Toyota Sienna that JT's got running like new.

I moved to Florida from Ventura county and regularly drive my vehicle back and forth. On my last drive to the west coast I noticed a coolant leak coming from my van. Knowing I had to drive over 2500 miles to get back home to Florida it was very important to have my car running reliability (especially as I'd have to drive through the desert and Texas). I took my vehicle to JT's to have my coolant system fixed and some maintenance items included at the same time, such as a new water pump and timing belt. I got a couple quotes from different shops in the area and JT's was the best price and I had a good feeling about getting the work done There. JT's was also able to work with my very short timeline as I had to make the return trip soon. I picked up the vehicle in the short time frame with no issues. After driving the vehicle around for a couple days around town I wanted him to take a second look at the cooling system, just to make sure everything was in perfect working order. He took the van in immediately and fixed the small issue, which was covered with the warranty he offers. We finished our trip driving across the country and the van ran flawlessly with no issues at all (while pulling a trailer). JT's Automotive: Good work, fair price, but now I'm missing change? My fiance and I brought in her daily driver with some pretty serious issues (had a short which was causing an engine misfire). Joe was our point of contact and he helped us diagnose what was happening and gave us a $1900 estimate. I, myself, work in the automotive industry and recognized that the estimate for the work we would be getting done seemed reasonable. They ended up needing the car for an entire 3 days (1.5x longer than expected) which was a slight inconvenience but not the end of the world, especially for how helpful Joe had been to us to this point. I like to give my mechanics as much time as they need to ensure that I am not getting a rushed final product. The work done has only been completed for a day so there have been no issues observed after the work they have done as of now. For that we are thankful. My issue arises with the approximately $3 of quarters that have gone missing since we picked up the car as well as a couple of my light gray interior panels that now have a layer of grease on them. To rephrase that, a minimum of 12 quarters have gone missing from my fiance's coin storage. I am by no means accusing Joe of taking them, I just know for certain they were there when we dropped off the car as those quarters get set aside for our laundry. Normally I would remove valuables from my vehicles before taking them to get worked on, but this was an emergency and we just took it straight there not thinking anything of it. My fiance did give the shop a call once we noticed and they let us know that none of the work they do is inside the vehicle. We searched high and low before writing this just to give JT's the benefit of the doubt, but with the bill that we paid, I would expect my change inside our vehicle to not go missing whether it was stolen or simply and innocently knocked out of the car. Aside from this, I am satisfied with their expertise and am grateful that such a significant mechanical problem was taken care of.

I own a 2008 ford Ranger and it has 197000 miles on it. Great truck but a year ago it developed an engine issue. I knew it was going to be expensive. Joe and his mechanics took care of it. Haven't been here in over a year. JT put a new valve cover gasket for a reasonable cost. Arrived their today he wasn't in the shop and all his mechanics ignored me. May have been better if I called him. Had to take it my other mechanic which cost me double. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. We got a Groupon for 2 oil changes here - checked in both vehicles gave them all info needed and they started my wife's oil change. 45 min later they had not started on my truck (ram ecodiesel). When I go to ask about it they say "we will be able to start on in it a few minutes". 15 minutes later no change (it's been over an hour now). Another 10 minutes goes by when he tells me "oh uh, this is a diesel? We don't have the correct oil we can't do your oil change today we have to order it". Keep in mind he was told up front it was an ecodiesel, AND he drove my truck around to the back, so we should have been well aware of this. THEN, after my wife's oil change is done, he proceeds to hand be a quote for $900 to replace my wife's brakes, stating there was only 10% left or about 3k miles, we needed to replace them ever since. I've had 3 other body shops look at my wife brakes. The lowest brake pad has 60% life left, confirmed by all 3 body shops. JTs will nickel and dime you and they are NOT honest. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

