I've never gone and not enjoyed my well prepared, deliciously seasoned and more than fairly priced food. I've gone multiple over the past couple of years & last night my family, friends, and I dined there for my bday. Dinner was great, food was amazing. There were legit no complaints. Most importantly Yun ( if I spelled it correctly) was a one man wrenching show. There were a total of 17 of us and her served us WELL all by himself. Very attentive and plenty polite. We didn't have to ask for anything because he paid close attention and handled all our needs effortlessly. We came to simply just have a good time and share a meal together and that's exactly what occurred. On top of that the playlist was on point and he allowed us to sing as loudly and freely as we wanted everyone was happy and the overall experience was very conducive for the occasion thank you so much and of course, I'll be back again! read more

I really want to give this place a better review but unfortunately my order wasn't as great as I had hoped. I came here with my mother for a late mother day lunch and we both enjoyed the atmosphere as soon as we walked in. The decor is nice and they allow people to write all over the walls. We had came on a day where they had a special for crab legs, muscles, shrimp, potatoes, and corn together for $24. Your able to choose your own spices and how hot you would like your food. They do not play around with the spices!! They was a lot. I had mine mild, my Mother's was no heat at all. Hers seemed to be spicy still, mine was perfect. As far as the seasoning it was too much.. We actually took quite a bit to go since there was too much spices for us to eat all at once. Went here because a few other places were packed on a Saturday evening. This was open and for good reason. They didn't have half the items on the menu. It was 7 pm on what should be their busiest night, and they were out of stock of most common things. What kind of seafood place doesn't carry malt vinegar? The servers did not even know what it was. This was after we asked three different people that didn't tell us they didn't have it and avoided our table after we asked. We were served (main course was already on the table) before they told us they did not have one of our entrees. No apology. On top of this, the food was bland. Had the fried catfish basket which was ok, but the pay-by-the-pound seafood was lacking in seasoning (we got the special) and did not look to be near the weight we ordered. I know this place is new, but whoever owns this place does not know how to order inventory or train their staff. UPDATED: We ended up speaking to the manager. She was very apologetic and comped our meal. I don't think I would go back in the future, but I appreciate her sincerity and appreciate that most of the problems are likely the result of a new staff, which may or may not change in the future. read more

Read the other reviews and was hoping that after being opened a month the service issues would have been ironed out. We arrived at 6:00 pm Saturday night on 10/27/18. Upon arrival we were told it would be an hour wait for 3 people despite 1/3 of the restaurant being empty and only 8 people sitting in the waiting area. Either they were waiting for a large reservation to arrive or there was not a sufficient amount of staff to serve at prime time on a Saturday night. I decided to wait the hour and sat at the bar with my family. We were greeted by a gentleman behind the bar and was told he'd be right with us and he walked away. There were 3 other folks behind the bar and for 15 minutes we were completely ignored. I finally went to the reception counter and asked for the owner/manager and was told by the young lady that she was supervisor and the owner/manager was not there. How would there be no manager/owner present at a new restaurant on Saturday night? I pulled her aside and showed her the three servers behind the bar and NOBODY was serving the 8 folks sitting at the bar. NOT ONE HAD A DRINK! She apologized and asked me what I would like to do. I'm not sure what she expected me to say, but she seemed to want me to fix the problem... Now, walking me back to the bar and maybe comping me a drink would have been appropriate, but asking me what I wanted to do?! I told her I was leaving and again, instead of trying to fix the problem, she let me and my family walk out! At the same time my wife started to complain to the bartender and was told that the liquor order never came in so the management was getting liquor from local stores (at 6pm on a Saturday?!). Why would their liquor vendor not deliver? I've never heard of this unless they don't have credit with their vendor or they are unable to pay COD. Either way, the restaurant is at fault and is completely unorganized. Instead of a nice evening out we left unfed and aggravated. Horrible service. I won't be back. read more

