Me and my wife have been coming here for years and love the food. It's better than any Juan Pollo that we've ever been to. So we're eating there this past Sunday afternoon and lo and behold. I see something crawling across the floor. a

I've been coming to this Covina Juan Pollo for years and it's my favorite one! You walk in and the staff is always so friendly... Marlen and Olga are always really pleasant and kind! Today I went for my favorite meal they offer - The two taco combo! You might not see it on their main menu, but they do offer it. It's comes with two chicken tacos, salsa, one side and a drink for $9.99! A meal near me under $10 that includes a drink? You can't go wrong! Try the rice or potato salad for the sides or they offer salad. Their mild salsa has a great taste and unique add-ins that you don't find at other JP's. But the real star at this place is the rotisserie chicken. So savory and delicious! You can order for Dine in, take to-go, or get your catering done here! Their seating section has tons of tables, and they have air conditioning so it's cool in the summer. As always, 5 stars. We will be back soon!!

Bright and welcoming entrance with clean tile floors, big windows, and a cozy, simple vibe--perfect for a quick, tasty stop.

5 Stars Absolutely love this place! The chicken is always juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. You can tell it's made fresh with care. The sides--especially the potato salad and beans--are delicious and complement the meal perfectly. The staff is friendly and quick, and the place is always clean. Great portions for the price, too. If you're in Covina and craving some amazing rotisserie chicken, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

    Improperly chopped up chicken.

Update: after storing the chicken in the refrigerator, I noticed LARD on the bottom of the storage container, more reason to stay away from juan pollo.

I prefer the chicken and sides here over the other chicken place. I said what I said. I like coming here when I am getting a single meal and also when I'm feeding a dozen people. The food is always great. 5 stars. That being said, the interior tends to smell like it lacks ventilation and the floor was cleaned with a dirty mop. Luckily I'm not ever in there too long. 3 stars. Overall 4 stars and I will be back!

You can park in the additional parking spots all around Shopper Ln. I have been a customer for many years and tried many delicious dishes. They serve a traditional Mexican open buffet at certain times. The waiting line is expected, but don't feel discouraged because it moves fast. The decor is vibrant enriched with colorful murals. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely warm. The restaurant has cozy and inviting ambience. Outdoor and indoor seating are available. I placed an online order for pickup. It was fast and convenient since I had friends coming for dinner. I ordered the following: - Burrito Panchon 5/5 Stuffed with carnita, beans and rice, served with cream, beans and guacamole. Huge portion! You can choose your protein. - Fajitas Cielo Mar Y Tierra 5/5 Marinated beef, shrimp, chicken. It served with sauteed bell peppers tomatoes and onions, rice, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo. It was smoky, savory and flavorful. - Vegetarian Enchiladas 5/5 Corn tortillas stuffed with bell pepper, corn, onion, carrot, cilantro, squash, and topped with a combination of cream and jack cheese. The portion was enormous. It was a very flavorful and savory. - Carna Asada 5/5 Flap meat marinated with homemade adobo. It served with pico de gallo, rice & guacamole. The meat was juicy and tender. It was such a delicious dish. - Empanadas 5/5 I chose chicken empanadas. It served with salad. The empanadas was crispy from outside and very flavorful. - Ensalada de Nopales 5/5 Diced cactus mixed with tomatoes, onion, lime, and cilantro. - Taquitos 5/5 It was crispy from outside with savory and juicy filling. - Taco de Cameron , taco de Pescado & taco de Birria 5/5 They were savory, juicy and delicious. - Beans 5/5 Topped with melted cheese, really delicious - Large Bionico Bowl 5/5 Fresh fruits like topped strawberries, mango, cantaloupe, banana, papaya, blueberries, apples, pineapple topped with granola and shaved coconut. It was rich, creamy. The fruits were fresh and sweet. It was heavenly! Every box was wrapped with layers of plastic wrap perfectly. I got a bag full of different types of salsa with my order and another bag with tortilla chips. The food portions were very generous. Every dish reflected authenticity and deliciousness. Now the food.... I had the Chon's Breakfast Comal. The chorizo was ok. Lacked quite a bit of flavor. Potatoes tasted kinda like they were boiled and then finished in a sauce, then plated. The bell peppers and onions were fantastic. A lot. But they were cooked well. Over easy eggs were decent, despite one of them being cooked all the way through. Comal was perfect temperature. But insanely greasy (which is expected from chorizo). Rice. Eh... Rice is rice. Wasn't bad. But was all "Oh my goodness this is amazing." Beans tasted like the refried Rosarita's can. Just topped with cheese. The salsa. It was pretty good. The 1st time. Until I found a hair. Then I was given a 2nd one. And when I decided to eat it, it was no good. It was starting to spoil. I realized this once I put it on a bite I was about to take and immediately put it in my food i was about to chew in my napkin. After about 15 minutes when my server finally came by, I told her of the situation. She said "I'll go check." Then disappeared. Someone else gave me the check, and then someone else brought the receipt. The initial server didn't pop up until I was getting up to walk out. So no manager interaction. No "we'll comp your coffee." Just a "Sorry you didn't like it." As I walked out. Ambiance is cool, but some table placement doesn't make sense. That needs to be addressed. Will I come back here? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. But I'm talking like 80 no /20 yea. So I guess we'll see.. So I'm giving this place 1 star. I'm sorry, but this is my opinion based on my 1st experience here. Maybe it'll be better. We'll see....