JT's auto is amazing! If I could give them more stars I would. Pep boys on Oxnard blvd. blew my engine after a simple radiator replacement (they tried to fix it themselves twice, broke down each time after that and now say its not their fault). With JT's we did everything over the phone. In fact, I didn't even meet the owner, Jose, until I was picking the car up, so I never had to miss work. Jose spoke with me many times over the phone and gave me advice on everything; legal action, my rights as a consumer, who I should speak with. He did and inspection and gave me an estimate and wrote up a report I can use in court. He also found me better prices on parts and labor than everyone else I talked to. This has been a year long nightmare. I cannot afford to replace the engine, so I'm pursuing them legally thanks to his advice. I'm 23 year old f. I had no idea what to do and should have asked for someone's help sooner, but Jose took the time to explain everything to me and treated me like he had known me forever. He even gave me moral support! He encouraging me to fight and gave me more options when I wanted to give up, even after he knew that I couldn't afford to fix the car. I'm moving out of town at the end of the month, but if I ever live near Oxnard again I will never, ever go to anyone else. JT's staff is dedicated and hard working, but what I love is how the owner goes above and beyond to make sure his customers are taken care of the right way, the first time. read more

I became a customer for life for two reasons, Customer Service and Price. I've been to many repair shops in So Cal over the years and have yet to ever experience the utter dedication to a customers real needs. Not only the value, but the quality of that value. I don't know how they do it in this day and age, when anywhere else charges 30%-40% even 50% higher in labor. JT's Automotive offer the best labor rates I've honestly ever come across, and trust me I'm not one to write reviews. In fact I would rather keep the best kept secret for auto maintenance & repair in Ventura County to myself (because who enjoys waiting for anything...). However, I feel that I owe it to this shop to let people know how unbelievably cool it is to have a place to take my vehicles without any concern for anything. I know it will be done right, and fast, and for the best price anywhere. The name's Jose and I've been working in this field since I was a kid I have worked for many different shops.From high performance to stock,or as we call it "general repair",which is the state of the car when you drive it off the lot.I've done schools and seminars for hybird,Chevy,Ford,Honda,Toyota,Nissan,BMW and so on.My partner has the same teachings. It started for him in his garage when we where kids working on his Toyota and at the same time he was fighting for our country and the beliefs that make this country.I have high respect for our men and women that fight in are military to keep our country safe.This man is Sovetana Tan my partner and a brother to me. Mr Parra himself was already with a customer but came over to us as soon as he was done with them. He very quickly assessed the issue, asked us to park closer, fixed it immediately (even though we ordered a misfiring part). And then didn't charge us a dime. He said it was a safety necessity for our kids on board. I will be coming back for all future work, he was clearly an expert and natural. I'm not sure if the negative reviews just met a completely different man? He does not care about juicing customers for money. He is fast paced and knowledgeable. Works well on the fly. Maybe you have to catch him on a Sunday? Maybe you have to have a good attitude? All I know is, he will be fair in pricing and know a lot about your car. First, I do want to take a moment to thank my service advisor Andrew, he is everything you want a service to be. He was very professional, detail oriented and most importantly, he kept in constact contact with me in all of my visits to the shop. The other thing I really liked about this place was the way that they send you a detailed report with pictures of the issues they find with your vehicle and classify them as urgent/routine. This really helped me proritize the services that were really needed versus the ones that could wait for another visit. And lastly, I love the fact that at no point in our interaction did I feel pressured into any services or was I forced to use them for specific products. I told them I was getting my Tires at costco, mostly for the cost and they were very honest with me when they said they could not beat their prices. For these reasons is why I am now choosing ABC Auto Care as my primary source for Auto repair needs.

This is my second review for Ventura Collision Center, and once again there is everything to praise…read moreabout their service and professional expertise. From my initial call with Nick LaGrotta to working with Eric Chandler, I was pleasantly surprised at how they tackled what I feared would be an expensive and time involved repair. To explain further, the inside, driver's side handle that I need to open the door had snapped off completely so I couldn't open my door from the inside. It's a 2006 Acura MDX so needless to say it would be very hard to find a new, manufacturer replacement part. Undeterred, Eric called around and found a replacement part that looked brand new even though it came from an older car taken apart for its parts. This ended up being a huge cost savings as well - manufactured new would have been about $400. The part Eric found was $50. Also, they set me up with a temporary fix while they got the part so I could open my car from the inside without having to roll down the window to open it from the outside (yikes!). Who knew that what I feared would be a costly and time consuming fix, ended up taking less than 30 minutes total to address, and cost me less than $150 (including the initial inspection to determine what was the problem). I wasn't referred by an insurance company this time, but, came with it being covered out of my own pocket, because 6 years earlier I had been so impressed by this place. I'm happy to say nothing has changed over time. Ventura Collision Center and everyone that works there (including Ashley - billing and reception) is so professional and a pleasure to work with.