It's kind of an odd vibe as far as interior goes. It seems like the budget wasn't enough as they designed the place so now it's "incomplete." The crab meat has hardly any meat in it. Received two gift certificates as a Christmas gift so decided to visit on New Years eve. Attempted calling the restaurant in advance to determine if we needed reservations, however, the line was busy. We drove out anyway. The restaurant appears to be very new and it is located in a small strip off Lagrange road near a hotel and a steak restaurant. There was plenty of parking available so we parked, walked in and were greeted right away to be seated. The restaurant was not crowded which was odd since their phone line was busy as I tried calling several times. The employees were getting prepared for a New Years eve party (FREE) and the decorations were very nice. Had someone answered the phone we may have come later and took part in the festivities but no one answered. Anyhoo. The restaurant has a full bar in the center of the restaurant and the tables/booths are situated around the bar. They even offer a private room. We were give water and then waited for several minutes before our waitress arrived. When waitress arrived, we explained we had gift certificates and she advised there was no black out dates or exclusions from the menu. The restaurant is very similar to Angry Crab and Low country but without the long wait. They offer a variety of seasonings and temperature for your food and all of the menu items are sold price for 1/2 1b or 1b. I ordered shrimp (head on - since there is a few bucks price difference without the head), sausage and crab legs. My partner ordered the same thing but without the shrimp. Each meal comes with potatoes and corn. We also both ordered a drink. I ordered something from the bar (wine/beer). Their isn't a huge selections of wine but I was able to order a merlot. The wine tasted very old but I was able to catch one of the waiters (because our waitress was not around) to let her know so that I can get a different selection. She took the wine and brought me a new fresh glass (newly opened bottle) and it contained flavor. Our food arrived rather quickly and was delivered by another staff member. We were provided bibs, a fork and there is a roll of paper towels on the table for your good messiness that is about to happen. However we need the crab cracker to assist with opening the crab legs. We kept looking for the waitress but she was not around. She finally appeared as we were already eating and finally gave us the crab crackers. Our food contained lots of flavor and it was hot and fresh. We both enjoyed our meal and was well enough that you will have leftovers. We also waited a little bit of time to get our waitress attention to get our bill and so did some other tables. The restroom was clean and appeared to be well attended to but with that being said, the restaurant was not crowded. Went to Jumbo Crab on 1/5/18 after driving past it a few days earlier on the way to Uncle Julio's. - This place was very disappointing. The only positive I have is that they served Pepsi products, if that tells you anything. The servers were okay and just attentive enough. It's been my experience on many occasions that whenever one server takes the order but different servers bring out the food, orders usually end up being incorrect, which was the case. I agree with the other posters saying that the waitstaff seems confused. Not everyone is cut out to wait tables, our own server didn't seem to listen very well. I should have asked her to repeat the orders back to make sure they were correct since there were 6 of us, but that is something this restaurant should consider having the servers do of their own accord. Two orders came out incorrect, and I was charged for both the incorrect and replacement. The server brought out head on shrimp for my 8 year old, even though I order head off. Why any adult would think a child would want head on shrimp is beyond me. My sister's order came out 12 minutes after everyone else had there food and were well into their meals (we all ordered at the same time). She had crab but they didn't bring the seafood clamps for another 15 mins. We were trying to flag down any server to ask for a pair, but they were tending other tables and we just gave up after 10 mins. The food in general was just meh for the prices they charge. The fish is chicken fried and bland, it looked just like chicken tenders. I've honestly had better at a JJ's or Sharks in the city. The seasoning in the seafood bags seems to be sitting on top and doesn't really get into the food. They give you exactly 1 corn cob and 2 potatoes. Corn can be pricey out of season, but potatoes are about the cheapest thing you can serve. My mother had gigantic onion rings that were soggy, the "Cajun fries" were bland too. Just a bland fest. Our server offered a free dessert to "make up" for all the missteps which was nice and all, but I would have preferred not to be charged for the incorrect orders. The dessert tasted like it had been refrigerated uncovered and had absorbed all the odors of other items in the fridge. We sat at the bar to wait for the 45 minutes she had quoted us (Saturday night, to be expected) and it took a full 30 minutes before the bartender came over to us and asked "so are you waiting for a table or did you want a drink." Well I went back to this restaurant. They were very quick with bringing the food out. I ordered a pound of shrimp, a couple of potatoes, a corn and sausage. The mixed sauce was so bland. I thought it was straight garlic butter. I even asked the server was she sure it was the mix. She said yes and brought more seasoning out. Great boil