    ...SOOOO much!

My wife and I recently moved from Jackson Heights, Queens (NYC) to Poughkeepsie. JP Urban Moving was recommended by a good friend and I gotta say, the process was very friendly and seamless from the get-go. They have terrific communication and worked with us when we had to delay the move from Dec 2024 to Jan 2025. We packed our 2BR and Miguel's team of four showed up earlier than the 9am start time. They hit the ground running and it was like a whirlwind, they worked so fast and so diligently. All with a terrific attitude and smile throughout the day and into the evening when they finished up in Poughkeepsie after 7pm. Their pricing is totally fair, and we have lined them up for further moves (next one later in the year moving our studio from DUMBO, Brooklyn, up to Newburgh, NY). We would give them 10 stars if Yelp let us! I'm serious: we LOVED working with them. My wife and I are 60 years old and have moved probably nine times in the past 30 years...and OMG these guys were THE BEST of all of our moves. I literally cannot gush enough. Proof is in the pudding that JP treats their workers well, too -- Miguel has been with them for 10 years. 'Nuff said! Thank you Julia & John at JP Urban Moving!!

Moving out of Brooklyn is always daunting, and it's been 7 years since my last move so I was on the market for new movers. I did some research and compared quotes, ultimately went with JP because their forms were easy to fill out, their team responsive, and their prices fair. They scheduled with me quickly, checked in about COIs, and gave me a ton of information to help me prep for my move. They confirmed the move date and time a few times in the lead up which gave me a lot of confidence in JP. On moving day, they showed up exactly on time. It was a team of 4 guys led by Axel, the team leader, who was extremely communicative, friendly, and organized. He asked me questions at every stage to make sure they were following whatever plan I had in my head. They carefully deconstructed, wrapped, and moved all of my furniture, art, electronics - it was incredible to watch. Such an organized and professional team. They arrived at the next location on Long Island (about a 1 hour drive away) right on time. They were quick and courteous unloading the truck and were happy to help removing any items that were leaving the Long Island house. That was a HUGE help as we were getting rid of a bed and a heavy treadmill - they easily walked those items right out for us. I was dreading this move, and JP Urban Moving, Axel and the team made it so smooth. We were done in 6.25 hours and I saved 5% by paying cash. I made sure to tip the guys for all of their hard work moving me on a hot summer day. THANK YOU JP URBAN MOVING! Next time I move I know who to call.

Hire these guys immediately for your move! My husband and I cannot recommend this company enough. We have moved 4 times over the last 6 years and have had terrible experiences with other companies from being late, overcharging for services NOT rendered, not communicative, and disrespectful to our belongings. JP Urban Moving was by far the best experience we've ever had. The guys showed up on time, read our notes and came prepared with supplies and dollies for the stairs, were respectful of all our precious belongings, hustled to stay within the allotted time, wrapped everything and even put together our couch, beds, entertainment console, shelving units and dining room table and got done early! They were friendly and helpful, had great communication and the price was right! Don't be fooled by other companies with their gimmicks and cute logos. Go with the professionals and hire JP Urban Moving!

Moving in NYC is no joke--especially when you're coming from a 6-floor walk-up. I recently moved out of my first New York apartment, and I genuinely don't know what I would've done without Marco's team from JP Urban Moving. They were beyond professional, kind, and incredibly efficient. They packed up everything for me--kitchen, bedroom, bathroom--you name it. I didn't have to lift a finger. What really blew me away was how they handled the stairs like it was nothing. I struggle just getting groceries up those steps, so watching them work was seriously impressive. They had the best energy all day, and made what could've been a super stressful move feel easy and even enjoyable. If you're moving in New York, do yourself a favor and hire this team!!! They saved me so much time, stress, and back pain. JP Urban Moving handling my broken marble top with TLC.
    Katherine K.

JP URBAN MOVING is just wonderful! Dumbo Movers moved us out of our apartment. BAD choice! They broke the 6-foot marble dresser top into 3 pieces (they also "lost" its wall mirror and broke the glass tops to 2 small tables). We are suing them. We hired JP URBAN MOVING to transport the broken marble top to the repair facility. The movers were professional, on-time and efficient - and aghast at what Dumbo had done. They treated my poor marble top with great care. We hired them to take it to the facility, and then to return it to us once it was miraculously repaired. (Shout out to American Marble & Stoneworks, Inc. in Weehawken, NJ. Theo is an artisan & magician!) The JP office was efficient, friendly and responded quickly. Chris kept us apprised of the progress on the moving days. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced and trustworthy moving company, choose JP URBAN MOVING.

Summary: + good price…read more+ fast and overall fine service + overall nice workers - poor communication - some unprofessionalism - some damages I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately landed on 3. I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. If you're reading reviews because you're planning a move and trying to make the best decision possible, I hope this helps. Wishing you the best of luck!

We have moved multiple times in east cost always use the same mover from NY. This time thought of trying a NJ based mover. Here are the issues 1.Lack of professional behavior. They came inside saw that entryway table had a few bills picked them up asked me which currency it is. 2. One of the kitchen packers opens lid of my spice box (I had leaves and chillies puts his nose in sniffs and asks what is it? 3. Packed every little thing in white wrapper so unpacking was hell. When vector gave me a quote it included 10 medium boxes $20 per box but the guys packed everything with white wrapper in kitten not one but 4 sheets and increased boxes packed to 30 , unethically charging us for small boxes stuffed with white paper. After talking to them, I knew I wanted to go with them. Their customer service, attention to details, and organization are 5-star levels. One thing that really stood out to me was that instead of asking me how many boxes I need, they asked me to send them pics of my place and stuff, and they calculated the number of small, medium and large boxes I need. It's so easy to underestimate and get a different price at the end. Also, I know I wanted packers because its speeds up the entire process of moving and settling in. I'm so glad I did with Roadway. It usually takes me over half a week to pack and be stressed for over a week, but Diego and his 3 teammates packed up our studio in 2-3 hours. They're so professional. They moved so quickly with care and accuracy. Most importantly, all my kitchen appliances were wrapped with care and delivered and arrived to my new apartment in the same condition. It took us about 2 hrs to settle in, and they once again unpacked most of the furnitures and reassembled them, making me feel settled in and relaxed. I cannot thank their team enough.
