappuccinos are among the best I have had. Their pastries are also great and I love that they even have cupcakes if you are feeling really indulgent. So I had 3 coffees today and out of all three this one was the best.... I walked in and I loved the decor, beautiful elegant yet casual. Makes you feel welcome. Then the barista greeted me with a smile and warm welcome. There was so much to choose from and I was in a slight hurry so I picked the first thing I saw. Lavender latte added a shot. I hadn't had breakfast so when she asked if I wanted something else I went over to her pastry display and picked out one of the scones. I got my latte pretty quick and it looked beautiful. I then took my cup got a lid and left. That first sip was awesome.....OMG perfect blend of everything. So some coffees are bitter, some are not strong , some are bland ect. This one was just righr. Even with the added shot it was not bitter, it didn't leave an after taste and it wasn't too sweet. The scone was delicious, moist and perfect. If i lived closer to it I be there every day. What is there to say about Journey... let's start with the best coffee shop in Vacaville. I will be the first to admit that I am somewhat of a coffee snob. I am not saying that my coffee needs to be $25 a pound in order to be worth drinking. However, if you walk into a coffee shop and ask for a macchiato and they say what size then your probably in the wrong spot. Journey has an actual espresso menu. Listing them off from Espresso all the way up to Latte. This is a sign to me that this is a legitimate coffee shop that cares to do coffee and espresso properly. I am partial to a cortado, finding that it has a great balance between the milk and the espresso. Many chain coffee shops do not teach their baristas the true difference between a cortado, macchiato or a latte. This is not a problem you will run into while at Journey. In addition to their coffee knowledge, they also have a great pastry selection. Their version of a classic pop-tart is simply delicious. Currently, their fall flavored cupcakes are also very good. They do make food in addition to their selection of sweets, however, I have not tried anything yet so I can not speak on that. I'm really bad about writing reviews but I can't stop thinking about the breakfast wrap I had at Journey last week. I have to make the drive from the Bay Area to the Foothills often and I hate stopping at Starbucks on the way through so I actually pulled off the road and Yelped a coffee place. I really wanted an americano to get me through the drive but it didn't hurt that the place had food. I'm a breakfast all day girl so when I saw the breakfast wrap i knew it was what I needed. Once I got in the car to start eating, I noticed they used a spinach wrap and took the time to put on the griddle to brown and make it crispy on the outside. Eggs were perfectly cooked, crumbled bacon and a hot sauce that took it to the next level. So many coffee shops fail the breakfast burrito but Journey puts so much attention into these toasty bundles of love. My americano was a perfectly balanced cup and went down easily. I can't wait to make my way back again to try more of the menu items . . . but I'll likely keep ordering that breakfast wrap. read more

No more truck!!! Journey Coffee is now a legitimate brand spanking new coffee shop in Alamo Plaza. The location is great: it is near the gym and close to the freeway so there is no reason to cross the overpass for Starbucks any longer. And the coffee is like a billion times better. No more truck means that the drink assortment has now expanded and on top of their signature drinks they can now offer pourover, french press, and even nitro brew. What makes Journey the best in the area is that the owner Marne understands the art of brewing with beans and it shows in each drink that himself or one of his baristas make for you. While still working some technicalities out with the store, it is very clear that Journey is here to stay. If you are picky like me, looking for a coffee drink that will allow you to actually enjoy the taste of beans and not just the caffeine kick, then you will love Journey Coffee Company. I use to like this spot. 4 to 5 stars. Wifi, plenty of seating, friendly staff, and good coffee. However, 1. I usually get the cold brew. It was rich and smooth. Now its bland. Tan colored water. 2. Aren't food and coffee places supposed to be having employees wear masks. Here nope. It's a hit and a miss and some who do don't cover there nose, so that defeats the purpose. Between not wanting to get sick, their staff is in their 20s and in Solano County the majority of those infected with COVID are 18 to 49, and the BAD cold brew, I won't be back for a while unfortunately. Journey is one of my favorite places to get work done. There is a ton of tables both indoors and outdoors and they have free wifi. Despite the many tables, the whole place is spacious and has a really friendly and chill vibe from the time you walk in. The employees always serve their customers with a smile and seem interested to make small talk with you. I haven't tried their food or smoothie options yet but I really like the drinks they make here! My go to is an iced lavender latte with oat milk. It has a smooth taste without any of the flavors being too overpowering. I also tried their nitro cold brew, which was a bit too bitter for me but I'm also not much of a black coffee drinker either. read more

