Pros: -Loved my basic massage. Felt SO good after. -Staff at check in, the pool, the locker room, were very accommodating and friendly. -The view from the pool is from a rooftop looking at Camelback. Really nice. -The food at the pool was pretty good. -Nice amenities in the locker rooms (saunas and such). Cons: -My wife didn't really like her massage and did not feel SO good after. -They lead you in to pick out a special mood rock then, essentially, make a wish on a big crystal before your treatment. It's, just not our thing -The pool outside is small. The photos you see on line are pretty much it. Only benefit to it is it's high up. -All the amenities are in the locker rooms including hot tubs. So no sharing with your spouse unless they are of the same sex -The steam room doesn't really heat up that much. It's hot but the ones at gyms are hotter and they're not at a spa. -The cold deluge is fine. A cold pool to walk into after the sauna is a lot better. Nice place and like the stones placed for your intentions before entering the spa area. The good first the intentions stones you get to pick yourself, the cold water deluge, and OMG the whisper room! A comfy bed to relax and fall asleep in! The bad ...the robes and towels in locker room way too small, the pool way to small if several people there, food and drinks are supposed to be expensive at a spa but come on! 2 salads and 2 drinks over $100.00!!!! ( also we didn't see anywhere except the pool area to eat wherein was wayyyy too hot), the whirlpool was also way too small ( there were 6 people in it and not much room so we had to skip it especially with inconsiderate people not moving over for others to be able to enjoy too!) The " waiting area" for massages couches were in bad shape and the room was super hot (hoping that was a fluke) and room where all the ammenties were was pretty small and cramped.i had a facial and a massage. The female who was to do my facial was late to come get ( felt like maybe i was forgotten even early morning) and then felt had an attitude. The massage though was AMAZING and so well done unfortunately I do not remember his name. He made me feel very comfortable while giving me an amazing massage. Corie did my pedicure this afternoon and honestly it was the best pedicure I've ever had. It was relaxing and my left foot definitely needed a little love today she didn't make me feel embarrassed on the rough part of my foot. My feet after the pedicure look 100% better and feel so moisturized. The receptionist was friendly too when booking the appointment yesterday and I definitely would be back. Each visit to Joya Spa has left me a little less joyful. There should be a limit to how many women they pack into the spa area. At one point they ran out of lockers! My massage with a CBD add on was in excess of $300. Was it a first class experience? No. The pool area is tiny and getting a lounge chair is difficult. Spent the day at the spa this past weekend. The amenities were great. We enjoyed the steam room, jacuzzi, and cold deluge. The rooftop pool was perfect and the drinks were yummy. There was only one server at the pool and service was very slow. Chicken tacos were good, once they arrived. Beautiful spa! Came for a mother/daughter spa day using a Groupon. I think there's always a fear when using a Groupon that you won't get the same treatment but we didn't feel that way at all. We both opted for the 60 min massages and stayed for a few hours to enjoy the terrace pool, lunch, and other amenities. Facilities were super clean, staff members were very nice and accommodating. We came on a Sunday and it was PACKED, def recommend coming during week if schedule allows. The terrace pool is small so with the amount of people it was a bit crowded and we waited for lounge chairs for a while. We had 11am massages and by the time we got there they were already out of lockers and it appeared that half were not functioning. We had to put our stuff in bags that were hid behind the counter - so that was frustrating. We still recommend the spa and really enjoyed ourselves! Came here with the bestie today for some adult time. We both had the 50 minute Swedish massage and lunch on the terrace. Both of our massages were relaxing and just what we needed. I always arrive early to take advantage of the sauna, whirlpool and huge lounges before my services. After the massage we had lunch on the terrace. I had the jalapeño lemonade and we split the tuna tacos. We also each had the hamburger sliders, which were perfect after a relaxing massage, nothing too heavy. It was a beautiful day so we took advantage of the private spa guest only pool and lounge chairs and soaked up the sun for a bit after lunch. I was just here. It's a gorgeous spa with wonderful service. BUT, then I realized that I overpaid for my service. I am a local and should have gotten their special rate but instead I was charged full price. When I went back to the spa for a refund, I was told that I had an upgraded message and was not eligible. But there was NOTHING upgraded about my message, not special. It was good but I received nothing outside of a typical message. I even offered to keep my tip the same, just get a refund on the difference in the service. No dice. This is one of my favorite