We came here for dinner and the restaurant was decently busy. What is depressing is that the entire plaza is so barren and sad. There's no coziness to the place. There is a parking structure connected to the plaza which allows for 2 hours of free parking; you still have to go to the machine to get a ticket to place on your dash though. We ordered a bunch of things and while the portion sizes are great, I thought the taste was decent. What was disappointing was that the temperature of the foods didn't come out very warm. It was as if the food had been sitting out for a while and then finally served to us. You can't go wrong with your typical Chinese dishes like fried rice, chow fun, honey walnut shrimp and Mongolian beef. Out of all of the dishes, nothing really stuck out to me as amazing. This place is just very average. The restaurant itself is huge so if you're looking to have a restaurant host a huge gathering for you, I'd say this place can definitely cater your parties needs. I have always seen this restaurant at the edge of Chinatown but have never tried the food. There is a lot attached to the establishment with 2-hours of free parking. Recently we attended a banquet at this establishment and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We were seated in the ballroom with over a hundred people to enjoy nine courses. The fish soup came out piping out followed quickly by a char siu fried chicken plate which was crispy and delicious. The steamed prawns were huge and fresh. The steamed fish with delectable white flakey texture. The ginger chicken was cold and not over cooked. Fried pork chop was crispy and addicting. Peking duck with white steamed buns and hoisin sauce was definitely a table favorite because of the crispy texture of the skin. The fried rice at the end was almost overwhelmingly too much. The ending mango pudding with a splash of cold condensed milk was enjoyed by all. The food was very good and we are so glad we were able to enjoy so many dishes that were cooked so well! read more

Our go to spot for dim sum! Huge restaurant so we have never had to wait. You can also reserve tables if needed. They have a great selection of dim sum and still do the push carts which is fun! Quality of the food is definitely good. Complimentary tea, great hot sauce (not sriracha but the chili oil sauce which is much better for dim sum) quick seating what else can you ask for? Parking is complimentary in the attached garage. You bring the check up to the front for payment which is nice. If there is a dish you haven't seen around the carts you can ask for it and they will bring it to you. Can also order off the menu although we rarely ever do that - the dimsum selection is more than enough! They also recently started having some drinks - like mango sago I think - on the carts. Another nice point is that due to the size is the restaurant no issues with bringing a stroller if you need! Definitely recommend this place for dim sum! read more

