Juan Pollo, today I went in and walked away thinking we should go out separate ways for a while. -4 flies buzzing around inside while I waited for my order -The cashier messed up 3 orders before I got mine-and there was nothing complicated about mine. She responded, "My bad" when one lady said her order was wrong. The mistake was made at the register. What happened to the women who worked there and did it right and fast. I stood at waited almost 10 minutes for such a simple order. I think the flies out me over the top today. I mean, really? I know the raw chicken attracts these things, but couldn't you do something to clean up the front so I don't have them trying to land on me and my food? Come on Juan-you weren't always so dirty. Chicken is good.. a little on the salty side but what is really annoying is their habit to turn customers away at about 10 to 15 before closing time. Several times now I have been told " we are out of chicken " . Are you really out or do you just not want to fire up some more so close to closing time? Either way, this shows poor planning. Although the food is always really good I'm giving them 1 star because they have roaches!!! I just picked up food for my daughters birthday party and when I opened the box they put the trays in it also had roaches in it! I would've taken pictures but I was to busy making sure I killed them all before the invaded my kitchen! I'm actually really disappointed because I really like their chicken. Hot beans that usually aren't too watery. Hot and mild salsa: hot for me... zero complaints except give me more! Tuesday and Wednesday chicken specials... bring a coupon for the other days. I love Juan Pollo, but it's often hit-and-miss as to the quality of the food. Also, the service is bland to mediocre. A Smile, thank-you, or even acknowledgment of your existence in the restaurant would be a welcome change from what is going on right now with most of their employees. I really missed El Pollo Loco when I was eating Juan Pollo. Juan Pollo vs El Pollo Loco. Chicken: EPL is flame grilled and JP is rotisserie. EPL is tastier but it's not as soft and it doesn't melt in your mouth like JP. JP has nice tasty crispy skin. Salsa: EPL has salsa bar and JP gives you one small container of super spicy salsa. Sides: EPL sides are way tastier than JP. The rice @ JP has chicken pieces but it is not cooked well. The potato salad and beans are bland. Service: EPL expects you to pick up your food @ the counter and JP delivers your food to your table. The place was almost empty when but most people got their food to-go. They needed someone here to clean the sticky tables. I didn't smell like chicken when I left so that's a good thing. 3.5 stars. Sorry sis, you can have your Juan Pollo. I'll stick with El Pollo Loco. Before walking into the store there is a big sign on their window that says "the best tasting rotisserie chicken" so i kinda knew i was walking into something really good. I ordered the lunch special which came with chicken leg, thigh, breast, 5 corn torillas (or flour), potato salad, rice, salsa and a drink and it all tasted great for only $5.75 plus tax. The chicken truly is the best tasting rotisserie chicken. It was cooked to perfection and the skin tasted well seasoned and with the right amount of crisp. The meat of the chicken didnt taste dry at all like all the other rotisserie chicken joints. The rice tasted good and the potato salad tasted fresh and really tasty. They also have a special every tuesday and wednesday for two whole chickens for 12.99 which ill for sure order one day. It was so good that i had to come here two days in a row just to soak in all the greatness. The lady behind the counter was very nice and courteous. I told her to check out their yelp cause a lot of people loved this place. The decor on the wall was kind of plain but had a lot of pictures of chicken and its family members. The chicken was just OK to me. Meat not juicy, but it did fall off the bone....the skin was a little limp and sticky for me. It had a strange flavor to it for me. The salsa was--strange.. there were carrots in it. Maybe I need to get the spicy one next time? I didn't care for the rice. It had chicken pieces in it. I like mine with veggies only. Completely unacceptable and frustrating for a take out restaurant to not accommodate phone-in orders to go. Recent experience included a phone-in order to pick up and they guaranteed a "no worry" assurance that coming into the store would not take very long. When we arrived the line was incredibly long (fine) but one of the cashiers is an awful person; rude and incapable of providing excellent customer service. The worst part of it all...my wallet wasn't in my pocket and although my wife was waiting out in my car and could provide me the card, the cashier refused to help me out by telling me that if I went out to car to get my card I would have to get back in line and resubmit my order. At that point, I left. The cashier must be pulled and removed from providing any kind of customer service. It's really good and juicy, but the last two times, the chicken has been skinny and dry after specifically asking for fresh, not overcooked chicken. The chicken wings were so dry & hard, no one will eat them. Waste of my money. I do have to acknowledge that they offered to exchange the chicken if I would go back and bring them my chicken but I declined. It's too much of a hassle, especially in this heat.