resorts and spas but I will not return due to this. This is a beautiful spa with world-class features and amenities. The Locker Room provides a secure area for your belongings. You're given a sumptuous robe to wear. Towels, shower caps, razors and shaving cream are provided, along with the lovely scented bath gel, shampoo and conditioner found in dispensers. The vanity area has sitting areas and blow dryers. The Social Room is where you wait for your spa services. Here you will find water, tea and a bowl of fruit to enjoy during your visit. The Whisper Room (relaxation room) is wonderful. Sheers can be drawn to close yourself off from the world as you recline to read, meditate or lay to nap. Soft blankets ensure you're warm. There are ledges to rest a cup of water or your book. Another room contains the steam room, sauna and plunge pool. The sauna wasn't operable during my visit. However, I truly feel this spa offers so much that I couldn't possibly feel that took away enough to downgrade the experience. The Spa Terrace offers some of the best views of Camelback Mountain from its rooftop location. It features a plunge pool, loungers and tables with chairs. There are a few shaded areas that provide a lovely place to enjoy lunch. SPA STRUCTURE/SPACE and AMENITIES: 5 Stars During this visit, I scheduled the Unwind Package. It includes a 50 Minute Swedish Massage, Lunch on the Spa Rooftop Terrace and a 50 Minute Facial. The Massage I received was very good but it wasn't outstanding. My head, face and the base of my skull at the top of my neck were not included. Very little was done to my neck, pecs, hands and feet. I enjoyed the service as it was being given but I didn't feel I walked away with lasting benefits. MASSAGE: 4 Stars The Facial I received was very good. I received more attention to my neck during massage given with this facial than I did during the Swedish Massage. I also walked away with a brighter complexion. The only little thing I noticed is that my eyes absorbed so much product that they were puffy for two days afterward. Not a huge deal and has happened before. At this moment, the puffiness has dissipated and my brighter, less congested skin remains. FACIAL: 4.5 Stars Having lunch on the rooftop terrace was lovely. I sat at a table in a shaded area. I was brought a pitcher of ice water and I ordered the Joya Mezze from the menu. This included a plate of avocado hummus, chipotle hummus, fresh vegetables and marinated olives. It was served with a bowl of plantain chips. I was extremely happy with my choice. The plantain chips were exceptional and both versions of the hummus provided excellent flavor. My only critique is that a few of the vegetables were not as fresh as the others. I was tempted by the frozen grapes. They came at an extra charge of $5 (beyond what was covered in the Unwind Package). A large portion was presented. Unfortunately, they were only partially frozen and still on the stem. They had a good taste, but if I were to have lunch there again, I'd skip ordering them. TERRACE LUNCH 4 Stars FINAL ASSESSMENT: Recommended when you can spend most of, if not, the entire day at the spa. Take the time to enjoy all of the amenities the spa offers. The Hammam ritual is a total rip off. Save your money and just get a massage. The website makes it sound like it is a total experience and I assure you it is not. Any spa guest can do the Hammam ritual, so you are basically over paying for a scrub and a short massage. So I like this spa cuz I like the food at the pool lol. I've been here a few times and I like their amenities. However, this past weekend, every single pool chair was taken and the pool was full of people. I've never seen it that busy. I did notice the crowd seemed younger than normal. No one was acting out, but I was like what is this cuz it isn't normal. Luckily, my friend was staying here so I just went to the regular pool and even they were busier than I expected with multiple cabana party rentals. For lunch, I ordered the salmon, sweet potato tots, fruit plate, and frozen mangos. Everything was delish, but it took a while to get my food and service wasn't as good as normal (I had a girl server and she was nice, but just wasn't as on it as they normally are). Took a little dip in perfect temperature water and in the jacuzzi for a bit before meandering back to the spa area to use the steam room. Except, the steam room wasn't working and I didn't see where to turn it on so I gave up and went to jacuzzi and then dry sauna before showering for my service. I saw NO water bottles and the one drinking water in that room was empty. And I had to go ask for a hair brush. I don't remember this being the case before so I made a comment to the spa attendant that they were hiding everything now and she said yes, they had to because people were taking things! Wow, who are there guests?!?! That didn't used to be the case. I got my pedicure and she was running late and did an okay job. When I checked out, I told the person the issues and she was super apologetic and then offered me a weekday pass to use at my convenience so yay to good customer service. Is this spa overpriced? Probably. Is it worth every damn penny? Definitely. I stayed at the Omni for a girls trip, and we were all looking