I did notice that the cashier was attentive, engaged, and very welcoming. I ordered the green salsa chilaquiles, and my husband ordered the huevos rancheros. Talk about fast service. As soon as we sat down the server brought us chips and pointed us in the direction of the salsa bar. Two minutes later our breakfast was served. The chilaquiles were excellent. They were crisp, with just the right amount of green salsa, and two over medium eggs, that were cooked to perfection. The yolk was thick creamy, warm, and jammy. The whites were completely firm, and set, not runny. The plate also came with a side of rice, and beans. We will definitely be returning customers.

First and foremost, the restaurant is very clean, well-maintained, and inviting, with colorful decor and salsa music softly playing in the background. We were also greeted immediately with a "welcome" by two or three female employees. At this point in our visit, I am really loving this place. The full menu is clearly posted behind the front counter, which makes ordering easy. The young lady who took our order was welcoming and friendly. My wife ordered green chilaquiles, and I ordered huevos à la Mexicana with a large horchata and a diet soda. After we placed our orders, we sat at an empty booth, and almost instantly our waitress approached our table with a basket of hot chips dipped in beans, which I had never tried. These chips were AMAZING, as they were fresh, tasty, and the beans made them the perfect way to start our breakfast. Our food arrived at our table in eleven minutes, and everything we ordered looked appealing. After a quick prayer for our food, we had an incredible, fun dining experience. Our dishes were flavorful, filling, and perfectly prepared. Every single item was truly DELICIOUS!! I am a huge fan of beans, and these beans were AMAZING!! The restaurant also offers guests unlimited soft drink refills, iced cold water, and an unlimited salsa bar. They also offer Taco Tuesday and karaoke night, among other weekly fun activities at this restaurant. One thing which really stood out to me was how many customers were dining inside, taking advantage of the outdoor seating area, and/or picking up to-Go orders. This is a very popular restaurant and with good reason. It is AWESOME!! What really impressed me, and I mentioned it to one of the employees, was that as each guest walked out of the restaurant, ALL employees could be heard saying, "Have a great day." The exact words I say to EVERYONE every single day of my life. The positive vibes at the restaurant were overflowing, and my wife and I loved it!! I truly wish to thank employees Amy, Frances, and Jess for making our first visit such a positive experience. This was the first of many future visits we plan to make here for amazing food and good vibes. Thank you!

