Joseph was recommended to my by my piano tuner of 30 years and I couldn't be happier! Joseph and his JPX crew were awesome. They gave me a window of 0900 -1100 and promised to call half-hour before arrival. I pleasantly surprised to receive a call this morning at 0830 indicating they'd arrive at 0900. Joseph was very professional and clearly knows what he's doing. He surveyed the logistics, came up with a plan and then helped my wife move a few items (I'm handicap) and they were off. My Steinway baby grand was meticulously disassembled for the move with each piece being carefully wrapped in movers blankets. They carefully loaded the piano onto the truck and delivered a couple miles down the road to the new location. JPX then reversed the process carefully unloading each piece and, after helping me move a few small pieces of furniture in the new location, carefully placed the piano in its new place. Significantly, there are dark cherry wood floors in the new location. Without being told, Joseph laid down blanket for the trip from the door to the spot and then carefully used the blankets under each leg to ensure the floor - and the piano -- were protected. They just left and I couldn't be more happy with the service provided by JPX. They were not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. The team at JPX are life savers. I'm a full-time piano instructor with a studio of 80+ students and had to change studios. It was a logistical nightmare moving two pianos at different locations (with one on a second floor) into the same location and all this had to be done on a weekend so as to not interrupt my business. I called around a few spots and (understandably) learned that weekend moves with stairs are harder for most movers because they require extra man power (again, completely understandable). What I found, however, was that nobody was willing to schedule their Saturdays way in advance until I found JPX. I'm so happy I did! I was able to lock the move in a whole month out so I could prep the new studio and let my students know. I didn't like this guy's attitude. I called to get an estimate to move a piano for a friend and I don't have a lot of information because I'm doing this for a friend. I needed to find out what questions to ask my friend so that I can give him the info. He asked me what brand the piano is and I asked him, "Why do you need to know what brand it is in order to give me a quote? Wouldn't you take excellent care of it no matter what brand it is?" His response was, "Whoa! I need to know what brand it is in order to research model number." That's fine, but the sarcastic "whoa" was absolutely unnecessary! Some background: we had hired a moving company (not professional movers) to move our piano but they were unable to get it up our stairs because of the low ceiling so they left it in the garage and still wanted their full price. After calling about 6 different companies and three movers coming to take a look at the house, many were hesitant or wanted to charge over $500 just to get the piano up the stairs. Called JPX, they requested pictures and after looking, said that they would do it for $250 and if they couldn't do it, no charge. They came with two days' notice, called ahead and were on time, and Oscar and his guys were able to get their piano up the stairs. It took them three different methods, but they were able to improvise and get it up without any damage to the piano or walls. Very happy with these guys.