forward to the spa and booking multiple services..... that is until we saw the prices. Whoa! I could have easily spent the same amount of money at the spa for one day than I did on our suite at the resort for the whole weekend. We were able to add 80 minute services to our room reservation for $190 each, which is 20% off. It was definitely nice to save the money given the expense of the services. However, upon walking in, I quickly realized why the services are more expensive than I'm used to. This place is gorgeous. Easily the best and most beautiful spa I've ever been to. Each inch of the space is carefully thought out and decorated precisely. The front desk receptionist that checked us in gave us a tour of the space. There were some steps that she said were optional - like placing a stone next to a crystal to set an intention and placing your hands on a crystal that changed colors in a room that had stars on the ceiling. However, we were eating it all up, and if it's not your thing you just move on. The women's locker room is full of all kind of amentities you would expect, and the co-ed pool has a great view of Camelback. Ok, now to the good part... My service was amazing. Hands down best spa service I've ever had. I did the White Tea and Ginger body treatment, and I was happy to hear that it was my masseuse's (Angie) favorite service too. She carefully explained the service so I knew each step, and then it was onto 80 minutes of bliss. Angie is SO strong that I couldn't believe this petite girl was the one massaging me! However, I needed the firm pressure after my travels to Scottsdale and it was appreciated. Afterwards my skin was so smooth and felt amazing for the next week. After my treatment I made my way to the pool for lunch (which was my favorite food at the resort) and for more blissful moments sunning in the pool. If I lived in the area, I would easily be there a few times a year. I didn't want to leave. My only complaint is that there was a mix up of the services being charged to both my friend's card (who booked the services and gave her card to hold the appointment) and also to the room on my card. We cleared it up with the resort, and they ended up taking two services we added on later off the bill for the mix up. read more

If you've never experienced a spa where you hang out for a few hours: take a dip in the pool, eat and drink alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages, take a shower, get a massage, then head to the sleeper lounge to take a nap before heading home, then you are definitely missing out!! My hubby and I wanted to do something different to celebrate our one year anniversary so we decided to book a massage at the Joya Spa. When you book, you can enjoy all the amenities above. I wished we came first thing in the morning and stayed til 5p but we only hung out for four hours. That definitely was not enough time to enjoy everything. It was truly relaxation bliss!! Prices are definitely on the high side, but I definitely think you should splurge every once in awhile. The only reason why I give four instead of five is that the day that we came, there were so many people!! We couldn't really enjoy the pool in the spa because there wasn't any room. I've had the luxury of visiting Joya Spa on several occasions. Every visit, I am blown away by how incredible it is to spend time there. I went once before my wedding for a solo spa day and had a massage and a facial; another time, I went with a friend and kept her company while she had a pedicure; I took a yoga class and used the fitness room during my wedding weekend, and most recently, I used a gift card that I was given for the holidays and my mom joined me for the experience... she had a facial and I had a massage. While all of the services I've received have been top notch, it's also the ambiance, decor, customer service, amenities, spiritual details, etc... that make this an incredible destination. The scents used in the spa, massage oil, lotions, and potions are created specifically by the Montelucia's alchemist... every details is covered at the Joya Spa. I also love the special chocolate that is given to you after your services, the beds in the whisper room, the snacks in the waiting room, and the fortune / quote that is given to you as well. Most recently, my quote read "The little things? The little moments? They aren't little." (Jon Kabat-Zinn) - So true. I am so sad to have to write this review. My boyfriend and I visited here for spa week yesterday and were really disappointed. Having stayed at the Montelucia as a hotel guest and an occasional lunch and dinner, I knew we could expect five star service, food and amenities and I was really excited to try this spa. When I saw it was having a spa week special for $79 for an 50min massage, I jumped on the opportunity! Unfortunately, the Joya spa didn't live up to my expectations. Booking over the phone was easy and I called prior to our massages to see if we would have access to the main pool post massage and to see if my bf and I could have a couples massage with the special. Unfortunately, they couldn't accomodate us as a couple and 'spa only' guests aren't allowed to the main pool but we did have access to the spa rooftop pool. After looking at pictures