A pretty classic dinner with great food and friendly service. I got the corned beef hash and my husband got a texas toast breakfast club sandwich. I thought my hash was decent but my husband was crazy about that sandwich, especially the texas toast it was on. There was a parking lot around the corner. Okay, first love Laramie and Wyoming in general. Second this place is obviously quite popular on a Sunday morning, people waiting outside when we pulled up but the wait for 2 was only about 10 minutes. We did have to sit at the counter (which is not my husband's preference), but it was completely fine. The kitchen staff was laser focused on what they were doing and everyone in the place was hustling! The food was really good and the value was great too. I don't know which we enjoyed more -- the food or seeing great people work hard and work well together. Would definitely stop here again. Didn't try any of the libations but the giant mason jar mimosa is no joke -- saw one and it's for real! read more

Rating one star because i can't rate it zero. I ordered two orders of hashbrowns (only veggie option there) and i received two hamburgers. Upon calling the cafe the clerk said that's a usual mixup during lunchtime because they use the same abbreviation (HB) for hashbrowns and hamburgers. This is no way to run a business. A poorly designed shorthand system should not be affecting the customer experience. Not only was my card charged for hamburgers (which is a significant cost compared to hashbrowns) but the clerk did not offer to remake the hashbrowns and only accepted after i suggested it myself. She also took down my number and told me to wait for a phone call in the next FEW DAYS to resolve the issue. Never coming here again and i would recommend you don't either, unless you want hashbrowns for dinner and hamburgers for breakfast! Food was served in large styrofoam containers with no regard for the environment. read more

Stopped in for breakfast as we passed through Laramie. WOW! The best cinnamon roll ever, we split one amongst us. I had the breakfast burrito and it was very, very good. The place was PACKED but we were seated in about two minutes. Server came right over for drinks, leaving us with menus. Back quickly for our order which came up in almost no time at all. Visiting Laramie for the first time, we walked by and the staff member waved us in. We decided why not it was lunch time. So we were led down to an overflow room. Then we're told the serve breakfast only. We were ready to leave but had already order drinks so stayed. I'm so glad we did. We shared a breakfast burrito. We both thought it would be fair not exciting. The burrito came and it was huge. Plenty to share. The first bite took our taste buds flying. The outside sauce was incredible. The eggs were fluffy and the bacon and hash browns were crisp. By far our best meal in Wyoming. I found this gem on Yelp and decided to give it a try as I passed through Laramie...Yelp with another win!! The owners were friendly along with the locals. Met a guy who asked how we found the best place in town because it's usually just locals. LOL Now let's get down to business...the FOOD!! The green chili was flavorful and fresh. My boyfriend was still talking about it an hour after we left town. I ordered J's Philly Dip and was not disappointed. The bread was unbelievably fresh and the meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Let's not forget the au jus - OMG flavor!! If you still haven't decided to come here, let me tempt you with quite possibly the best cinnamon roll ever!! Best breakfast spot in town! My SO and I always other the chicken fried steak breakfast with hash browns, eggs, and toast. By far THE BEST chicken fried steak I've ever had! Their customer service has been iffy here and there but sometimes you have to choose food over service- and man those cooks in the back work wonders! read more

This is a great college diner and weekend breakfast spot. The corned beef hash was homemade and delicious, and the biscuits and gravy side was definitely a do-over. Also ordered the breakfast burrito because of the raving reviews, but it was luke warm (cheese didn't melt and green chile sauce was tepid) - I'm sure it's the bomb for a "rough night before" cure, but I was really expecting "wow" for the sauce which was okay at best. Love love love this place - its everything a small-town diner should be (whether you are looking for lunch or breakfast). The J's Philly Dip is an all-time favorite meal of mine (I have dreams about this sandwich), and the blueberry pie (apparently made by GrandPa) is insanely good... when they ask if you want it heated up and with ice cream, say "yes" and don't think twice. Also, there are at least 3 places in Laramie that claim to have the best breakfast burrito, but J's blows them all out of the water (I highly recommend it). Prairie Rose is a well known local favorite in Laramie. Nothing is fancy and the coffee is average. Located in the heart of the historic downtown Laramie the building shows its patina and character. Having served the locals and the occasional passerby for years, they've built a pretty good reputation in Wyoming. In downtown Laramie there is diner that has been open for decades (closed for just a year). It was a 24 hour steakhouse because the train depot was just around the corner. When I went to school here in the 70s it was a decent Chinese place. Now it is a breakfast & lunch eatery but dinners Fri and Sat too. It has good breakfast food ...the basics. It is small diner with counter service and small tables. Passing through Laramie it is reliable. read more