I actually saw JT's ad at Craigslist and was impressed with their FREE inspection and estimate of the problem. Jose is a no non-sense guy, he explained to me in Kindergarten terms what's wrong with my AC gave an estimate on how much it would cost to fix and how long it would take. They actually fixed it right then and there, NO WAITING for me. What most impressed me is Jose's mantra of "being there in the long haul" meaning they started a shop to develop long lasting relationships with clients, and not just there to make a quick buck which is pretty much the standard on most auto shops. I highly recommend JT so if you have an auto problem, don't think twice, just go to JT and you will get an honest answer and reasonable price and most importantly, peace of mind that you are being treated right! read more

its not even a one star, it's a no star. my name is CARL GORDON, JR. and i'm from santa barbara, ca. i needed to move to oxnard to care for a ill loved one. i took my older model bmw to have it worked on by this horse and buggy shop.....what a farce. don't go there. it's a hustle and a scam. don't let these people work on your car. they have individuals giving positive reviews on various sites but i promise you, God as my witness, this is not where you want to take your car. I have doing business with Hosea @ J T Automotive for the last 8 yrs. He's been a fair and honest Mechanic. I found him on Craigslist and he was able to work on my BMW at a price that was below a dealership price. I have been doing business with him ever since. If you don't have an available vehicle, he will get you an Uber ride home, at his expense, while your vehicle is being repaired at his shop. I recommend him highly as the only mechanic you'll ever need now and for your future needs. He's qualified in foreign and domestic automotive work. I went only for a oil change. I asked him for a diagnostic test on my car because i was havong alot of problems. I have taken my car to other mechanics and were charging an arm and a leg just to test it out. Joe at JT's didnt charge me extra to run the test. It showed exactly what i expected and I decided for him to fix my car. Now my car is running so smooth as if it was a brand new car coming out from the factory. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with his service. Joe is such an honest guy. There are few mechanics out there who are honest and deliver a great service, let me tell Joe is that and more. I give 1,000,000,000 thumbs up. I found this shop when shopping around when my 98 Honda Civic was giving me problems. The mechanic was real confident on what was the problem before tearing into the engine. I was given a diagnostic and quote at no cost. The shop made arangements for tow truck. I was kept updated throughout the repair. The best thing of all, NO SURPRISES!!! I got repaired just what was needed and wasn't thrown any curve balls on them trying to sell me on more repairs. My car runs great and actually better then it has in a long time. Moved away from Oxnard 8 years ago, came back and found my mechanic had closed shop. Had to find me a new honest, trustworthy and reliable mechanic, and I have with Joe at JT's Automotive. A few times I had a problem with my car, he did the trouble shooting and analysis for free each time. Every quote from Joe was a fair and honest one ( and believe me I called a lot of shops to compare). We have been taking our cars to him for years.. Always preforms excellent, thorough work - at a fair price. He just expanded his shop and hired more mechanics, so now the work gets done even quicker. Also, being a girl, I am very comfortable there and never feel threatened or get the sense that I'm being ripped off. He explains each job at length and shops around to get the best price for the parts - saving me even more money! I've been taking my cars to Jose even before he opened his own shop. He does great, honest work. It's hard being a female and walking into different auto shops, it's intimidating. I have always felt comfortable with him and have never felt ripped off. He explains everything in lamens terms for me and gets the job done at a great price. Had a transmission problem that would not allow me to get my car smogged. They gave me a price without charging an analysis fee (4 places wanted to charge me between $120-$150 just to check on an OBD scanner). The day after I got my car back, I was experiencing a problem and called back the shop. The owner (Joe) showed up at my house at 7pm on a Friday, fixing the problem in less than 10 minutes. I've been dropping my Jeep off here for a few years. The do the work you ask them to do, they suggest work according to the mileage and wear on the car and if I decline, they usually make a note on my account so that when I come back in to have the work done when I can afford it, I get a deal. Shady mechanic They need the be trained. I read the smog report and knew exactly what they did. They made it miss fire by arching egr valve hose on spark wire it would pass @ 2500 but not on idle. Soon as i lifted hood u could see the crazy sparking action (there was no misfire when i drove years before i went to Tj smog. read more