and reading reviews, I was still excited. Upon entering the spa, we checked in with a smile-less hostest. The checkin area had two other guests so I was hopeful that spa week, on a Monday at 1pm was slow and we could get the full experience. My bf and I and another guest were led up the stairs and given the tour. As a few have said, there are a few hokey parts about this spa. I love crystals as much as the next person but the whole ceremony where you pick your stone and then put your hand on the bigger crystal to say some sort of wish or prayer seemed a bit...well....cheesy...I could tell my bf just wanted to laugh but we went along with it. I'm all for trying something if it'll get me in a zen mental zone and relaxed. Around the corner, my bf and I were seperated into our own locker rooms. This normally is the case at spas but it would have been nice to get a little extra instruction on how to meet back up once our treatments were over. They swept us off into opposite directions so we had to coordinate via text. Cell phone signals weren't the best either so if you go with a partner, make sure you have a plan beforehand. The facilities are nice and I liked having my own personal locker with keycode. The spa was pretty busy with spa week though and as someone else mentioned, it definitely had more of a vibe of 'girls time' rather than 'relax time'. Waiting in the 'social' room for my services definitely felt more social than relaxing. My therapist Joel came to get me 5 minutes after my scheduled 1pm appointment. Joel took me back to the treatment room and the room was pretty uninspired. Dark, a mirror on the wall and I think a small table with some water. When we went through the usual 'What do you want in your massage,' I mentioned that I had a headache to which he responded something like, 'Who know's what could have caused it' and it was quickly dismissed. I was just going to ask for a little extra neck attention but he didn't seem interested? He left the room for all of 45 seconds but luckily I usually hurry to get on the bed so he didn't catch me mid-table-mount. LOL Now for the massage...I'm sorry but this was the WORST massage I've ever had. It was uninspired, never felt like he was in the right area and a few of the techniques I wanted to laugh. He pulled the foot rest out from under me without supporting my legs, wiped my hands with hot towels and left them dangling off the side of the bed, ran into the chair several times in the corner and gave a very awkward, 10 second head massage at the end. I don't know if he was brought in to help with the busy week but its suffice to say I was glad it was over after 50 minutes. When I finally met back up with my bf, he informed me that his massage was terrible too and that he was cut short 10 minutes from his massage. Lucky him! Besides the disastrous massages, we had decided that we were going to have lunch poolside and luckily we were able to get chaise loungers right by the pool that were comfy. Service was slow and my turkey burger was pretty bland. I was served my salad in a bowl where the sealant was coming off. I don't think I ate any of it but it was a little shocking to see once I finished my salad and noticed it. The view of Camelback is nice but I would have perferred the main pool with its sprawling views of the mountain and resort. Upon check out I had been expecting the 20% additional tip included so I asked Carlos to adjust it accordingly. When he asked why, we told him that our services were not in line with 20% and that we didn't like our massages. He just said 'Okay'. Other staff members were behind the desk and didn't seem to care either and we paid for our massages. He added too much for the tip for my bf's treatment but at that point, the extra $1 didn't matter and we wanted to get the hell out of there. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is that I know what the Montelucia is capable of and for the atmosphere of the resort as a whole. Maybe we just had a bad experience because of spa week? Nice beautiful quiet spa! My friend had told me about the Joya Spa a while ago, and I was so excited to go for a facial. Like many other spas, you can use the facilities on the day of your appointment, before/after. Location: This is off Lincoln Drive, a beautiful area of the valley. The views from the upstairs pool are quite nice. Parking: Free in an underground garage. Amenities: The spa has typical spa goods, the slippers, robe, towels, etc., plus soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. There were numerous various waters around, including grapefruit-enhanced, lemon, and cucumber (separate), plus fruit in bowls here and there. The Whisper room/napping room was a dream! However, these women were "loud whispering" which kept me up the entire time. The nap room has individual beds with Tempur-Pedic® mattresses. However the napping room is where the staff members walk through with guests for the treatment rooms - kind of annoying. The spa includes a sauna, hot tub, cold water deluge, and a resting room with heated stones ( I think? They didn't seem heated). Pool: If you are a spa guest only, the upstairs pool is your only option. The hotel has other pools, but spa guests can only use the top pool. This pool was OK but