I brought my vehicle in for a straightforward timing chain cover leak--nothing unusual, nothing complex. What followed was a complete breakdown in basic mechanical competence. The car was "repaired" and returned to me three separate times for the exact same issue, which was never actually fixed. It gets worse. Instead of replacing faulty components like any qualified service department would, they chose to file down parts to make them fit. Let that sink in. Rather than doing the job correctly, they took shortcuts that no reputable technician should ever consider. That decision alone tells you everything about the level of workmanship here. After the third failed attempt, I picked up my vehicle once again, hoping the issue was finally resolved. Within hours--on the same day--the oil warning light came on while I was driving. This had never happened before in the life of the vehicle. The only reasonable conclusion is that the oil was either not properly refilled or not checked at all after the repair. That is not just careless--it is dangerous. Failing to verify oil levels after engine-related work puts the entire engine at risk and could easily result in catastrophic failure while driving. To be fair, the one bright spot in this experience was my service advisor, Cyrena. She was professional, communicative, and kept me informed throughout the process. Unfortunately, her efforts could not make up for the repeated failures in the actual repair work. Adding to the frustration, Mazda Corporate Customer Service states that it takes 4-5 business days to review and respond to issues like this. After multiple failed repairs and a situation that could have caused serious engine damage, how is that an acceptable timeline? At this point, this goes far beyond poor service. This is a complete lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic quality control. I would not trust this service department with a bicycle, let alone a vehicle. Do yourself a favor--if you value your car or your safety, avoid this place entirely. I would give them negative stars if I could.

We visited on July 29 at approximately 11:30 a.m. and worked with a sales manager whose name I unfortunately do not remember, but you should be able to identify who was working with us at that time. We came in genuinely ready to purchase a Genesis. Instead of working with us, we were repeatedly told that we would need to put over $5,000 down. Every time we questioned the numbers or asked about other options, the sales manager was unwilling to properly explain anything or work with us. We left feeling completely frustrated, dismissed, and unheard. We ended up going elsewhere, and the difference was UNBELIEVABLE. They got us into a Genesis with ZERO money down and even waived our first TWO monthly payments. That is a huge difference compared to what we were being told. You can even look up my account and see that I ultimately purchased the vehicle elsewhere. What makes this situation even worse is that the problems clearly go beyond the sales department. The managers I have dealt with in multiple departments have been just as bad. Instead of management trying to professionally resolve my concerns, I have experienced dismissive, hostile, and unprofessional behavior. Now I am also being THREATENED simply for speaking up about my experience and raising concerns about how I have been treated. Instead of anyone taking accountability or trying to fix the situation, the response has been threats, hostility, and attempts to make me feel intimidated for complaining. That is completely unacceptable. At this point, this is clearly not an issue with one employee. When management across multiple departments behaves this way and a customer feels threatened for raising legitimate concerns, it raises serious questions about how this dealership is being managed. I specifically want the OWNER to review this personally. I do NOT want my complaint redirected to the same managers I am complaining about. I want the owner to understand exactly what has been happening and how a Genesis customer is being treated.

I was nervous as I arrived alone and every past experience with dealerships has been abrupt & rude and had felt like I got had at some level. The day before, I had consulted with Carmax who offered $1,900 less than the online Kelley Blue Book offer. The week before that, a friend offered to help me sell my Jeep but he tried to get me to sign my title without a date saying that's what all sellers do in advance of selling cars. (Never sign the title until the money has been surrendered to you and the buyer is standing in front of you. I felt betrayed and disappointed by the so-called "friend". I had already contacted a shop owner & friends who only purchase Jeeps. They all wanted to buy my Jeep but times are tough lately & no one was liquid to purchase. I'm telling you all this to let you know how discouraged and roughed up I was feeling by the time I arranged my appoint my for Phillips Auto to see my Jeep. I am spreading the word now that your experience with Phillips will also feel great. You will be greeted in a friendly, professional casual manner. I finally met the affable Andreas (who had been communicating with me about my Jeep I was thinking of selling) and the impressive Bianca who feels like a friend from the start. She is in charge and you feel comfortable and charmed and informed. Both are kind and efficient while appraising my vehicle. Bianca's experienced eye and candor helps the checklist go fast. Their offer price was transparent and fair; very close to my Kelley Blue Book estimate. Bianca is prepared and lets you k is what she is thinking & openly helps you along with understanding the process. I chose to finalize selling my Jeep to Phillips because they gave me a fair offer and did not waste my time. Also, there was no pressure; they gave me the time I needed to call a couple friends' approval to hear their thumb's up. I got free water & a peaceful environment despite other customers & representatives doing business. The showroom is busy but not loud or bustly. Yes, I could have gone privately to sell my Jeep. But I had to get real with myself; I have never sold a vehicle privately before & my Jeep was older & would need time & investment of staging it well to sell it in my own. I did not have the knowledge to do all the trudge work necessary & not the time to meet & haggle with prospective buyers when Phillips has the staff & equipment to pass the Wrangler along to someone who would be just as happy with it as I have been driving it. The paperwork was quick. Phillips will do everything needed. All I did was sign & cancel my car insurance--and that process was not as nice as selling the car, wouldn't you know?! (I certainly felt taken advantage of by my car insurance later that day. That is a different and not as cheerful of a Yelp review & I have been with the same insurance company for 40 years.) Phillips treated me better on our first transaction than my long term insurance agent. Phillips Auto even provided me a complimentary Uber ride home. The wonderful element about Phillips is integrity & decency at this family-owned dealership. My car insurance franchise is also family-owned. Mind boggling with how wonderful I regard Phillips Auto. We are back with a Cadillac that we purchased there a few years ago. At first servicing was great but pricing was heavily marked up, a simple oil change was about 5 times the cost of the oil and filter...well they have a nice waiting area a a free coffee machine. Now an oil change is $149 if you have a coupon so 6 or 7 times the retail value of materials. Now the tire pressure system is signaled on the dash and they want a day and $250 to have a mechanic diagnose it. The OBD code already confirms the dash light. With a little research the reason for the change from a quick, free check is that they thought they lost business as people got the check and went elsewhere or did the repair themselves. I don't mind that they want to maximize revenue but be honest and do the check while I wait instead of pretending I need to drop off a car for 24 hours to do a simple diagnostic check. I'll go get my oil change at mechanic that is a little more transparent and get the TPMS issue resolved at a tire store. I am sad that current ownership of the old Allen dealership is willing to operate this way: pursuing the more-money-than-brains crowd. As they say, "a fool and his money are soon parted" but that shouldn't be your business model.