We got served some good old fashioned chips and salsa, always a favorite. I think I saw a piece of mango floating in it but I could be wrong, as it did not taste sweet. Tasted quite peppery so maybe it was a bell pepper. I have no idea. Salsa did have a different taste than the usual onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro so I'm unsure what they do here. Chips were fine, not hot and fresh but had a nice crunch to them. Most Mexican restaurants I've been to have this similar combination option and I saw their menu had a combo with three items: one enchilada, one chile relleno and one crunchy taco. I thought, awesome, I get to try one of each and see how I like 'em. I normally get a taquito with my meal so I asked the waiter if it was ok to order this combo with a taquito or flauta in place of the crunchy taco. He said no. Not, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we don't allow substitutions, thank you for understanding, etc." Just, no. Ok...? Never been to a place that cared much about me subbing a taco for a taquito, unless the plates are preassembled with a crunchy taco, which doesn't make any sense. Thought that was a little off-putting but onward... We ordered the potato taquito appetizer that was listed on their menu. Plate arrives and it's huge - which made sense since it cost $18 - but they were all visibly beef taquitos. I happened to be dining with my vegetarian friend, hence the ordering of potato taquitos, so we kindly informed the waiter that we ordered potato and these were all beef taquitos. Waiter confusingly indicated that these were potato taquitos and we kind of glanced at each other like... uhhh, there's clearly shredded beef in there sticking out, so we pointed it out. Waiter looks again, points to one specific taquito on the plate and says, "Well, that one is potato." The waiter eventually clarified that the taquitos were actually beef with potato. I politely informed him that since my friend is vegetarian and the menu didn't specify beef in the taquitos, we couldn't accept or eat the dish. The waiter was pushy about it and suggested we just take them home and eat the leftovers. Dude no. I ordered potato taquitos and we're only two people, and this was a massive plate of around 15 taquitos. I don't have an air fryer or oven at home, either, so I really have no proper way of reheating and I'm just one person. Either way, none of this was something I felt was worth arguing over. Just take the friggin taquitos back. We sat there uncomfortably for a bit and waited for our main meals to arrive. Got my combo, and it was honestly pretty good. Flavors were fresh and vibrant, even the taco was good although I was bitter it was a half-moon fried piece of tortilla with beef instead of a rolled fried piece of tortilla with beef. :( It's a joke, chill. We finished and the waiter brought out the bill. We quickly left our cards for payment and in clear view for the waiter to pick up so we could leave and digest by walking at the mall or something, but he never came. He walked by a few times, cards were sticking out... still nothing. After 30 minutes, my friend says she thinks we have to pay at the front. Would've been nice to know about 30 minutes ago. Paid at the front, left, and I won't be coming back. Food was actually pretty good but it unfortunately did not outweigh the lack of service and overall experience of eating here. Parking was good, at least.

Jorge came outside multiple times, clearly saw how many people were waiting, and even recorded the crowd on his phone three different times for social media. Knowing the capacity of the restaurant, he could have easily informed everyone that the remaining people in line would likely not get in. Instead, we waited over three hours with no communication. While we were waiting, I repeatedly watched people call Jorge. He would come outside, greet them, and bring them straight inside. I personally saw this happen at least six different times. When it was finally our turn to speak with the host, we were told there were no seats left, that we would have to stand, and that we wouldn't even be able to order food. I confronted Jorge about letting those other groups in ahead of everyone else. His response was that he knew them personally and that they were friends of the restaurant owners. That explanation only made the situation worse. My wife had just finished a 14-hour hospital shift, and we came here hoping to enjoy the game together. Instead, we spent three hours waiting only to be treated as though our time didn't matter. What was most shocking was Jorge's attitude. He literally told me, "They won't do anything to me if you post this. I'm friends with the owner." If that's the mindset of management, it's no surprise customers are treated this way. It truly felt like only friends and family received special treatment while everyone else was left waiting without honesty or respect. I have no issue waiting when things are busy, but I do expect transparency, fairness, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience showed none of those qualities.
