Placed the order online as I was close by and their service was fast, bags were ready when I arrived and the lady behind the counter was really friendly. Hush puppies were good love the clam strips. At my wife's suggestion, I tried this place.......Back story, she didn't want me to make the long drive to goose island and suggested this place because it was comparable.....What a plesant surprise.....Located in the corner of a strip mall on a main street, it is easy to miss it.....Cusomter service was friendly and prompt. Cash or card.....Limited space inside......Straightforward. You can wait in your car, while they perpare your order. The large picture windows allow you to see inside, so you'll have an idea when you order is ready. Although they didn't have jumbo shrimp at this location, they did at other locations.......Did I mention they have 4 locations? I opted for the "Chicago Style" shrimp, which i'm told is large shrimp with garlic breading. Served by weight, cooked to order and served in an open wax paper bag for crunchiness.......The shrimp were delicious. Perfectly cooked and the sesoning was light. I prefer cocktail sauce and hot sauce. These sauces were not homemade but good just the same........The servings for the sauces matched the shrimp size.......Large......I went back the next day...Overall, a great first time customer experience. read more

Visited on the recommendation of a friend. Easy to get to, nice but small parking lot. The young man that took my order was very kind to explain the difference in flavors, sizes and sides. The regular shrimp has plain breading. The Chicago style has a seasoned batter that is garlic forward. Chicago it is! Small order of perch, hush puppies and one side of fries. I was given a regular shrimp as a sample to taste the difference. Almost closed my bag, but I remembered to keep it open. Love it when my car smells like a restaurant. Lol. I did sneak a fry out of the bag. Perfectly crisp and nicely salted. Plated up the goodies when I got home. Trust me, you want the Chicago style. Lots of nice flavor. The regular was BLAND. Still a good product, just lacking in flavor. Hush puppies were really good too. I'll be returning to try other options. read more

After having a hankering for delicious fried shrimp and discovering Frank's original location on Archer closed, I drove to the next closest location in Burbank. They do not have jumbo nor butterflied shrimp but they do have Chicago-style, my favorite. Ample parking lot. Place my order, watch the worker using a what looks like a broom end sweeping the bread crumbs which fell apart off my order onto the prep table to see him grab the garbage to dispose of the breadcrumbs. He had on plastic gloves but proceeded to grab the shrimp basket without changing his gloves, so I had to ask him to do so. He then realized what he sis and changed them willingly. He thanked me but this should be a standard part of avoiding cross contamination issues. Also, the shrimp were a little overcooked, so not as enjoyable as what I always remembered. I'll try other Frank's locations despite being further before returning here to give them another shot. read more

Franks, like all other seafood places, is not cheap, but they have some tasty stuff. Parking is good. Franks is small, clean, and Carryout only. They are consistant, and stick to what they do best ! Fryin up tasty seafood ! read more

The scallops and the gulf shrimp are tremendous. Mild bbq sauce and Louisiana hot sauce on the side for the win!

Given that they specialize in serving caught wild Gulf shrimp, I will bypass other shrimp restaurants on my way to Frank's. The shrimp is consistently seasoned to perfection, and the sides are always tasty, with my particular favorite being the onion rings. I went in for my usual perch and Chicago shrimp I never end up spending less than $25 or more The customer service was poor and the guy that dropped my food he did not put on gloves and came from the back My order totaled $25.57 I gave her $40.56 I did not have another penny the young lady at the register proceeded to give me $14.99 I asked why she couldn't give me the even $15 the guy from the back with NO gloves on stated every penny adds up which is understandable but the pennies that people leave add up as well It did not make sense to put so much importance in a penny I told him what if I let you keep your penny that U need so much and you return my $25.56 He said fine and he did not care because she was doing her job about a penny They also had $3 off a pound of perch which is $11.50 she rang me out for the 3/4 pound which was $8.75 none of it made sense they did not care at all bad business and customer service !! read more

