Chicken was extremely overcooked and chewy. Could barely eat it. Salad was plain and basically just lettuce and carrots in a bowl. No flavor. Shrimp was burned - tasted like charcoal. My husband liked the rib eye steak. I would not recommend this place. read more

I ordered a family feast meal for my family on Sat. June 21st at 8:45 pm I walked in at 8:57 and the Waba was completely empty, 0 customers but 3 workers (all male) all near the register. I told them I was here for a family feast pickup meal and they said okay, proceeded to talk for 15 minutes before even starting to make my order. I'm not sure why they would do that since there was no one else there at almost 9pm with no other orders being made but very disappointing. Won't be going to this location again. These guys were way too old to be acting this unprofessional / immature. read more

Came here after going to pick up my items from IKEA. The girl at the front was okay, she explained how to order, but when it came to receiving my order it was a different story. She called out the order number so low that no one who did order food was able to hear that their order was ready. There was an older couple that came in after me and this girl told the couple that the water cups are only for water. To which the older lady understood and apologized, but the girl behind the register continued on about the water cups being only for water. It was uncomfortable to have this person continue about the water cups. When I finally realized my food was ready, which was ready for sometime. It was lukewarm at best. The serving size was okay, but not worth what I paid. I do not know if the girl was having a bad day or if she just has a bad attitude, but be cautious about when you go. Who ever owns this location needs to consider having their team be trained in customer service or retrained in customer care because no one should feel that uncomfortable about a water cup. read more

This is mainly regarding the customer service I received today. I ordered a waba PLATE, but as I was leaving the establishment I noticed they gave me a bowl instead and the receipt even listed it as a bowl. I know it's my bad for not doublechecking the receipt after they gave it to me so that's on me. But I was really disappointed with how they handled the situation when I went back in to get it fixed up. I told the lady working the register that I actually wanted to order a plate and not a bowl, and asked if there's any way to just pay the extra cost and get it fixed. She was ok with it and just let me pay the difference. However, when I asked if she wanted the bowl back she did take it back and TOSSED it in the trash in front of me! I had told her I didn't even open it, and I was surprised she didn't offer to just let me keep the bowl and have their cook make the amount difference between a bowl and plate. I understand that maybe due to COVID times they don't want to keep the food, but I felt there would've been a less wasteful approach to her decision. And through all of this there was never once any sort of apology of the mess up or misunderstanding that occurred in the order. I really didn't feel any customer service from her, if anything it made me feel like it was all my fault. And I guess they really don't care to waste food either. Food is ok, but with that experience I don't think I want to come back to this location. I'd rather go to Golden Bowl nearby. read more

One of my go to Waba's the place is always clean, the employees are always nice. I always place a phone order and it is ready when I get there. I've eaten there before and it very spacious. Food is always fresh and cool to perfection. I recommend this location and it's right by the 10 freeway, that's a plus! I wish they will have their spicy pork year around that is my absolute favorite. read more

Great Waba location! Walked into this location for the first time on a Wednesday evening. Inside was very clean and I was greeted by staff right away. Staff was friendly and took my order right away, even offered me a cup of water while I wait. Waited for my to-go order for about 10 minutes. I ordered a tofu veggie bowl. A few days ago I was really craving a beef bowl from WaBa. I remember when they first opened I couldn't get enough of the yummy steak bowl with their amazing teriyaki sauce . I was really looking forward to my meal when I went . It was a weekday around 8pm . I considered myself lucky at first because it was completely empty . That should've been the first red flag . The young employee behind the counter looked unamused to get a customer. I placed order for my beef bowl and requested extra teriyaki and green onions . My food was ready in 2 minutes and I asked the employee if I could get extra teriyaki sauce . He reached to a small metal container on counter and provide me with 1 small packet . I looked at him and requested a few more . He looked at me like I was requesting more food and looked annoyed that the container was empty and had to reach below the counter to re stock . I was provided with 2 more little packets and decided to give up and leave . When I opened my food at home I noticed the meat looked super dry . It had a beef jerky consistency with some scant sauce . Giving it the benefit of a doubt I ate a few bites and the visual matched the taste . The meat was hard and really disgustingly fibrous . Upon closely inspecting a piece you can see hard fibrous membrane in the meat . Long strands of tough stringy meat stuck to each other . I definitely had enough as I lost my appetite. It's sad that for almost 11$ dollars this is what we are served. I don't know if maybe you get the fresh stuff earlier but I do not plan on finding out. The decline in the quality of food at some of these places is surreal. Maybe the economy has caused businesses to cut corners but at the end of the day they'll have unhappy customers and an empty establishment. I gave 2 stars because facility appeared clean . I do not recommend spending your money here . read more

