Do not get the chicken shawarma plate, it is absolutely terrible. No rice, no salad, just hummus and chicken shawarma. Absolutely bizarre! Every other Greek and Mediterranean restaurant I've been to the chicken shawarma comes with rice and a salad. Don't waste your money on this dish. Go with the kebabs or something else. There is a lot of history packed into this dine-in cafe, featuring flavors from Lebanon, and, I hear, catering services. Located in an older building in a foodie area of Napa, the dining area is filled with music and color under soft lighting. Cookbooks, newspaper articles, and Arabic calligraphy adorn the walls. The service counter displays a deli selection of legume salads and colorful spreads like muhamarah. If you take the time to examine your surroundings and read the mounted newspaper clippings, you will learn the history of the restaurant and get a glimpse of Juju, the chef. My dining companion and I enjoyed a hummus plate with pillowy soft pita bread from a Sacramento bakery. The hummus was seasoned with zingy sumac and garlic. The house pickles had a nice flavor, but I wish the pickled turnips were minced. They were very salty, and a large chunk was difficult to contend with. I enjoyed a falafel wrap which included unusually creamy falafel that was well seasoned and crisp on the exterior. It was served with a tahini sauce on the side, which was a pleasant accompaniment. So I paid for my meal ($17 for a falafel and baklava) using a VISA gift card. Due to the card balance being low it only charged $9 and i paid the remaining $8 in cash... Food was decent and the girl they had working was very sweet. The owner on the other hand was a different story. He had a slight attitude from the beginning with me that he didnt share with anyone else. As im leaving the restaurant he approaches me and tells me that i owe him $9. Im confused as to why and we discuss it. He is worried that the card transaction might not have worked because hes unfamiliar with gift cards. A reasonable concern! I tell him that i can pay cash but would like to first check my balance to ensure it did not go through. He wasnt listening to what i was explaining so in order to avoid a problem I just paid $10 more in cash.. Now a little aggravated, i go to my car to check my balance since I could not inside. Not even 30 seconds later the owner comes outside to the parking lot and asks me to leave because he has a truck coming and wants to use my parking spot. I will NEVER be back. At 6:00 I decided I was not going to cook tonight. I had been looking at Tarla but then selected JuJu's (they were not taking orders at the time and that is a good thing!) I ordered the Kefta Wrap, Lebanese Salad (1/2 pint) and a Hummus Plate hoping to have leftovers! And, I do, and it is delicious! Not to mention it came within a half hour! Following some excellence in Yelp-sleuthing, a friend of mine picked up 6 Mediterranean box lunches from Juju's for us to savor in a vineyard picnic. The box lunches ($18 each) include a wrap or kabob, tabouli or dolmas, Perrier or soda, and baklava and, though the price may be a bit steep for what you get, it's not at all unreasonable for a picnic lunch in wine country. And the food? Quite good. We sampled the Kefta, lamb, and chicken kabobs, falafel wrap, lamb wrap, and Greek wrap, tabouli with some hummus and Greek salad-like accompaniments: All were delicious when enjoyed in an idyllic setting. Dolmas were as dolmas always are (slimy and weird, IMHO) and the setting did little to change my view on those things. The baklava was like biting into a honey bomb, so rich and sweet and sticky. This sort of food was a perfect mid-day stomach-filler for the wine-drinking that inevitably followed. It left us satisfied, not stuffed and, like all good Mediterranean tastes, had us believing that we'd eaten something healthful. This isn't a destination spot amongst all of your Wine Country dining options, but it's a great mid-day fill-up that'll help see you through until your dinner reservations. read more

3 1/2 stars is more appropriate. This is the second time I've been here. I was hoping this time would be different. Coming from Los Angeles I was spoiled with some fantastic Mediterranean restaurants. A chicken kabob plate in LA ran me about $12, here it's $16, with less portions. Aside from the overpriced menu, I really wish the owner was more welcoming. Smile and greet your small town customers when they walk in the door, use the words "thank you". It really goes a long way. I'm not sure if the rest of the reviewers have ever experienced true Mediterranean, ever escaped the Napa Bubble, or are just friends of the owners? Three words: overpriced, mediocre, did I mention overpriced? Gyro plate was literally plate of hummus, 4 cut wedge tomatoes, 3 wedge pickles, some this sliced red onions, (ground lamb meat - who grinds lamb meat for a gyro?) and pita on top. That's it. I rarely give one-star reviews, but this establishment definitely earns it. We are familiar with Mediterranean foods and restaurants and were quite surprised at the cost and quality. The Greek Salad was $9.00 and was literally a pile of shredded romaine lettuce, about 8 whole kalamata olives, some chopped Roma tomato, a very (very) small amount of feta, about 1/8th of a slivered small red onion, and a dressing that was incredibly sweet. Far too sweet for a traditional Greek Salad. The Falafel Wraps were very small and the lavash that they were wrapped in was incredibly similar to a taco-sized flour tortilla. We purchased two of these, which came with a little scoop of "garlic cilantro home fries". Essentially these are cubed, skin-on, white potatoes that have baked with some olive oil, garlic salt, and cilantro (which didn't have any flavor so I'm thinking it's actually parsley). The wraps and potatoes themselves weren't bad, but they weren't anything special and I could easily do this myself with some store-bought hummus, an add-water falafel mix, flour tortillas, and some romaine lettuce. The tahini sauce they served these with was as thin as water and had little flavor. The chicken Gyro Wrap was set up the same way with the wrap and small potatoes as a side, but had such a strange flavor it wasn't edible. Lastly, the owner was rather stiff. I'm not sure if we were bothering him by even coming in to eat. It certainly seemed that way. As you can probably tell, we won't be back here. If you are in Napa and considering a Mediterranean feast, or simply have a craving for a gyro, falafel, hummus, or a truly delicious Greek salad, amongst many other delicious menu items, I highly recommend checking out Small World. read more