pretty small. Also, the pool is very thick with chlorine, which is to be expected for a public pool, but wow! It is strong. My hair is dry and smells of chlorine even after two washes, and I was not even in the pool that long. Staff: Some of the staff were pretty friendly. Others were OK. The server at the pool was super attentive, friendly and nice. She brought us all ice waters and was quick with serving and cleaning up as well. Food: While at the pool, I ordered the smoked coconut club which includes grilled flavored tofu, veggies, and more. It was pretty good, but I likely would not order it again. They had interesting options, like salmon salad, salads, but other foods too. Services: I had a facial (unsure which one). It was an excellent experience. I joined my sister to celebrate her birthday at The Joya Spa. I purchased a Groupon to receive a discount on a massage as well as participate in a fitness class. When we arrived at the facility, there was immediate confusion. I wanted to attend a yoga class at 10:30 (arrived at 10:23) and the direction I was given was extremely confusing. They wanted to give me a tour, then said well wait we don't have time for that. Then they told me to leave all my stuff in a closet and get to the yoga class?!?! No thank you. Then I asked about a locker at which point they said "OH OK I guess we could do that" and I was escorted to a locker. I then ended up entering the yoga class late, which was awkward. The yoga class was a little frustrating. The instructor talked a lot. Would tell you to do a pose and then do this, or that, or this, or that....very hard to follow. At one point, I just started to do my own thing and try to tune her out. After the yoga class, I returned back to the social lounge (or whatever it's called) to wait for my sister whose massage would be ending soon. The lounge was crowded with butt to butt women all talking at the same time. There was no where to sit so I stood there for about 15 minutes before I decided I couldn't take it anymore and then went in to the locker room. The locker room was also very crowded. At one point a woman walked up next to me, and closed my locker door in my face to get to her locker! She didn't even say excuse me! I was appalled! Eventually I met back up with my sister, we had a snack and then I returned to the crowded locker room to get ready for my massage. I waited again in the crowded lounge area all the while thinking "This is the most un-relaxing spa experience I've ever had in my life". What a shame too because this spa has so much potential and is so beautiful. I was looking forward to my massage, which I had committed to pay extra for a deep tissue but, that too was disappointing. It was NOT deep tissue, just a woman rubbing me very fast all over my body. Slightly relaxing but I wouldn't say it was a "good" massage. Definitely not worth the money I paid for it. I never did get my tour. Never got to do the crystal/rock thing that I read about online. Even witnessed a guy walk in and grab a handful of stones and just literally throw them around! How disrespectful! The patrons here were all rude, snobby and disrespectful and this place was way too crowded for a relaxing spa experience. Even the whisper room was full of super chatty women. I came in to the Joya Salon and made an appointment for a Polish Change since the manicure I had gotten the day before did not last and my polish was already coming off. Rebbecca (Becky) was my Nail Technician, she was really nice, offered me Ice Tea which was Delicious Hibiscus Raspberry (China Mist). The Salon was very nice and relaxing. Once I decided on a color she took care of my nails, did an excellent job and they are still looking pretty after 3 days. The spa/salon offers a 15% discount on all services to local residences. Upon checkout I realized I was charged for a Petite Manicure, no wonder I got a little massage and the whole works. My service was excellent, however, when I made the appointment for a polish change I feel I should have been told "we do not offer only polish change, however we do a petite manicure...." Like I said I had a manicure the day before I didn't need another one I just wanted my nails painted and that would have been nice to know. I enjoyed my visit though and can't wait to return to try some other services. read more

** Be sure to call and ask for that day's special! ** One of the best spa experiences I've had. The spa is absolutely gorgeous. The equipment is top of the line - No more lockers with a key dangling around your wrist, they use a digital lock system. The fitness center has the latest gym equipment and every treadmill, elliptical and bike machine has its own TV with headphones. No more pillow beneath the legs on the massage table. Their massage tables didn't just raise and lower mechanically, it BENT to give lower back support. Their service is also stellar. I hate when I ask for deep tissue and I never get enough pressure. My massage therapist gave just enough so I didn't have to cry, "Uncle!" I left in a trance and was sad when it was over. I also fell in love with the tunics that the staff wears as a uniform. Found out that they don't carry them in their spa shop, but you could order them. They took down my information and said