in bag restaurant! The crab legs were big, the crawfish were huge, the sauce was deliciously fantastic. Make sure to get the jumbo crab special sauce. Janet was our server, she was super attentive to us and as kind as possible. The prices were the best we've experienced in the southwest burbs for this type of restaurant. One constructive comment. I've been here many times & just never got around to reviewing but this place definitely deserves more than a 3 star rating! My first time coming was back in February with my siblings for Valentine's Day weekend, that's when I became a huge fan of this restaurant! Though it was busy we waited maybe 15mins & after we ordered our food came in 15mins. We ordered the weekend special & not only was the price right, so was the flavor! That special sauce was amazing. They forgot one of our lobster tails on accident & brought out the tail with another half pound of shrimp with corn & potatoes! Excellent service! Since then, I've been back at least 7-8 times & the weekday specials are great, wait times are even shorter & the sauce is still A1 (amazing haha)! Give this place a try! I know you'll love it. I wanted to update my review. As you may have read I think the Weekend Special is worth the drive! You get a half of pound of shrimp, crab legs and lobster! Not to mention corn and potatoes. I get the Jumbo sauce spicy which is delicious if you like spicy (you can get any spice level you want). Wear comfortable clothes and nothing that stains easy. I'm a seafood fanatic so of course I was excited to hear that we had a boil in a bag seafood restaurant in the area. I stopped by Monday before they opened but the owner was nice enough to let me come in and snap some pics of the menu. I dropped by today for lunch and I was a tad bit disappointed. I ordered a Pepsi (amazingly strong just like I like it). The calamari tasted as if it was fried in oil that chicken had been in. I got the lunch special head off crab which is $12 and comes with 2 potatoes and corn. I got the jumbo seasoning which is lemon, butter garlic & Cajun level of heat was hot and added a 1/2 lb of crawfish. The wait time wasn't bad at all but it was 1230 and only about 6 tables occupied. The food has potential. The boil in a bag wasn't hot at all. Not even a kick. The crawfish were big but taste dirty(crawfish in the Midwest is always hit or miss so I can deal with that) shrimp and potatoes are a good size. The sauce in the bag was oily and the food didn't absorb the flavor. I actually had to double dip in the liquid to taste the flavor. I have my fingers crossed that they'll tweak things and keep this restaurant around. We came in without a reservation and they accommodated us really well. The sat us at a table far away from the server section and then resat us when they had a table opened in their section. It was fine. The food was good but the place was dirty. It's like a hole on a wall bar. Prices are reasonable but their purple haze drink is nasty as hell. My mom and sister wanted to eat here for my moms birthday. I was open to trying the place out since they said it was good. Since COVID-19, we knew that most restaurants wouldn't offer indoor seating so we elected to order carry out ahead and take it home. We called the place ahead and placed our order around 6pm. We told them that we wanted to pick it up around 715pm when they gave us the time it would be done (about 30 minutes) we arrived at 725pm and got to the counter. We must have waited at least ten minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. While we were waiting, we noticed that people were dining in. When the gentleman finally came over to speak to us, we told him about our order and he told us it would be an additional10 minutes. We also told him that we called and were told that there was no in store dining. Clearly it was. We asked if we could just be seated since we had to wait for our food and was told no because the place closed at 8pm. Mind you, it's only 735. We ended up waiting for our food an additional 30 minutes which sucked. The food, once we got it home, was pretty decent. The service at their location was not. If it wasn't for my moms birthday, I would have just left the restaurant without the food since it took them 2 hours to complete an order that they said would only take about 30 minutes. This was my first time going to Jumbo Crab. It was good. My aunt had the fish basket and I had the shrimp and crab boil with garlic butter (seasoning). It was good and flavorful. The corn and potatoes was a bit skimpy for the price but the shrimp and crab was on point. I have to admit I typically eat my crab legs without butter or sauce and I wish I had've in this instance also. However, the shrimp made up for it. It was hard to share it it was so good. But it was so good, I had to share it. Let me go bCk to the corn and potatoes. It was not a lot but it was tasty. I'm usually a keto person and potatoes and corn don't entice me. However, I ate them potatoes and the corn last night because the garlic butter had everything aflame with flavor. I left there convinced that I would go home, broil all of my garlic and blend it smooth into some butter. Wow the food was awesome! The raw oysters - excellent; king crab legs, snow crab and shrimp were all made perfectly!