I frequent this establishment regularly but tonight I had a horrible experience about a penny. The perch was on sale, a lb for 8.50 but I ended up paying 8.75 for 3/4 of a lb because the cashier failed to mention it. And then I spending $25.01, I give the same cashier $ 40 expecting her to give me $15 in cash versus $14.99. I've left pennies often so I expected bills rather than a bunch of change. The cook on duty gives his opinion which is just as jacked up as this dizzy cashier. What business model tells you to lose a faithful customer because of a penny difference. I don't know how these two secured a job in such a great place but they need to be gone read more

Ordered over $100 worth of food for pickup at a specified time. Paid and left a generous tip. When we went to pick up the order "staff" couldn't find anything. I have had great experiences here prior to last to several days ago. I don't know if the quality was bad because I got there when they were closing, I literally was the last order they prepared. The better was terrible and doesn't seems like it was cooked completely through. I had to pull half of the uncooked batter off, very disappointing. All it takes is one time for me to be upset about the quality of food when I am spending money. I understand that people have "off" days but not at my expense. Lawerences on Canal is too far and Shrimp Shack on Archer is 20 minutes away. So whats left when I have a taste for the sea? No, not Long John SIlvers (Tho I like them as well)...its FRANKS. So I finally tried them. They are only 10 minutes away and a straight shot down 79th. I go there and ordered the Seasoned Shrimp, Clam strips and oysters. Heres the breakdown: The seasoned is the way to go cuz the non seasoned is bland as hell. The shrimps are gulf shrimp which means they are sweeter than farmed raised. The clam strips were nice and meaty. The oysters were bland cuz they use the non seasoned breading. Too bad. Next time I will try the scallops. BTW, forget about trying to make small talk with the older dude in there unless youve ever spoken to a wall and gotten a response. LOL! read more

I wasn't up for the ride to Lawrence's, so we chose Frank's instead, and left very satisfied. The prices aren't bad, especially for the quality. Chicago gulf shrimp is big, crispy, and nicely seasoned, scallops were large and juicy, the cauliflower and mushrooms on point, and don't forget about their hot sauce. I wouldn't recommend the macaroni salad. It's creamy, but commercially made, and they charge $1.25 for a little single serve cup. All of the fried goods are made right in clear view, just the other side of the counter, so you know your food is hot and fresh. The only drawback is the parking being very limited, and there isn't much waiting/ordering space, so it can get rather cramped, but they move the line rather quickly and the food is worth it. read more

This place is great and I SO wish we had one in Wisconsin! Basically expect everything here to be fried, but it is delicious. We ordered the Chicago style shrimp dinner with coleslaw, hot sauce/cocktail sauce, it came with fries, and we also got some calamari on the side. The calamari was awesome and a heaping portion for the nominal $3 price tag. The shrimp portion was also very generous and cooked to perfection. The hot sauce left a little something to be desired but not without a tang. The fries were undercooked and a little mushy...and the coleslaw was almost minced - not exactly my thing. If I were to go again (which I hope to have the opportunity soon!) I would probably optimize the bulk order option (they sell by the 1/4+ pound) then slice a lemon at home and provide my own side sauces. Stopped here last night. I was in the area and saw the sign and thankfully remembered "hey, I think I remember that place from Yelp". My favorite Chicago shrimp place so far is Shrimp Shack on Archer (haven't made it Troja's yet, supposedly the best place overall), but Frank's give it a run for the money. I think I like the shrimp at SS slightly better, but Frank's clam strips basically suck compared to SS. I am dating a woman who lives near Frank's so I have a feeling I'll be hitting Frank's for shrimp more often in the future. Will have to more of the menu. read more

So had the Shrimp they were good.... Ordered the sides and they were horrible...The zuchinni was mushy but hot....The onion rings had so much coating couldn't find onion.... No cocktail sauce was included even though we asked....asked for a few slices of lemon...they substituted a teaspoon of bottled lemon juice in a little container ...TAKING ABOUT FEELING RIPPED OFF. Never been here before , the Chicago style shrimp delish and the regular great as well . Very crunchy and great flavor . We usually are skeptical of fried oysters, the best at Joes Stone Crab on Grand , BUT this was just as delish . We were impressed.