Friendly cashiers, and the food is good. WaBa tries to promote their healthy food items. For instance if you order the chicken, you get lean chicken breast meat. If you order the beef, the beef is trimmed so there's minimal fat. However, soda was the most unhealthy item available on the menu. Overall, WaBa is a very good value. This location absolutely sucks at phone orders. Yes, there's online ordering, but for an added $5-$7 than normal. Call and they'll "leave you on hold," and after being on hold for 5 minutes, hanging and calling back, you can't get through because they haven't hung up on their end. OR! The best is when you call multiple times, it rings and rings, you go in to order, ask if their phone is working, and the response is, "I didn't even hear the phone ring." But then they proceed to answer the phone while you're waiting for your food. tl;dr -- don't try to make a phone order if you're in a rush. read more

However, the food tasted bland, and the sticky bottles of hot sauce and teriyaki were just gross. I hated their teriyaki sauce--it tasted really chemically and too much ginger- blech! Lunch date got the chicken and veg bowl, but hardly any veg and really sinewy pieces of chicken. Me no likey. It was uncomfortable to sit inside, its teeny tiny and squished feeling. They have a deal where you buy 2 chicken bowls for $10.98. I think this location is way better than the one in Asuza Blvd. The chicken serving was sufficient and the onions were fresh. I think the avocado side is much too expensive for what you get but it was a good tasting avocado. Don't forget to ask for any extra sauce and the onions if you like some! Was sitting watching the guy chop up chicken and seemed he chopped a lot but when I got my chicken it was not very cut up- lots of intact chunks. Interest captured by the vivid scents wafting from the kitchen and the mostly positive Yelp reviews, I boomeranged back 24 hrs later to place my maiden order. I went with Shanghai Egg Rolls and the Yang Chow Fried Rice, but I'd asked them to substitute more chicken and Chinese sausage for the shrimp, as your favorite Yelp correspondent has never enjoyed shrimp in any form other than cocktails. The staff is exceedingly nice!!! Owner/proprietor JOSEPH and his wife skate around as balls of determined energy, but with welcoming smiles affixed to their faces. The prices are pretty reasonable- My tab for a generous multi-protein entree and appetizer was $19.34 including taxes. But can we please have a conversation about the flavors? Couwami partisans! Tell me-- Did your faithful correspondent order the wrong items?! My Shanghai Egg Rolls were undercooked, limp and flaccid. The flavors were solid but the texture was so off-putting and uncharacteristic for a typical egg rolls, that I could barely get them down. The Yang Chow Fried Rice was also undercooked- I'm used to fried rice that has a toasted, beigy-yellow finish with chicken or pork cooked to at least medium to medium well doneness. My entree was, as the picture attest, a faint ivory hue and I actually hadta toss it in my skillet for five minutes to toast up the rice and finish cooking the tendrils of chicken, which were served medium rare, a micro-degree above pink but with the unpleasant mouth feel of sushi. Not exactly the way you'd expect your proteins to be prepared! I'm a huge believer in redemption. And judging by the hundreds of 4.2 level reviews on Yelp, I suppose its possible I just caught the cook on a bad night or ordered the WDT (Wrong Damn Thing)...twice! I'd normally accord two stars but will bump this up to three based on the utter civility and decency that Joseph and his staff extended to me.