I've been coming to Joyale more frequently since it's so close to home, and there's normally no wait on the weekends. The portion sizes here are fairly generous, and they have quite the selection of food. My favorites (as always) are tripe, chicken feet, siumai, sticky rice, and bean curd from the steamed carts. Plus, they have their own covered parking lot with free 2 hour parking! Definitely beats the long waits at other dim sum restaurants in Chinatown... especially on a busy Sunday morning. The only thing is that sometimes the food on the carts are cold. Sometimes we'll be sitting for 5-10 minutes waiting for a cart to come our way. So efficient that they threw away my wedding knife set and wedding flute. I wouldn't mind if I bought them myself. But they were my wedding gifts from my very good friends. Bathroom could use a lot of cleaning. All my guests complained how dirty it was. Wet floor.those with long dress had to lift it up. Decorates: the backdrop looks like it was half done. I'm so confused. Came here for Saturday morning dim sum. We frequently go here because parking is easy. But anyway... I don't know what happened. But all of a sudden the customer service is on point. Everyone is so nice and they keep your tea pot full and remove empty trays quickly. The food has also gotten better. I probably previously had a low bar but man this place has gotten a lot better. I have tried to like this food four times. I LOVE the massage place across the way and it would so be my go to Chinese restaurant after my weekly massage. I think i haven't given up on this restaurant despite being so utterly disappointed every time, because I have fond memories of the restaurant that use to be here, Hong Kong II. Hong Kong II was delicious. However, this restaurant now in their old space has the most plain , flavorless food. Worst of all are dishes with pork. Pork here comes out like the texture of a CROQ sandal that's been continuously inhabited by a sweaty foot for at least a week. Service and prices are very good. Decor has been updated quite a bit from the more tired Hong Kong II setup. Still, food couldn't be more terrible! It is so bland and flavorless and it all comes out at once rather than in courses. I have thrown away at least 200.00 in food I purchased here.You know food is bad when you can't even eat it with multiple packets of soy sauce. I have to admit however, that i don't eat seafood and that seems to be their specialty. For sure, the most exciting thing about this restaurant are the ENORMOUS alien crabs in their fish tanks that look like they are primed to unscrew their air filters, climb out onto the floor and take over the World. Last month, I visited Orange County and attended a Yelp event meeting Elites from the LA/OC area. One of them was Philip M. who mentioned he was headed to Seattle for a weekend a couple weeks later. He asked if I wanted to meet up for dim sum, so I joined him in trying out this new dim sum restaurant that replaced New Hong Kong Restaurant at Pacific Rim Center. I dined a long time ago here when this was still New Hong Kong Restaurant. Upon entering, my thoughts were that the restaurant is just as big as it was before though it does look like it has been refurbished a bit and looking a bit brighter. The restaurant has two dining rooms and is spacious enough to accommodate a banquet. Got here a little before 10 am which is when they open. The doors were already open and people were already seating at tables, though the dim sum carts hadn't come out yet. When the dim sum carts started to move about the dining room, the selection was on the meager side. Some standards like shrimp dumplings (har gau) weren't available yet. I agree with Philip's recommendation to come around 10:30-11:00 am for a better selection. The dim sum here is full of the standard dishes that you find everywhere. There were also some unusual offerings like a jellyfish appetizer and plates of chow mein. The latter one I find more unusual than the jellyfish. Who orders lukewarm chow mein? We got 8 dishes here. I thought the dim sum here was actually pretty good. I do want to say that assessment is based on my perception that dim sum in Seattle is just alright. Of the dishes that we got, I would say my favorites are the beef balls, fried pork dumplings (ham sui gok) and sticky rice dumplings. The baked BBQ pork buns were good too, though the glaze on top was really sticky. The one dish that disappointed was the shrimp dumplings (har gau). We waited half hour for these, asking many times for this dish so when it finally did arrive it was underwhelming. The dumplings were the smallest that I have seen of this dish anywhere. As for the service, I thought it was pretty good for a dim sum restaurant. The dim sum carts did seem to come around a lot, which might be a bit annoying if you are trying to have a serious conversation. The most popular dim sum restaurants in the I-D are Harbor City and Jade Garden. Based on my dining experience, I feel like the dim sum here is on par with those restaurants, except that you don't have to wait (long) here for a table because of the size of this restaurant. Joyale also has a parking lot available downstairs, unlike Harbor City and Jade Garden which is strictly street parking. If you are looking for an alternative to those two restaurants, Joyale is a very capable choice. read more

Came here for the first stop of a UYE "Bang Bang", good choice to start off the day with some dim sum. I've actually never been to the Pacific Rim building before, so this was my first time coming here. Easy to get to by bus, trolley or if you drive, there is a parking garage too. Place is pretty huge, seems like a lot of people come here with big groups for receptions, rehearsals, family events etc. As usual, tea is served as the steam carts approach you. If you don't speak Chinese, just use the universal language of pointing to whatever you want from the cart. We ordered this and that and got a bunch of stuff to try. Shrimp balls were ok, not as big as some other places but weren't bad. Rice Rolls were pretty good, especially the one wrapped around the Chinese donut. Chicken feets, short ribs, tripe, siu mai, chinese broccoli, turnip cakes, fried tofu wraps, steamed tofu wraps, rice in banana leaf, the "football".....I could go on, we got a lot of stuff. It was all pretty good. We weren't high maintenance so we didn't need much attention, but they were fairly timely on refilling the teapot and clearing out the empty dishes etc. Staff was fine, no issues there and were initially friendly when waiting up front. Overall, I had a great dim sum session with some fellow Yelpers and would totally come back. read more

I will preface this review by saying that this was a delivery order and while some of my complains may or may not be due to my items being delivered, I still don't think I would have had a great experience if I had gone to the restaurant in person. I ordered a General Tso's Chicken and a House Special Fried Rice through Doordash after a long day and it got promptly delivered to my hotel. When I opened up the General Tso's Chicken, it looked as if someone just poured a cup of water on it. The pieces of chicken on top were still reasonably crispy and enjoyable but the bottom pieces were just sitting in a pool of water. As you may be able to tell in the photo, everything was very wet. I'll chalk it up to condensation but I fail to believe that was the only cause. The House Special Fried Rice I ordered was missing and in its place was a seafood noodle dish. I assume they were pan fried noodles that wimped out by the time they were delivered so they ended up being extremely greasy and unpalatable. The worst part of the meal was that I ended up biting into a few pieces of chicken that literally hurt my teeth due to them being so hard and dry, like they were refried last weeks leftovers. I've attached a photo of that as well. Overall, a pretty unpleasant meal that I ended up throwing out most of (and that's not something I tend to do). I'd be willing to give this place another try when I'm in town and in the mood for Chinese though I'll be sure to go in person when I do. read more