they would contact me. I suppose they wouldn't want me walking around the property looking like a staff person, otherwise I'd sneak in there all the time! It's that magnificent. read more

Joya provides pure relaxation in a serene, Morrocan inspired atmosphere. With any spa purchase, you are invited to indulge in the spa's whirlpool, sauna, relaxation lounge, outside pool, and steam room. While the decor itself is lush and exotic, I have to admit that I've been spoiled by the amenities at Qua Spa in Vegas so the steam room and whirlpool, while nice, don't hold a candle to Qua. The massage itself was good. The massage therapist was very attentive and applied the exact amount of pressure I had asked for. After a day of using the spa and getting a massage, I was feeling pretty good for the rest of the day! read more

Went here this week with my husband to celebrate our anniversary! We booked a couple's massage, relaxed in the spa area, hung out at the pool, and stayed at the resort that night. We purchased a Travel Zoo voucher that included a massage with aromatherapy and a glass of champagne. I made the mistake of booking our massages for 11am, which was a against my better judgment since I am NOT a morning person. So instead of getting there at least an hour before to really relax and enjoy as I intended, we got there only about 25 min before. This started our experience off on a somewhat rushed note, which again was totally our own fault. Since we hung out at the spa all day, in retrospect I would have done our services at the end of the day. The ladies at the desk who checked us in and gave us a tour were not very friendly and made me feel more rushed/stressed as the tour of the facilities proceeded at lightning speed. We changed into our super comfy robes and waited for our massage therapists! This was the first time either of us had had a massage. My massage was just okay. The girl I had asked me if I had any areas I would like her to focus on and I told her my legs/feet. However, she spent the majority of the time on my upper body with minimal time on my lower body. My husband also mentioned that he loved when his therapist massaged his face, temples, etc. But mine didn't do that at all... Oh well, I'm sure everyone is different. Also, they never brought up the choice of aromatherapy included in the package and I forgot until after. The spa itself was amazing!! I would go back just to use the steam room, sauna, cold deluge, whirlpool, and whisper room over the massage itself! The cold deluge and couples' whisper room were my favorites! It was such a relaxing day. Although the majority of the spa is split into men and women, which kind of limited our time together. We also went to the spa pool which has gorgeous views, delicious and healthy food, and yummy drinks! I can't wait to go back, if only we could afford it! I was just thinking of calling to make a massage appointment for a birthday gift to myself and realized I need to make a review! This is the best spa in the valley! Granted I've only been here twice but there is no where else I would want to go. Both times I've been its clear there are many locals who are regulars here. Now its a bit pricey but in the end I think its worth it. If you are getting a service I recommend coming earlier that way you have all day to enjoy the amenities. The service right from the start is friendly and welcoming. The ambience here is really relaxing and fun. You feel like you are in Morocco and on a vacation Everything is clean. The spa pool has a great view of Camelback mountain. The food and drinks at the spa pool is so good too! I brought a friend with me from Chicago last time I was here and she was SO impressed with the entire experience! Oh and also I've been here for a prenatal massage which was great too. Here is a Spa which is supposed to be one of the top in the world and after paying crazy money the least you can expect is a relaxing day without any issues. Quite the opposite of that. After the couples massage the therapists (Colleen and Veronica) told us to relax and get ready. Literally TWO minutes after leaving the room, while we are getting ready, we hear a knock and these untrained/inexperienced ladies walk in on both of us naked AND after we told them to please give us a second they STILL stood there for a good 5 seconds. They acted like a cheap Chinese massage parlor. Front desk ignored it like there was no issue. Would avoid giving them the business if you want to be treated respectfully. read more

Absolutely loved this place. The facilities were awesome (my favorite was the steam room / cold deluge), the spa lunch was delicious, and staff were great. I was that person who locked myself out of my locker and they were super awesome about it and had me back in in less than 5 minutes. I got the coconut crush body scrub which left my skin feeling amazing. Given more time (is there ever enough time at a spa?!) I would have loved to take a nap in the whisper room with their luxurious beds. We also used the fitness room, which had wonderful, clean machines. Definitely a bigger space with more than I was expecting. Only slight complaint was that the spa pool was definitely warmer than the 85 degrees we were told it was - but honestly was still great.
