    Dry and old Chicken katsu.

The atmosphere and the service could use improvement or change of management. I wish I had read these 1* reviews before walking into this establishment. If Joy is really a hard hardworking & customer service oriented, like these people try to convince new clientel, then she wouldn't treat customers like they owe her or are robbing her a fortune instead be grateful someone is willing to pay 15+ USD for terrible service and small portion and to top it offf low quality appearance of a plate. Terrible service, poor quality and horrible attitude by the old lady. Had us wait for ten minutes before taking our orders and when she asked if to go or dine in she had an attitude and told us where to sit from the table we had already chosen to sit at, then when I headed to the bathroom to wash my hands before eating she yelled at me not to go and wait until she was done with the person she was taking an order from. Then when our food was finally served I asked for ketchup and she had an attitude saying she doesn't have a bottle of ketchup around in here, and to have my 2 year old eat the chicken katsu with sweet and sour because I had order veggie rolls, had I not there would be nothing for my child to eat this dried up old katsu. Never will you have my business again and regretted choosing this as our Sunday meal with my family. The chicken katsu portion was less than a chicken breast and overpriced. I served half to my 2year old and that other half I barely ate 3pieces of because this plate appeared grayish, old like, dry, and the serving for the katsu sauce was less than a tablespoon worth. My experience was terrible this place doesn't deserve any stars.

I visited on a lark and was more than pleasantly surprised. This place has some seriously good chicken teriyaki. After sitting in the restaurant, eat my teriyaki, I found myself, plate empty, satisfied but still wanting more. Rarely do I find myself feeling this way and I simply had to post a review. TLDR/ Food: Delicious, Atmosphere: Homey and Nostalgic, Cleanliness: Fresh and tidy, Verdict: A resounding Yes! This!! The restaurant is located in a unassuming strip mall and from the outside, doesn't look like much. When you entere, the atmosphere is somewhere between how your Mom's kitchen table and a trendy hipster hole in the wall might feel. The staff was friendly and attentive without feeling pushy, the food came out steaming hot and was well portioned. There is a mixture of tables and table booths and the soda is refillable. They have a tv quietly playing in the background and, continuing the homey feel, you can hear slight rumblings from the kitchen, which harken that which is to come. While I sat, quietly enjoying the delectable and quintessential green salad (with slightly sweet dressing), white rice (which I drizzled with the soy and extra teriyaki that were on the table), chicken combo, quite a few people came in, ordered to go, and left seemingly very excited. This leads me to believe that this somewhat hidden gem has quite the cult following, as it is early afternoon on a Tuesday. The selection in this particular restaurant is broad, boasting not only traditional teriyaki fare but expanding into Korean and Chinese options, which seemed to be ordered in equal measure with the teriyaki. While this is not the most intimate, nor the most trendy restaurant, it doesn't need to be, because the warm feelings, alluring smells, and pleasant atmosphere make me remember how it felt going out as a family when I was young. What higher praise can you look for as a restaurant than to make your patrons feel like they have gone home again. I wish that every restaurant could make me feel as nostalgic and special as this one does, I can't put my finger on what makes this place so special, but maybe that sits just fine with me. If you are looking for better-than-good teriyaki, Korean or Chinese, in a friendly, clean, family friendly atmosphere, then this place will check all your boxes. Try it, dine in or take out, you won't regret it.

It was absolutely unbelievable. The food is so freaking good and fresh! The service was amazing and the staff is very friendly. They're also abiding by COVID rules which is a plus!! 100/10 recommend!

You've got a cozy, welcoming ambience, the sweetest elderly couple around dishing up service you'd never get anywhere else, and the most filling, mouthwatering, filling, downright DELICIOUS teriyaki in the Pierce County. I had the bulgogi, a Korean dish with marinated cuts of beef, and grilled veggies, like onions and chives. The cook brings out the plate, SIZZLING hot, atop a hot skillet type dish. You'd wanna let this baby rest for a bit before digging in. Your patience will be rewarded, with tender, juicy, rich beef, balanced with the nice acidic bite of the chives and onions, served with hot and soft rice. Need I say more? I also got the BBQ pork (pictured below), which is ALMOST the same as the bulgogi, a Korean BBQ marinaded cuts of pork coming out sizzling straight from the kitchen, with rice. This pork was melt in your mouth tender, it offered a nicer acidic bite in comparison to the richness of the bulgogi, the onions and chives accentuating this flavor even more so. After a little while of enjoying our food, the couple must've been having lunch, when the lady running the place brings my family and I some slices of watermelon, FREE! The watermelon was oh so crisp and juicy. The couple running the place deserve the world and MORE. I also forgot to mention the value, you get a great amount of food for what you pay for, you'll definitely get your money's worth here. Whenever you find yourself with an appetite in the area, I cannot recommend this place enough, you will not be disappointed.