Ordered a few dishes to go on thanksgiving, salted chicken fried rice and beef chow fun no favors, free range chicken no what I've expected and it didn't taste good. Hot and sour soup was way too much cornstarch. We have ordered from here a few weeks ago and everything tasted better. It saddens me that there are very few places in the ID that still has good dim sum. Joyale is okay, not great. I've been here several times. The place is huge and a decent place if you have a lot of people to feed like Birthday parties, funerals, etc. I mostly come here with a smaller group when I can't find parking or other restaurants are too full. Today I came here with just my son. We came after church so it is fairly close. I actually wanted to go to another place, but after driving around & around we decided to find something else & ended up here. Like I said earlier, it's just okay. They don't have soup dumplings, and their food has too much animal protein. Some foods don't taste as fresh as they should be, more like it's been sitting on the steam carts longer than they should be. I was home for a visit and wanted to throw a family dinner so I'd get to see everyone - well.. Chinese family dinners mean a whole lot of people in my family and by a whole lot, I mean like almost 30 and that's not everyone. This was the only place I could think of where I could make reservations for 3 big tables of 10! Their sister location, Joy Palace, was booked for a wedding that night. Joyale is owned by the sister of the owner of Joy Palace, so the food/menu are similar. I can see how people would think their staff is rude though - the lady that answered my call for reservations was a bit brash and not the friendliest. We came and enjoyed the food.. each table ordered separate menus cause I didn't like the pre-fixed family meals. Our table had: *honey walnut prawns - good, drenched in mayo and sweet walnut prawns. They were crispy and exactly what we wanted, though the plate was small and we each had maybe 1-2 prawns for a table of 10. *Peking Duck - whole duck served with green onions and hoisin sauce with a bun! Yummy! My piece of duck wasn't as crispy as I'd like but it was good nonetheless. *Ong Choy with Fermented Bean Curd - they used some large Ong Choy stalks in this dish! I thought it needed more flavor and bean curd and was a bit on the bland side. But the garlic sauce was flavorful on our Chinese broccoli! *Sweet and Sour Pork - perfectly crispy pork pieces drenched in a wonderful sweet and sour sauce! Delish! *Hot and Sour Soup - this was loaded with tofu and mushrooms and definitely had a spicy kick! Thumbs up for sure! *Fresh Spotted Prawns served blanched with a sauce on the side - my favorite! Prawns with the heads on! Served blanched so that it'll retain the flavor of the sweet prawn! My favorite! *Clams with Black Bean Sauce - my least favorite dish of the night, probably cause the clams didn't taste fresh and was a bit mushy.. *Salted Fish Fried Rice with Chicken - definitely a simple pleasure and by simple, I mean barely anything but eggs and small bits of salted fish! So if you like salted fish, it's yummy! I forget what else we ordered but we killed every single dish that came! The food came at a good pace, though the service was a bit slow clearing the empty dishes! We were given individual sized mango pudding for dessert! Myself and 2 friends had no wait for a Saturday 1130am lunch. The Dim Sum was very very good. Hot and steaming with a nice variety of selections. Every dish we had was delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive. Really good tea as well. We dis not get to try any of the desserts as we stuffed ourselves, but I intend to return very soon, as they looked good as well. Having a free 2 hour parking garage was very helpful as well. Elevator worked fine for us. We spent $90, so $30 each. Not bad, really, as we ate a lot. Definitely a new fave. read more

