I had never had this happen to me. I was stuck wondering, what do I do? I'm in southern California, I have big plans, and no car. I tried another area, but they were not helpful, but someone saw my distress and said, "I can help you." He made a phone call and told me to wait outside and someone would pick me up and take me to a place. I figured it would be some random place with the worst broken down cars. I was dropped off at a small office minutes from the airport. I walked in and the person there was AMAZING! He was friendly, took my information, and within minutes, I was driving out in a nice medium size car. I worried that the return process would cause a problem. I guess, I was just waiting for the other foot to drop. Could it really be this great? The answer is YES! It truly was. No complaints at all. We arrived at the airport in Texas and was told the shuttle stops at 10pm. We had to pay $30 for a taxi to take us to get our rental car. We arrived at the rental car company, and it took over 2 hours to get me the right car. They gave us a much smaller SUV then I rented. Told me it would be $135 more to get a bigger SUV. Then they charged us a $450 dollar fine for smoking in the car. Apparently, smoke was detected in the car for 25-30 seconds on 1 day, that's it. Believe me if I smoked it wouldn't have been for 25-30 seconds one day in week! This most likely happened when we were sitting in a parking lot and someone outside vaped right outside. The4y said we are responsible for any smoke in the car. THiS is CRAZY TO ME!!

I was surprised when I arrived to pick up the rental that because I made the reservation within 24 hours I had to have a credit card to put down, when I only had a debit card. I also ran into a little trouble with the toll roads, hopefully someone else can learn from my mistake. I took my transponder and drove the rental car for multiple days, I didn't see it on my account, so I called The Toll Roads, hoping to make a payment and find out why the transponder wasn't working. Because the car was registered to Hertz it read the license plate and instantly charged them, despite me having a sticker transponder on the dashboard, I believe I had $40 in convenience fees over the matter. Which wasn't very convenient. That being said, a lesson was learned, and hopefully, I prevent somebody else from making the same mistake. I will add a vehicle before taking the Toll Road and I will definitely be back for Mark and Wally for my next rental needs.

On my most recent rental, Nick was awesome despite some hiccups with the cars. Not really a big deal at the end of the day but he went above and beyond, in my opinion, to make it right and it's because of this type of service that I keep coming back. The full payment was due at the counter which was awesome meaning that I could cancel up to the day of. Upon getting to the counter, the whole process did not take more than 10 mins! The best part of it was the Luxury car that I rented had Unlimited mileage which was a sweet deal since I was planning to put at least 2k miles on it for the duration of 7 days. Easy to book, no line, my reservation and car are there when they should be and it's fast since I've already checked in ahead of time online. The entire process is less than 5 minutes and off I go. Returning the car at John Wayne is similarly a breeze - even when it's busy. Very little wait, quick interaction with the person receiving my car, and I have a receipt emailed to me proving I'm charged exactly what was agreed upon.