Looked up on Yelp and came up with this amazing find. Located in a non descript older strip mall, it doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside is very cozy. Kodie was our server. She was amazing. Very cordial and friendly. We ordered the deluxe sashimi and the tempura meal. I included a photo of the sashimi meal. And yes it does taste as amazing as it looks. The fish was very fresh and the cuts were amazing. As for the tempura, it too was very good. If you've eaten tempura as often as I have, you can quickly tell the difference between low quality and high quality batter. Generous portion sizes too. The meals came with miso soup and a salad. Very enjoyable. Thank you very much again Kodie and the rest of the crew for a fantastic experience. We look forward to coming back the next time we are in town

I've been here a few times with my husband, daughter, cousin and other family members. The restaurant is located off 39th Avenue across from Chik-fil-A and behind Mukja Korean Barbecue restaurant. Parking is limited in the front section of the restaurant. More parking at the left side of the building. The employees are nice and welcoming. The interior is clean, not so bright, slightly dark interior and comfortable vibe. We have ordered and tried the following: -Bento box with beef and mixed tempura $27.00. -Dynamite roll (it's ok) -Ari roll (yummy!) -Mt Fuji roll (yummy!) -Crunch Shrimp roll (yummy!) -Seaweed salad (yummy!) -Epic Spicy Tuna roll (yummy!) -Rockstar roll (yummy!) Happy and returning customers! =D

They have…read moreincreased their lunch prices since then so just be aware that the menus I posted last year are not the same as this current year. I had gotten their bento lunch special last year and was very happy with the amount of food but did not receive miso soup. They raised this price by $5 and I couldn't really justify that so I decided to get something else. My boyfriend got their sushi roll lunch special last time and in our recent visit and was happy with his choices. I got the sushi rolls lunch specials this time and I wished the rolls had more rice on them as there spots that had no rice at all or it would just come apart. For our rolls, we have tried their Philly roll, shrimp tempura roll, Lion King Roll, and spicy Bay roll. The sushi here is just your average sushi spot. It doesn't really differentiate itself from other places. For example, the spicy bay roll that I got just had a line of sriracha sauce and I was hoping for their own spicy sauce to top it off. The teriyaki was good from what I remembered but again, nothing to really differentiate it from other nearby locations. The service is friendly but they never come back to check on you or refill waters. Even when we were finished, the waitress was watching TV and must have got engrossed in it that she forgot we were there as no take out orders or other customers came in while we were there. They do have a large TV playing sports but no music and the TV was rather quiet. The space is nice but it just felt very dark but we sat next to a window so I could take nice pictures. I think this will be our last visit as there are other locations offer a better dining experience with better service and ambiance.

I ordered the Sushi Regular, which comes with 10 chef-picked Nigiri. Sadly, the only fish on that plate that was super fresh was the Tuna. The Yellowtail was very discolored around the edges, had a slight fishy odor, and tasted like it waz about to go bad. The Super White was not as creamy as it typically would be if fresher, but both were still ok to eat. I ordered a Spicy Scallop hand roll, but what came out was a spicy imitation crab hand roll with a couple tiny pieces of something (hard to tell bcs it was minced.) I sent it back bcs who would pay $8 for imitation crab? I do want to point out that this place is trying to pass off Tilapia as Red Snapper. Tsk tsk. It even says it on the menu. Wow. The Miso soup was typical. The Gyoza was flavorless and overcooked. On a positive note, the Spicy & Spicy roll was fantastic. Service: The server/waitress was amazing! Aside from that, this place can do better. No greeting from the chefs when you walk in. When I asked if they would please give me fresh Yellowtail to add to my order, they stated all they had available was what was in the case. BAD! If you have a saavy customer asking for fresh fish, you make it happen bcs it's your opportunity to make things right! The prices do not match the quality here. I had planned on ordering food to go afterward, but changed my mind. Overall, I may give this place another try at some point bcs everyone has "off" days. 3 stars...the extra star is purely for the outstanding server.