This place was recommended to me by my friend who claims its the best Dim Sum restaurant in Seattle, and I had to give it a try. This restaurant is a little more hidden, as its inside Pacific Rim Center. The nice part is the parking garage has free 2 hour parking! I came here at 10:30am on a sunday and to my surprise, there was NO LINE?! Such glorious blessing for dim sum, I was a little worried that the food was going to be meh as no line in peak hours does raise a red flag. Luckily, the restaurant was filled with asians, and it filled up very quickly after I got seated. And this restaurant is also quite massive. In terms of dim sum, this place fares up against harbor city & jade garden just fine, without the line and the snappy service. It felt so offputting that the servers were all so nice and patient, but I'm fine with it. The food quality was on par, if anything slightly better than other dim sum joints around seattle. The pricing was very fair as well. I did notice that they provided a thermal of hot water on the table, so you can refill your tea when it runs out, a nice perk. Overall, this underrated gem was a fantastic find. Easy parking, shorter wait, great quality food & pricing. Finally, an alternative dim sum option that rivals Top Gun Seafood. This restaurant is located on the second floor of the Pacific Rim shopping center in Chinatown. Note that free parking is provided for up to two hours. The inside is huge and easily seats more than 50 tables. Therefore, the wait is not too long, despite the seemingly long line out the door. The food quality is decent but not top-notch. The carts also come around fast with plenty of options. Overall, this is a good place to have dim sum in the Seattle area. read more

Cantonese seafood and dimsum restaurant located in the Pacific Rim Center on Jackson St. in Seattle's Chinatown/International District. It's one of the few restaurants in the area that has free parking, but heard it can fill up during weekend dimsum hours. It's a very spacious restaurant, with somewhat dated decor. Went there for dinner and the place wasn't busy, but might have been due to weather reasons. Got the fish stomach and crab meat soup. Usually soup is served first, but for some reason they brought this out after two dishes have been served. The good thing was the price of the soup was on the low side, but it definitely had the fishy taste and was palatable only with addition of red vinegar. For mains, we got a scallion and ginger stir fry lobster, and that was okay. Also got a steamed tilapia which tasted pretty decent, but actually cost about as much as the lobster! The price was a little steep for tilapia. We also ordered stir-fried yu choy sprouts, and that was good. The veggies had good flavor from the minced garlic, and they also gave plenty of it. For starch, we got the stir-fried glutinous rice, and that was decent enough. For the complimentary dessert, they served mango pudding which were okay. Overall, an okay meal. Definitely could get a better meal elsewhere for $50 a person. read more

This is my go-to dim sum restaurant in Seattle. It's great because you don't have to fight for street parking (customers get free 2 hour parking in the garage). The food is pretty good as well. This is a cart-style dim sum restaurant. Service can be a bit slow, which is understandable for a restaurant as large as Joyale. Sometimes they limit how many plates you can get from each dish. Nevertheless, it's good good and quite cheap! read more

Dim Sum!! Coming from San Antonio, we only have 1 restaurant that serves Dim Sum so I was really excited to check it out here in Seattle. We came on a Sunday after 12 and were seated right away. I loved seeing so many large groups and families enjoying their food together. As the carts come around it can be very tempting to order everything but I liked that each cart that came to our table seemed to offer something different or new. My favorites were the sesame ball with red bean, the "football" - a deep fried sticky puff of awesomeness, egg custard bun, and the steamed chive dumpling with shrimp. I like that the ladies cut up most of the food items for you, which is perfect for sharing. Given our experience I would like to come back to try more! read more

We ordered our waters and our waitress brought out the cart of food! We've had dim sum before but not the traditional cart so we were excited. We didn't really care to try others from the cart as our waitress kept coming by - I know we should've, but we were hooked on our go-to items!! Overall experience was good! HUGE venue. In fact, the first time I went there was a wedding reception in one half of the restaurant. The staff were apologetic for the chaos, but I thought the crowd and offpitch karaoke added to the ambiance. Growing up eating at Chinese restaurants, there was a familiarity to everything; from the layer of mystery grease on the table to the disinterest of the staff. Signs of good eatin' to come, as odd as that sounds. I ordered some of my favorites: Salt and Pepper Crispy Prawns, Orange Beef, and Black Bean StirFried Clams. HUGE portions. Everything came out just as I expected; hot and delicious. And the prices were cheaper than other notable venues around ID. If there is room for improvement, it'd be on the venue. A relatively sHirt 25 minute wait and we were seated and I immediately served tea and several dishes... each was better than the last. I recall honey walnut shrimp... sho mai (forgive my spelling) and the most amazing sticky rice w sausagee served in a grape leaf). OMG this was the best dish of the day! Good dim sum fast service. About 25% pricier than their competition but they offer more higher end selections. Food is moderately fresh. Only complaint is siu mai is dense, and has a strong porky odor, rather larger in size and more unfamiliar in taste and texture to me. We had such a great experience at Joyale on a Friday night, starting with not having to search everywhere in the ID for street parking since there's a parking garage here.
