Journey Cafe on 308 Main St. What a great find. Located in a former Theater Lobby, this historic site has been repurposed into a medium sized Coffee/Juice/Food/Entertainment Venue. Spouse an I dropped in for a late, late breakfast and coffee. What a treat. Great Vanilla Lattes and the California Breakfast Special was delicious. The menu is killer! Ventured to journey today because a few friends and I had heard it was good. It's definitely a typical hipster coffee shop. I will say though it's not the best coffee I've ever had. I know they try and source correctly and use organic ingredients and such. To me it just doesn't stand out. I wasn't disappointed but it wasn't super amazing either. I enjoyed the iced vanilla latte but the vanilla flavor wasn't as strong as I had hoped. Again, it's not like it was undrinkable. The pop tart is what won me over. That raspberry tart is a shining pastry of this place. I could have had a few more of them. Okay, now the bagel with eggs cheese and bacon honestly was disgusting. The egg was seriously bigger than the bagel. I took one bite and had to throw the rest out. It was so beyond thick and rubbery. It was okay to eat without the egg but I wish I had just gotten another pop tart instead. Even my friends commented how big the egg was before I said anything about it. I would possibly return for a cup of coffee and pastry but not so sure about the food. I was visiting friends that way today so needless to say I'm sure locals like it because it was packed. I once had this place as my favorite. Went almost every other day. And as such got to know the people there. And slowly over the course of time they changed drastically. Getting less and less friendly and acting more and more haughty. I don't know what I did, but besides the point I shouldn't have to be walking on eggshells if someone is rude and gets my order wrong. It's usually an amazing experience, but today it showed how inconsiderate the establishment is. My boyfriend and I went inside to order, they are open, as most places still are to take out. When we get to the counter the employee will not ring us up, and says we HAVE TO download the App. Not a big deal at all, but **The App is only available in the Apple Store, not available for download on Android's!!!** Really upsetting my favorite coffee shop is only catering to Apple users, and not being considerate enough to ring customers up that DONT have Apple phones. read more

I tried oats milk because it was suggested to me by the staff and I explain I am lactose intolerance and for those who never heard of oats milk here the definition of it. Plant milk has been consumed for centuries in various cultures, both as a regular drink and as a substitute for dairy milk. The most popular varieties are soy milk, almond milk, rice milk and coconut milk. The protein content varies. For people lactose intolerant or bot consuming dairy at all. I've had Journey's coffee before it even became a permanent store location and was just a coffee truck. What caught my curiosity early on was their latte art. You will not find that anywhere else unless you drive further away from these local parts. Probably one of the hippest coffee shops in town! They offer open space with both long and smaller tables for all visiting guests. There is even an outdoor area for those who want some sunshine. I have seen families, workout individuals, and students come to this place. On that note the wifi password is usually by the front register. I find that they do their best in getting the orders out. What they make is made with a little more love than most coffee shops, so cut them a little slack! They have a variety of coffee, smoothies/juices, food, and baked goods. There really is something for everyone. If I wasn't such prone to palpitations I would probably have their coffee more often. That being said, I lean towards their speciality smoothies. I like how the speciality smoothies taste refreshing and delicious while being healthy. You can totally tell the ingredients they use are fresh. I've had both the A+ and green machine thus far. The A+ has bananas, dates, cacao nibs, cacao powder, cocoa powder, walnuts, chocolate plant protein, greens, & coconut milk. Green machine contains spinach, kale, orange, lemon, ginger, banana, & coconut milk. Hmm, I wish I had either one of those right now! The only complaint I have is that if you're sitting inside, you have to pay close attention on the fat counter to see if your food is ready. It takes quite a bit of time- yummy worth it- but nobody ever speaks loud enough to inform you when it's done. read more

Based on the recommendation of the Barista, I ordered the Lavander Latte. At first sip I kind of quirked my head a bit. It had a very unusual taste at first. Not unusual bad but unusual different. Then after another sip I realized how smooth the coffee went down and after a few more sips, I began to really enjoy my latte. Not only was my latte smooth and creamy in texture, it carried with it a pleasant aroma. Definitely a surprising treat. Prices are kind of high and I would have preferred my latte to be slightly hotter. But I will be returning to try more drinks. read more

While in town shopping at the outlets , we wanted some coffee to start our day so of course yelp is my to go to favorite app. Found this place on yelp and I'm so glad we did because everything about the place I loved it. It's bigger than I expected with an outside patio. It was packed! Matcha latte with almond milk- everything about it was delicious! It just tasted so rich and smooth & probably one of the best matcha latte I've had. Kombucha tea - happiness was the flavoring I think lol. Catchy & cute name. It was refreshing of course and they had other flavors as well. I would recommend it. Macarons- it's not the best I've had, the strawberry one tasted artificial. Salted caramel , the filling was a bit on a sweet side. Champagne was pretty looking and it was okay. Vegan chocolate was probably the best one. Customer service was great and just the ambiance of the place is nice. I would highly recommend it and I would definitely be back whenever we are in town shopping. Strong coffee, delicious food, and plenty of space for families, businessmen, and students alike. I went to one lake and took a walk. I decided to get a drink for my daughter and myself afterwards. The staff was absolutely horrible and rude. It took 15 minutes to get a smoothie made because the 2 girls working were to busy showing each other stuff on their phones and laughing and making each other drinks. I stood patiently and observed the kitchen from where I stood. Meat was piled high on the counter in the open. Staff were not wearing masks. A women asked for a fork and one girl barista acted put off to get it for her. I absolutely wouldn't go here again not until they train their staff or get rid of them. I receive a gift card for Journey Coffee. I love freshly ground coffee. I am very particular about the beans I grind every morning. I have a few favorites which include award winning beans like Kicking Horse, Stone Street, and who doesn't love Peet's ? Well back to Journey. I used my gift card to buy some coffee beans. When I opened the bag at home for the grind, I was pleasant surprised by the fresh aroma! The coffee I brewed wAs smooth and rich! No acid taste. A wonderful cup of coffee! So now I have one more favorite to add to the list, and I can buy it here in Vacaville too! It's so obvious that others have also discovered this place because the store was packed. I have to only give 4 stars though because you must be aware when it comes to take out orders from their app...which is my go to method. I (used to) order salads to go, two times I paid extra for bacon...received no bacon at all. Two other times I got no dressing to put on my salads (I work nights so these discoveries aren't found until it's way too late to take care of). My favorite smoothies are hit and miss...most days perfection! Other days..I don't get the extra espresso shot that I pay for and I'm just sipping thick straight peanut butter. Great place to hang out with a friend! Love the ambience in here. Very hipster-chic. The coffee is passable, wasn't too impressed with the lavender latte that everyone on Yelp is raving about. I just get the regular coffee, nothing special. Over the few times I've been here I haven't tried the food yet. My friend had the homemade Poptart but she didn't like it. I believe they make their own almond milk and it's a must. I appreciate their food/snack selection too.
