a woman eating a slice of pizza

The name says it all, this place sells jumbo slices of pizza that are twice as large as your head. It's pretty much the perfect late night drunk food. We came here around 2 AM and they were out of any slices that had veggies on them. I guess if you're out that late, it's not worth trying to be too healthy right? We got the meat slice (ham, sausage, and pepperoni) instead and it hit the spot. The pizza itself is definitely not the best -- it's pretty rubbery and difficult to eat by picking it up. We had to cut it up or rip with our hands since it wasn't strong enough to be lifted. I would probably only come back during late nights out because that's when it will taste the best!

I love Jumbo Slice Pizza just because it's the place you can go in Adams Morgan to get a simple big slice of pizza. It's been around forever and always incites some nostalgia in me from when I first was in D.C. many moons ago. I came recently during the COVID-19 pandemic and it's definitely weird to see the lobby barren. Albeit, that slice of pepperoni is still amazing and worth the ~$7! It's hard for me to not want to get a slice from here after hanging around Adams Morgan having a couple drinks. Thanks for a slice of heaven JSP, even in these crazy 2020 times we're living in!

This place is definitely interesting! Lives up to the late night, sketchy, street food name. The pizza slices are definitely jumbo, so I'll give them that! And they are open til 0230 so that's another plus. That might be where the positives end. I ordered the Buffalo chicken slice for $11. The slice fills up the whole box and is even folded over a little at the end. The chicken was rubbery and had almost no Buffalo flavor. It also had a red sauce base which I find really off putting for Buffalo chicken pizza. It was not hot when we received the pizza and we were even in the store waiting for it, not like we waited for delivery and it had time to cool down. My friend got the mozzarella sticks (which she did accidentally drop on the floor and the nice people replaced them for her free of charge so that was really nice), but they weren't even hot. How do you have "fresh" fried mozzarella sticks that aren't even hot?? The place itself is very dirty, tiles falling off the wall and bugs flying around. I know this is a late night place and I'm probably being harsh, but with so many pizza options I would recommend trying somewhere else.

Good edge crust however, the rest of the pizza was poor. It was like a day old slice reheated. The center crust was soggy saturated with dried out sauce. It was not fresh tasting.

If you you happen to be out, having a good time on 18th St, and you find yourself looking for a meal after midnight, don't forget to take a pit stop at Jumbo Slice Pizza for a slice...or two! It's located in the heart of Adam's Morgan, and while the line to order might seem long, it's definitely worth it. I'm pretty used to not having any restaurants around me that stay open past 10pm, let alone 2:30am -- so this made me happy. My friend ordered a "Jumbo Cheese Pizza Slice" and I ordered a "Jumbo Supreme Pizza Slice" with almost all the toppings you could think of (cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, ham, black olives and basil). I definitely underestimated their definition of "jumbo," but I've never been more content to spend $8 on a slice of pizza larger than the size of my head. For those of you wondering, I ate it all and proudly at that. Definitely check this place out (I'm thinking the earlier the better so they don't run out of your favorite toppings). I know I'll be coming back!

It lived up to the hype of being a jumbo slice of pizza. Considering there was only one person working he was making the pizza and taking the order we got out pizza fairly quick. $7 gets you a cheese slice that will leave you full the dough and cheese very acceptable. It's not your fancy pizzeria but if your visiting or just hungry and want a cheap meal. They have a meat supreme slice it if packed with ham sausage and pepperoni so much so that it falls apart good flavor can get messy

    Pizza was soggy!

Of course we wanted pizza after a night out. However this is NOT my usual place. Still give it a try, the pizza is ok, meaning not really, it was soggy. After walking a few blocks there and a little wait not what I expected. Maybe next time I would ask for crispy if that's an option. The good thing about eating a humongous slice Of cheese pizza is that you can sleep in as you don't need to eat breakfast right away! Will give it another try. I still recommend this place after a night out of drinking.

Great place to stop by after a night out in AdMo. Decent flavor just really known for the slice size. Average thin pizza.

From the moment we arrived, we felt like our celebration mattered to the people taking care of us. The food was incredible. We started with the Duck Hunt and Cesare salad, followed by the 40-Layer Lasagna, which absolutely deserves every bit of its reputation. Our cocktails, the Arancia Rossa Margarita and Negroni Fumo, were beautiful and delicious. We finished with the Gianduja S'Mores and Pesca Arrostita, and somehow each course just kept getting better. But as good as the food was, the people are what we'll remember most. Talya was incredible. She was attentive, warm, and genuinely kind, making us feel completely at ease from the moment we sat down until the very end of the night. She made wonderful recommendations, checked on us at all the right moments, and genuinely cared that we were enjoying our night. And then there was Robin, the Guest Relations Manager. She made us feel less like guests at a restaurant and more like people being welcomed into someone's home. She checked on us throughout the evening, celebrated with us, and made sure our night felt special from beginning to end. At the end of dinner, we were surprised with two complimentary chocolate cakes, one for our anniversary and one for my wife's birthday, along with cards celebrating each occasion. Those personal touches meant so much to us and were the perfect ending to an already beautiful night. When you're celebrating the person you love most, you hope the place you choose somehow rises to the occasion. L'Ardente did that and more. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was beautiful, but the hospitality is what will bring us back. Thank you, Talya, Robin, and the entire L'Ardente team. You helped make a day that already means the world to us feel even more special. We won't forget it.

The hostess told us we likely wouldn't sit until 9:45 so I inquired about the bar and the manager quickly stepped in to put us on a waitlist. Since the restaurant is connected to a food hall of sorts, she recommended we grab a drink there while we wait. Shortly after we got our drink, we received notification of an opening and were seated by 8:15. We had the burrata appetizer, Ragú x 2, and the seafood fra diavolo. The burrata was one of the best I've had since they serve it with pesto, pine nuts, and garlic bread. It was truly divine! The Ragú was not far behind. Incredible flavor and a generous portion. The seafood dish had a nice kick and had plenty of seafood, which is not common as of late. All dishes were also priced reasonably for the quality you received. As we sat at the bar, we had pleasant conversation with the bartender and finished our meal with a small cannoli that really sealed the deal. If you're looking for excellent Italian food in DC without breaking the bank, look no further than Caruso's grocery! I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. I mean, it was good enough that I finished the WHOLE plate (again... no pasta for 30 days), but I found the sauce to be missing flavor and depth as it just tasted like a simple creamy tomato sauce that had little seasoning. Would I go back? Yep... even if only for the bread, but I would definitely try a different main course.