Ordered an iced matcha latte and a vitality acai bowl. Matcha latte tasted like water down milk. Couldn't taste the matcha at all. Completely different from the last time I came here. Acai bowl comes in a tiny plastic to go bowl and was filled up about a quarter of the bowl and then the toppings made it fill up the bowl up to halfway. I knew when I looked at the bowl (before even tasting it) that something was off. The color is not the rich dark purple that normal acai bowls are. Instead, it was a very light purple, almost brownish color. When I finally put a spoonful of the acai in my mouth, I didn't taste flavor of any sort. Thank goodness there were dried blueberries and bananas as toppings to give it some flavor. Otherwise I would've tossed the whole thing out. Might give this place another try for the matcha latte since they made it well the first time. But will most def never get the acai bowl again. Plus one star for friendly service. Five stars for calling it a 'Cortado'. A Cortado is a Spanish drink that has been around for thousands of years. Putting a Cortado in a gibralter glass and calling it a Gibralter , Blue Bottle, is like putting a Cappucino in a tumbler glass, calling it a Tumbler', and then saying you invented it. As we were driving to the outlets, my bf told me had to have his coffee fix . Before he decided to stop at the nearest Starbucks , I told him to give me a chance to yelp something different. Journey seemed like a local favorite so we decided to check it out. Upon walking in, the workers just glared at us . They definitely could've been nicer . It took letting them know we were first timers for them to properly greet us and give us recommendations . They had a nice selection of drinks and according to the barista, their lavender latte was the most popular . I usually don't drink coffee but I made an exception for today. My bf ordered the nitro brewed coffee while I decided to get the iced vanilla/ cocoa latte aka the tuxedo. Once we got our drinks, I quickly took a sip of what seemed like liquid cocaine. My drink was super good! I think it's great they don't have a location in sac because it definitely wouldn't be good for my health if they did . My bf said his drink was super watery and run down. He definitely should've listened to the barista when telling him it really tastes like run down coffee. I took a sip and was super happy I didn't order it. Would we come back ? Yes! Journeys has exceptional service, and their coffee is amazing, I think shaming this business over masks, is unnecessary. They are doing the best they can under unfortunate circumstances. If they have two employees not able to wear masks, then social distance from them. Or choose somewhere new to go. I've been going on a daily basis and the majority of employees and customers are all being respectful of mask mandate. It's not our job to police each other on mask wearing. A friend and I were hunting for a fun Vacaville spot to sit and catch up, and I'm glad she found Journey. With a simple but inviting interior, plenty of seating, and friendly staff, we immediately felt welcome. I was impressed by the menu but a little surprised at the prices for a Vacaville coffee shop. We ordered chai lattes and a couple pastries. The chai was well-spiced and not too sweet, which is hard to find! The strawberry scone was good, but the raspberry homemade pop tart was absolutely delicious! We stayed and chatted for so long we got smoothies on our way out the door, and the Good Morning and Very Berry were tasty, but nothing too out of the ordinary. If I'm in Vacaville again I'll definitely want to return for a chai and pop tart. Delicious! read more

Had the worst experience ! I went to Journeys early in the morning knowing there probably wouldn't be too many people. I called my order in, when I called the young girl was nice and listening to everything I was saying and also suggesting items! Now when I got there it was a whole other story! I was ignored for the first five minutes and no one acknowledged me, then finally a guy came and rang me up and tells me it was going to be almost $18 with tax for a latte with oat milk and an egg white wrap add sausage and that didn't make any sense so I questioned it and he says yeah the prices went up in a very passive way and smiling. Then continues and days Haven't you heard about minimum wage and I agree and say oh yeah and with the virus I'm sure it's terrible! I was trying to be nice and reason with him like ok. So then I wait about ten minutes to get both my food and drink, which remember I called it in. I get it and no one says anything the girl from the back just tosses it on the counter. The guy was like here's your food and drink, then they give you the coffee with no lid like ok, I look at it and it's not even filled to the top!!! I then ask one of the girls if she can fill some regular coffee, which they did but she gave me so much attitude! I get in my car like whatever and open the wrap to take a bite and there is BACON!!!! Bacon is in my wrap with the sausage and the egg whites and don't get me wrong I actually like Bacon but I didn't even ask for it !!! And not only that but what if I was allergic or super religious and I took a bite of that??? I know this would be a big deal !!! But I'm not allergic nor religious and to some this may not be a big deal but it is to me, I will NEVER go back to a business that doesn't take instruction twice ! I talked to the girl on the phone told her what I wanted then I talked to the man in person and repeated what I wanted... got charged extra, wasn't fully listened to, and wasn't acknowledged. They were rude inside and treated me like a whatever lady here's your food attitude after I paid my $18 !!! This place is ridiculous and I probably won't go back!