Everything about this place make it everything I love about a meal. When I walked in I instantly felt like I had stepped into the home of someone from the Middle East and that is exactly how my whole experience went. It's almost as if you're eating in the owners dining room and that's because you are. The kitchen is open so you can hear and see them cooking you're meal with FRESH foods. I ordered the falafel plate and the falafel is easily the best falafel that I have had to date. It's a very healthy size and it's perfectly crispy on the outside but has a beautiful moist texture inside and it's seasoned perfectly. The Baba ghanoush is also easily one of the best I've ever had, the texture and flavor was amazing perfect for dipping the falafels in. Oh yeah don't forget to ask for the hot sauce they have in the back it's very fresh and pretty damn spicy. The hummus is also fantastic along with the tabbouleh salad. Not only is all of this food delicious but it is also very nutritious. The falafel and hummus are made with chickpeas which could easily be considered a super food, high in protein, fiber, and many more necessary nutrients. They help assist in lowering blood pressure for diabetics, they improve digestion and they help with weight loss. Just Incase you needed another reason to give this place a try. read more

This was the first time I tried Greek food and now I am an instant fan! The restaurant may have been a little small, but the portions of the food wasn't. I ordered a lamb gyro wrap and it included small potato wedges. It was absolutely delicious and fulfilling! It was only about $10 too which was surprisingly a cheap price since it was lamb meat. Also the hummus was great too. Only thing I didn't like was the fact that you have to walk across the counter and the kitchen just to go to use the restroom. It was a little bit awkward... After my trip back from California, I'm still talking about my dining experience at Juju's. My mom & I took a chance here based on the amazing Yelp reviews we read and I'm SO glad we did. We actually made two attempts at finding Juju's. The first (failed) attempt led us to an empty lot a block over (thanks Google maps?). But finally, we found it! When you walk in, you get that casual cafe/mom's kitchen feel. Very cozy. The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to help. My mom ordered a Greek salad and I went with the Kefta Wrap. For dessert, we ordered baklava. They were out, so we were offered an array of delicious pistachio pastries instead. I really could not remember if I had truly ate in a real house restaurant. Uniquely different and authentic to greek culture. I absolutely loved the 2 owners. They were very kind. They were also able to multi task super well. They took our orders, prepared or food, waited the table, seated new guests, and cleared the table. The food was very fresh. Not as seasoned as I preferred, but not bland by any means. Portion size was plentiful for the price, and a great combination of greek delicacies. This place is very small, but not crowded. Absolutely delicious!! The best Middle Eastern food I have tasted. Flavorful kabob, falafel, mujadara and baba-ghanoush; fluffy and citrusy tabouli; and delectable baklava. Juju's has had mojo over the years. It's managed to withstand earthquakes, the opening of a chaotic new strip mall with Panera,Habit&Chipotle, and they're still around. What I used to like about this place was that I could get lots of Middle Eastern foods&ingredients- like Turkish/Greek coffee, halvah, you name it. Their mini-market rivaled their own dining/catering. Sadly, they've cut down on their mini-market. They have an OK dining area showing Mediterranean pop music videos. The service is slow, but friendly. The lady who runs the place is very helpful; you get educated. What made them unique was that they had a mini-mart of sorts, unlike Tarla and Small World. It's mostly gone. They're right about having the Napa Valley's best hummus. Their baba ganoush would convert anyone who dislikes eggplant. Since they've faced so many challenges, it's a relief they've lasted. read more

We tried this place out a couple weeks ago and we've already been back twice. JuJu's is testing our new year resolution to only eat out once a week, BIG TIME! The flavor is crazy good. Juicy lamb/beef combo with perfect spicing. Mediterranean Salad: Our favorite so far! Such a unique salad. Pomegranate dressing is great. I recommend adding the chicken. The marinade on the grilled chicken is amazing. Side of fries: Garlicky, fried potato goodness. Reminds me of Gordon-Biersch garlic fries. Roasted Veggie Wrap: Good veg, yummy, hummus wrapped in a light bread. The sauce is pretty good. I doused it with sriracha and inhaled this thing. Chicken kabob: Same chicken they put on the salad. Soooooo good. I have to figure out what seasonings they are using!! Three tries so far and we are hooked on JuJu's. JuJu's is now open in napa in a hidden area not often visited by tourists. The same family used to own and run Gina's deli on main street in Napa. Now their new business is more of a Mediterranean market and deli. They also do catering. I stopped in for some lunch and was curious about what they had. I asked what their specialty was and I was told to try the Kefta wrap. It was great!! The Kefta wrap is lamb and beef w/ onion, lettuce and tomato wrapped in lavish bread with hummus. And they will give you a side of yogurt and cucumber sauce to go with it. The wrap was so good and it was a big serving too. JuJu's has specialty items in their market section and also they will let you sample a lot of different things. In fact they encourage it! I will definitely go back again . read more

This place is fantastic. The people are very friendly and the food is great. It's the kind of place where you feel like your mom's making you food in her kitchen. They even had Martha stewart playing on the television. What more could one ask for in a dining establishment? So far I've tried the Greek salad and kefta plate. Both were good, but the latter was especially delicious. It came with hummus, rice, salad and pita. It was a very generous portion and I ended up taking some if it home.
